Nothing Daggy about this song mate. One of the great pop songs of all time so many variations of harmony and the bass line is up there with the classics. Blondie married disco with rock to perfection with this. You did this well.

@TheWalrusWasDanny Jeez Danny - I dunno. I find it hard to keep up with everything I've covered. Can't think off the top of my head of any other 70's tracks I've done of that nature. A few Bowie and Marc Bolan numbers.

@TheWalrusWasDanny Hi Danny. Fmaj7 with the F in the bass is just my lazy-ass way of playing F :-) I thought about the instrumental break, but in the end I couldn't be stuffed.

I was just playing this on iTunes and I thought I'll have a bash at that. Had a look on Ultimate Guitar, didn't like what was there and then looked on youtube. You always seem to pop up with music I like and I always enjoy what you do. Don't know what daggy means but for men of a certain age Heart of Glass brings back fond memories :-). A cracking song.

Good job, the major to minor change chord change does not happen every time, someone with your experience should listen closer. Your are also welcome to listen to all the live versions that Blondie does now a semi-tone lower in D. Creative bands are not predictable.

LOL - I keep forgetting my Australian-isms. DAGGY: 1.Australia New Zealand unfashionable: unfashionable, especially from a young person's point of view 2.Australia New Zealand messy: untidy, dirty, and unpleasant example:Her bed-sitter was so daggy. 3.Australia unconventional: different from other people, or unwilling to conform
@statingthe_obvious63099 жыл бұрын
this isn't a daggy song at all. don't hide the fact that you like it by calling it daggy. blondie have been an excellent contribution to music. way more original than "Oasis" ever were. don't get me wrong Oasis were great but they did plagiarise in a lot of ways most people don't recognise. you love this tune, Pete, or you wouldn't have did it :D
@georgiarose169 жыл бұрын
Oh course I love the tune..... but it's not exactly rock and roll.
@statingthe_obvious63099 жыл бұрын
georgiarose16 lol rock and roll is such a rhetorical term. blondie were essentially punk and punk covers so many things. punk isn't just sex pistols swearing on tv when it's considered outlandish and spitting on people, punk is being free to express. many bands of the punk era did just that... even if it was heart of glass. ya don't have to throw your telly out the window to be rock n roll either. music speaks for itself... terms like rock and roll become meaningless when the music is all that is.... blondie never did anything wrong or bad musically... but you know that... I know you know it :D
@statingthe_obvious63099 жыл бұрын
lol morlol so it begs the question... what';s the difference between rock n roll and punk? well not much when ethics come into it.
@georgiarose169 жыл бұрын
lol morlol All I was really meaning by my comment was that Heart Of Glass is a disco tune as opposed to being a more rock orientated tune. I tend to be followed by mostly Oasis fans so performing a disco tune was a little out of the box for me, although I have done plenty since. Blondie were a great band, no denying that, but their latter stuff for the most part was more pop orientated that their punk roots. Not saying that's a bad thing either.
@statingthe_obvious63099 жыл бұрын
yeah I guess it is a bit disco...disco.. yeah... now where's your abba cover? brb lol... actually a lot of bands dabbled in disco back in the 80s, quite natural really considering the prevalence of disco, and in the opinion of many of their fan bases it proved to be a low spot in their careers. I guess disco was a tough one to swallow for fans of more edgier rock type music... iron maiden and ozzy never dabbled though lol... but hey it's all music and influenced by influences some bands were/are just a bit more eclectic than others. anyway that'll do from me. thanks for replying. love ya channel btw.
