Blonde has hit Netflix and is the first NC-17 movie to ever appear on streaming! Adapted from a novel fictionalizing her life, this movie is a disturbingly personal look at the life of Marilyn Monroe and how her adoption of her stage persona consumes her life as a whole. In this video, we dissect the directorial decisions of Andrew Dominik and how they paint the world from Marilyn’s perspective. While the threesome with Charlie Chaplain Jr. and Eddie G. Robinson jr may be somewhat fictitious, we’ll find out how much of it was true and what it had to contribute to Marilyn’s pursuit of her own identity. Much like how Norma has to piece her own life together, we’ll try to piece together the film as a whole and what the erratic editing choices have to say. We’ll even talk about how the puppy at the end is played by Anda De Armas’ own doggo! Oops, sorry for the spoilers!

This movie can die in a fire, along with those that made it. Let Norma Jeane rest in peace.

Rough watch. I was expecting a biography, but what I watched was closer to a horror flick.

Adrian Brody is excellent in this and everybody is. Miller was another person who betrayed her 😢

Ana and Marilyn both deserved better than this trash movie. This film wasn’t “personal” at all considering its based off of a FICTIONAL NOVEL and the directors own opinion of her (even though he has NEVER even watched a single movie of Marilyn’s). The cinematography and Ana’s performance deserved to be a part of a good film that is an actual biopic, not a representation of a non-fact-based novel and a director’s sick POV.

1 question: is the movie good enough to watch. I sat down, got confused and bored and then switched to another movie? I liked her emulation and the camerawork to depict the era.. but I couldn't make sense of the screenplay progress.. so vhabged after 20min

Downvoted for the ridiculous blurring at 4:29 and the HUGE error of stating that Arthur Miller was her SECOND husband.

@@mandyinseattle maybe because Jim Dougherty never had a bad thing to say about her. He always maintained she was a very good, sweet person - and an excellent cook & housewife, and they were fond of each other - she had wanted children, but was discovered as a model & the rest is history, but they parted fairly amicably. He's never mentioned in interviews, that she had any terrible unstable psychological issues either or her mother destroyed her, like the garbage Miller talked. He also maintained she was never raped in any of the foster homes she was in.

One thing I didn't miss was Ana's incredible thick Spanish accent cluttering her breathy Marilyn voice impression. She got the look well enough, but I couldn't take her seriously because she sounded like a Latin American parody of Marilyn Monroe.
