This colour looks so good on you! Yes, if you're going from blonde to darker, don't use anything more than a 10 developer. The reason for that is developer opens your cuticle to lift your hair natural colour... lightening it before depositing the colour. If you're already blonde there is no reason to lighten your hair at all, and if you have a blonde dye on it it wont even lift... it will just damage. Dye doesn't ever lighten dye. You're better off going with a dark toner rather than a dye anyways. Less damaging.

I don't know why but when you said 'it was time' I almost cried. I follow you for such a long time and I have seen you bleach your hair every month and I bleached my hair because of you, because I fell in love with blonde hair. I did the same thing, I’m now dark blonde and I do it by using “super blond” or “high lift blonde” which can be ordered online: Igora 12.19. You do this on roots with developer 20v and for the last 5 minutes I distribute on the rest of my hair with a bunch of water. The color becomes medium ashy. This way I don’t have to bleach anymore. I still tone in a week with 9.1 demi permanent hair color (I used many brands but any 9.1 is my go to).

Happy 29th Jess!! I admit, I was shocked to see this but it came out great! Smart to use demi developer as will fade and easier to lighten again if you change your mind! I myself recently went from light blonde to strawberry blonde as I get bored so easily!

Girl!!! I've been a hair model for a long time in Miami Beach South Beach. So when I stopped and move to a slow town I just was like totally addicted to doing my hair all the time and I watched many of your videos over the years and you've given me the courage to do a lot of things LOL so thanks to quarantine for the first time in my life I give myself a textured pixie! I was tired of trying to maintain my Platinum here so I said screw it I'm cutting it off and you know what it's been fun I have a plan to grow it back to I'll break it down maybe a little later. But I must say I was not expecting to see you with anything other than some sort of blond this is nice it almost looks like a 27, or strawberry blonde with like a little hint of some sort of neutral in it. I like it it's cute very Girl Next Door very very innocent it definitely took yours off of you and you already look young. Anyways just wondering how you been you look really sad in your videos when you were in lockdown or bored LOL haven't heard from you in awhile hope you're well give us a video update on how you're doing and what is your hair doing also?

I had a bottle of 40 vol, a really large one, don't know why, but I read up and found out that I could turn 40 into 20 by diluting it with water half and half. So I did that and I used it and got very little damage when I bleached my hair. I suppose you can take a 20 and dilute it half and half with water to get a 10. Though it may be runny because of the water.

Hi, I would like to try this technique. I just have a question... my roots are medium to dark brown (haven’t been to the salon due to the pandemic) but the rest of my hair is bleach blonde from highlights at the salon. My dark roots also have quite a bit of grey, even some small patches. Do you think I should mix one box with volume 20 developer for the dark/gray roots and another with volume 10 for the bleach blonde part. Is that how this works? Thanks in advance for your advice!😀

This is so flattering on you! It's the dream color I've been wanting. My hair is a level 6, how do you think I could get this color? Just allover bleach first?
@somegirljesskent4 жыл бұрын
Laurie Anne if your hair is a natural level 6, you could probably just use a level 7-8 blonde box dye with the 20 volume developer it comes with! That would lift your hair a bit. I didn’t use the 20 volume because I didn’t need lift (and it’s more permanent), but if lift is what you want, then you could totally use it! Also check out hi-lift colours at Sally’s. They will lift your hair without bleach.

I don't know if you'll see this comment since this video was over a year ago. But if I bleach to a level 9 and then want to dye my hair to a light neutral brown, can I just use a light golden brown hair dye or would it be better to use an orange filler before I even dye it and then just dye it a neutral light brown? (I have no experience using fillers ). Or would the fact that my dye i'm using has gold in it be enough? Also I didn't know if my hair would come out warm using a light golden brown or if it would just come out neutral since my bleached hair had the pigment removed? I'd prefer just a neutral light brown as my end result. Too much warmth brings out redness in my skin tone. I was going to use Wella Permanent color in 5G light golden brown...

Ten volume developer on my hair is permanent. When I first tried coloring my naturally light-ish hair, Sallys said 10 volume is NOT permanent, so I used it, thinking if I didn't like it, it would fade. I got roots from it, and had to touch up the roots every couple of months. Now, I am letting it go until I figure out what I want to do. I have never put bleach on my hair...too scared of it. I have seen so many women screw up their hair...big damage and or orange. I'm not doing that. So I used ION demi color 10A with 10 volume developer and got a lightening. It was not 'solid' where all my hair was the same color, so it looked natural. Not sure what I want to do now...maybe let the blonde/gray come in.

Or use a true semipermanent like a coloring conditioner or something like fanci-full rinse. Maybe your hair is very porous or easily lightened.
@natmya2432 жыл бұрын
@@labornurse I'm a level 6 mousy naturally and even 5 volume lifts my hair to ginger even though every hairdressers swears blind that a 10 or below will only deposit and not lift. I think if u have a strong red pigment in your natural hair (which I do) any developer is gonna lift it a tiny bit and show red.
