This is one of those karmic coincidences in life. First time I was travelling in Europe (with my family), Paris was our second stop. We were staying right down the street from Montmarte, near Moulin Rouge, and we made our way up to see the painters. I remember sitting at a random cafe near the center when I heard this faint guitar strum and a woman's voice. I passed it off as just some music playing nearby. Moments later, this beautiful woman walked past with a cameraman hovering around her as she played and sang down the street. It made me smile and want to live in Paris at some point in my life (yet to do so, but there's a lot of life left). That image was stuck in my head ever since. It was the second most memorable moment of that trip for me (the first being vising Jim Morrison's grave in Pere Lachaise). Back home in India, we didn't have the amazing internet we have today so I had given up hope on ever finding who that woman was and what song she was singing. Just the image remained. Until the KZbin algorithm suggested this song to me last week. I immediately recognised the girl and the place. That's me and my sister sitting at the cafe around 2:57. I now know the song and the artist, and I love both.

Let's all take our 'music' -- in whatever form it takes -- to the streets of Paris, of Washington, of Tokyo, of your hometown. Each day, we'll perform to honor peace and beauty, to dispel the notions of violence and misunderstanding in our communities.

"Our"?
@charityg2356 жыл бұрын
Music and suffering are universal and speak to the heart. "Our" is the perfect word, and I think this young musician seemed to bring more joy and light to the streets with her song. It is a lovely thought Christian Kloc had about street performers and music; in my experience, it's when human beings experience something that touches their hearts like here on the streets in the video, that hope springs. To think that there is a community that is free from violence and misunderstanding is improbable, yet, if you do belong to such a place I'd wonder where that is. Christian's comment has an implicit understanding that there is no "us" or "them", but a "we" of humankind. Peace to you and yours...we all need some. Grateful for this music.

did she really down the street no acting complete no script? if i heard her singing i would not ignore her

She probably had a recording mic at most, nothing to project her voice though. I'm guessing she was barely audible on the street. They mixed and mastered to get her vocals and guitar out from the rest of the street noise or most likely dubbed over the video afterwards.
