'The Hunter' is a brilliant album... Love this song.. I don't understand at all why people say Debbie is a bad dancer... or why they even care about dancing!! She's a musician, not a professional dancer! she's not even a little bit fat or chubby here, either... wtf!

Well, in general, people's attitudes about her kinda suck. She's a stunning brilliantly talented phenom who is untouchable in every way. I think some people are threatened by such a woman and how dare they objectify her. She's the absolute most stunning artist and entertainer that ever lived (and lives).

Best song on this album. Destri again. Should have been a single.

Jimmy composed great songs for Blondie, Atomic and Maria for example.

The big difference between Debbie and other gorgeous women/artists is that she really could sing very well with a clear,sexy voice.

critics slaughter blondie during the hunter era, sales didn´t help the band... as a die hard fan of blondie, i have to say i really like the album, maybe the most quirky and experimental of their records, and this concert is an outstanding performace, debbie doesn´t look fat at all, she`s gorgeous here

Actually, Billboard gave it a spotlight review that was very favorable.

baby got back in this video and she actually moves
@marcosssssssssss199014 жыл бұрын
I don't think she is fat here, she just has a few extra pounds which don't affect her look at all, her body fits perfectly with her clothes on this concert (this and the purple one), and you can't say her face isn't perfect.

debbie can't dance?!? debbie set the trend for dance, back during the NEW WAVE!! the quirky, awkward movements are on purpose...that was the style....dah!

notice she wore the same shoes as she did in the original Heart of Glass video...the glass-like heels...

Love the song. My only problem with The Hunter is that Debbie's vocals sound muffled on most of the tracks. Maybe to give them a "jungle" vibe? And it's a shame the extra verse was cut from the final version, those lyrics are great.

I saw this concert and I remember that my cousin commented on Debbie's big hips, but I thought that she looked great. My cousin later turned out to be gay. Duran Duran opened for them and at the time I didn't know who they were. There were a lot of girls in the audience and they all seemed to be wearing mini skirts, which really distracted me from the music. At the time, my favorite song was Dragonfly, but Danceway was also among my favorites. The melody when she sings, "let's get in the car" really worked for me.
@todd68513 жыл бұрын
What is the connection between your cousin thinking she has big hips and his being gay have to do with anything?
@wordsofcheresie9363 жыл бұрын
@@todd6851 Men are usually pretty accepting of how women look. However, I find that gay men are usually much more critical and this is even a stereotype of gay men being "catty".
@todd68513 жыл бұрын
@@wordsofcheresie936 Stereotypes are a dangerous thing. I am gay and the vast majority of the gay people I know are in no way "catty" or critical. It would be great if people could learn to stop stereotyping. If you find that gay men are much more critical you are tapping into a small subset of the gay population.
@wordsofcheresie9363 жыл бұрын
@@todd6851 I used to do musical theater and over half of the men were gay and flamboyantly gay. You can talk all day long about how stereotypes are not true, but spend just a few moments back stage in a musical and every stereotype will come to life in living color.
@todd68513 жыл бұрын
@@wordsofcheresie936 And what percentage of gay men are involved in musical theater? Two percent? Again, you are stereotyping gay people based upon your experiences with a small subset. Some might stereotype you as being gay for being involved in musical theater. Does that sound correct to you?

@jas22 Not if you saw her in 1977-78. She was just starting to put on the weight in '81-'82. Check out her Rapture vid by emiamericarecords here on youtube. Put Rapture in the search box and select the one by them. Also view her Call Me by emi music where she romps around on Coney Island beach. NOTE: emi music is different from emiamerica.

The Hunter is by far their worst album during their first run, but it had a few gems, War Child, Danceway, Island Of Lost Souls, For Your Eyes Only.

There was no emotion or any of that Blondie magic from any of the group in this performance.... they certainly weren't a band anymore.
