I don't understand why there's so many vegans writing angry comments whenever she puts up a food video that is not vegan. Like, she never said she's vegan, did she? So why does she have to get these comments every time? There's so many vegan food channels on youtube, really SO many, so why not just go and watch that instead? I meam, I really don't get it. It's like when I hate Christianity but every time a certain Christian channel uploads a video about it I go all mean in the comments. That's something there's actually a law against. And I believe food is everyone's free choice, equally as religious beliefs are.
@KrishnaTufferyNZ8 жыл бұрын
it's because people are looking for healthy, clean foods but the recipes Cassy gives are far from healthy. There's so much evidence linking animal products to heart disease, cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes, and obesity to name a few.
@eew958 жыл бұрын
Yea but what doesn't cause heart disease, cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes, and obesity? I don't care if someone wants to be vegan but they have no right to dictate what other people eat. If they don't like her non-vegan recipes, they can look somewhere else. Her foods are wonderful, they taste great, they are filling, and they are full of nutrients. Besides, humans evolved to eat animal products. It is literally in our genes to consume animal products. Vegans need to get off their high horses.
@KrishnaTufferyNZ8 жыл бұрын
+Erin Winkler see again nobody is trying to dictate, but we have to call the spade of spades. we haven't evolved to eat animals at all. our digestive tracts are 12 times longer than a carnivores just like a herbivore. we have no claws or sharp teeth like a herbivore. our stomach acids are 8 times weaker than a carnivore like a herbivore. carnivores perspirate through their toungue whereas herbivores like us persperate through our skin. so when we look at all these physiological differences it's hard to say that we have evolved to eat meat. that's just what you have been told, but when you really do your own research you find that it's simply not true. also carnivores hunt and eat their meat raw and fresh. humans go to a supermarket and buy packaged meat. cook it and season it. why? just eat it raw like a true carnivore. we can't hunt down animals with our bare hands rip it up with our teeth and eat it. if we really evolved to eat meat we would be able to hunt and eat it with our bare hands. if we evolved to eat meat it wouldn't make us so damn sick with cancer, heart disease and diabetes to name a few. and the diet Casey is promoting is going to give her and anyone else eating it an early death. and one more thing, you mention how people should be able to make a choice what they want to eat. do the animals get a choice? does the animal get to decide whether it's being gutted, and having its throat slit while hanging from one leg before it's skinned alive. would you like that kind of treatment?
@KrishnaTufferyNZ8 жыл бұрын
+Erin Winkler a diet rich in whole plant foods like leafy greens, beans, legumes, nuts, seeds, fruits and vegetables and very low in fat actually protects against the diseases you mentioned. it's not enough to just everything causes cancer etc. it's simply not true, there are a lot of things that may cause cancer but there are things which can protect against it.

Yes there are! Several brands that are not zero calories, but at most about 25 to 30 calories per serving and anywhere from only 1-5 net carbs (if you subtract fiber). Ones I have tried are: Nasoya Pasta Zero, House Founds tofu shirataki noodles, and WildWood Pasta Slim noodles. I have found Nasoya to be cheaper, but you may be able to find the others online for cheap. However, if what you are allergic to is tofu or shirataki mushroom, I would splurge slightly and buy FiberGourmet pasta online.

This actually isn't too bad. The "noodles" have a slightly crispier/very al dente texture. I don't know if that could be alleviated by cooking longer or if that's just the way they are. It's hard to get all the water out of the noodles so they will definitely add a little bit extra moisture to the sauce, but all in all I was pleasantly surprised. Way better than zucchini pasta! Sorry I just can't get into that lol!

Well I believe the noodles are made feom Konyaku which is a root, so that's not horrible, cheese, well if you're an angry vegan we're going to disagree on this, but cheese is not in itself unhealthy, it's just high in fat, so you have to have a bit of control over your portions. Although I live in Switzerland so I believe my whole concept of what cheese is is very different from America.

I have a recently-diagnosed diabetic friend and those noodles are PERFECT to fill the mac and cheese void!
@forcharity2166 жыл бұрын
we use evaporated milk(instead of cottage cheese) for creaminess and we of course bake mac n cheese. so i would add a bit of avocado or olive oil to the recipe for baking and sprinke some scallions in or on. even better to add broccoli before baking..

GIRL I just found your vids and this is the first one I watched. You are SO FUNNY! WHY has Food Network not called you yet? I like you way more than Skinny Girl. P.S. Mac and Cheese is my absolute fave! I just wish I could find those noodles. Can't seem to find them in any of my stores around here! :(

I’m pretty late to the party…but. I see a lot of comments about the noodles and the smell, Prepare the noodles by washing them in cold water to remove the smell. Then boil a pot of water (salt if you’d like too) for about 2-5 minutes. Strain and dry fry to remove moisture. Make and thicken your cheese sauce, then mix it into a baking bowl with your noodles and apply more cheese on top if you’d like, then bake. Afterwords, I enjoy mixing in canned tuna, but that’s me…if you prepare it like that, it removes any unwanted smells, and gives the noodles an “Al dente” texture. Easy.

can you sub the cottage cheese with something else? I can't stand cottage cheese!
@mollaighholland62319 жыл бұрын
Maybe try goats cheese, it might work because it's a similar consistency

Actually, for those of us who need high protein, low carb, this is pretty ideal. Nonfat Cottage Cheese, Reduced fat cheese, and like she said, we could add spinach, kale, chicken, etc. This is a fiber and protein delight. For those who want high carb, obviously this isnt for them.

Tbh I'm not so sure I'd say it was healthier even. Technically the 'miracle noodles' are only so low calorie because they're a plastic that the body can't digest - don't know about anyone else but I'd just go for wholegrain! XD
@southousee8 жыл бұрын
they are not plastic you moron.. google helps

No need to be so sassy! After reading more into it, it seems that the articles I saw were wrong and that genuine shiritaki noodles are fine. Sorry for any upset that I seem to have caused you - my mistake
