Getting rid of the fancy beserker/meladrome stuff and sticking to the basics really does work and having heaps of Decoy cards against spy-heavy decks is a great initiative. I varied my deck slightly but this was a great guide and I won the tournament in one go after watching this!

Thanks so much dude, I did a replay on deathmarch and tried to get all the gwent related trophies in the run. This one was added in the dlc so i just had to get it. I actually liked trying out the new deck but the amount of time it took to reload was too time consuming for it to stay enjoyable. Your video is the only one that got me past the second player, because he is an absolute bastard using all those mfing spies! Hope you're doing well. Just know something you made 5 years ago really helped a guy out! You're a boss.

Crach isn't just a stall move. Play your bad cards, shuffle them out of discard, play your best cards - your best cards get put on the board on 3rd round with the faction ability as it takes random cards from your discard pile and you only have your best cards in there. It also helps to screw medic decks

Omg ty so much that really helped me out. I was struggling with this quest cause I made silly mistakes that I didn't think about (like playing a decoyed spy, without thinking about the ability the nilfgardian deck has to bring that back next round, whereas if I saved it to next round, we were both or if decoy cards, and if benefit and they wouldn't). Thanks to this I beat this with rather great ease, except for one or two times I got a bad deal. I really was sweating this as a result, and wanted the trophy. Now I got it!

Thanks, this got me through on the first try, first and last time I'm using Skellige. I used a minor variation, I don't have the scorch dragon with the long name and one or two other changes but otherwise I just used this method and build and it worked like a charm.

I'm not saying your method won't work, but I think you're making a couple of mistakes. First, stocking up on 3 scorch cards is stupid when one biting frost + Villentretenmerth is good enough against monsters. Second, you're using way too many hero cards (like Triss who is useless), when tight bond cards (War longships and An Craite warriors) are far more powerful. Your biggest mistake however is not making full use of the deck's most powerful features. Starting round 3 with two cards from your grave is extremely powerful in combination with Crach's leader ability to shuffle graveyard cards back in your deck - definitely NOT a stall move. Here's my main strat: play O' Dimm and light longships in round one, swap one out with decoy (or both if possible!) Win or lose round 1 depending on how hard the oppentent goes. Start round 2 by playing your weak cards - then use leader card - win with two non-hero strong cards. This way you can start round 3 with exactly the cards you've put in the graveyard since they are the only ones there. I usually try to get either two war longship, An Craite warrirors, or bears(!). Then you still have an O'Dimm and lightlongship card, which can again summon the others since they are now in your deck and not in your graveyard. Also, learn how to pronounce scoia'tael FFS.

This is betting on getting a good draw with 2+ bond cards, where you only need one of the shared pull out cards to get three times the points. Worked excellent for me. Just saying. Can min max this to death but his method works.

I wouldn't recommend using the 3x Gaunter O'Dimm and 3x Longships in addition to using Cerys's 3x Shield Maidens (Which makes her pretty must the best card). Taking all of those cards gives you the chance of having an awful hand, and a bad chance at good re-draws because of so many Muster based cards where if you have Cerys, you want 0 Shield Maidens in your hand and only 1 Longship and 1 Gaunter 0'Dimm Darkness. Otherwise your deck and strategy was very similar to mine. As for which cards I would use instead of those 6, I used 3x of the Clan an Craite Warrior who are a 6 Melee, and have Tight Bond, 3x Young Berserker to go with Ermion. I think this set-up is strong and doesn't have any issue of getting a gimped starting hand. Thanks for doing this, big fan of Gwent. Best game within a game ever. :D

Don’t play spy cards when you have musters in your hand (cards that summon in other cards straight from your deck) play the musters first to get rid of the chance of drawing another muster

The Berserker cards are great, but just by using simple math you can prove that, albeit strong when combined, they are not worth keeping in the deck: 1) The Ranged Vildkarrls are 2 in the deck, they have 2 strength each and they need Mardroeme Mushroom to transform into bears. Once this happens, they transform into 8 strength units that have Tight Bond, making them 16 each if both are in that row. For this combination to happen, you need 3 cards. Or 2 if you want just one Vildkarrl to transform from 2 to 8 strenght. The good part here is that, since they are Ranged, you can use Ermion card, he is a Hero with 8 strength and when displayed he works as a Mardroeme, transforming the Vildkarrls into Bears. Still, at least 2 cards and no spy in the deck (unless you're lucky with Misterious Elf, don't count him in) 2) The Melee Vildkarrl has already one flaw: He cannot be combined with Ermion, since the latter is just a Ranged hero unit. Thus, you need Mardroeme card if you want them to turn into a fucking badass bear with 14 strength and +1 to any other Melee unit on that row excluding himself. For this to happen, you still need 2 cards and no spy in the deck. However, to counter them you need only 1 card: Scorch/Toad Prince (Monster deck only) for the Ranged Vildkarrls and Scorch/Velentretenmerth(Neutral badass card) for the Melee Vildkarrl. And there is also the risk that you don't happen to have Ermion or a Mardroeme to combine with the other berserkers in your hand.

Great deck for the tournament. Had to retry it once cause the guy with the nilfgaurd deck got super lucky at the end with his spy and scorch draws. Other 3 games were super easy, beat them in the first 2 rounds

Joseph Vice Cerys is, in my opinion, one of the best hero cards. She’s a great card to clutch the game at the 3rd round or whatever. I think the berserkers are pretty good when used at an appropriate time. And with the faction ability, you’ll have the upper hand when you’re at the end of the match. I definitely do like Northern Realms and Monsters better, but Skellige ain’t too shabby imo.

You can also ALT CTRL SUPP and shut the game then load the last checkpoint save to load intbetween games. Gwent as shown its limit, draws in the key like in every TCG and the nilf spy deck is the strongest by far.

6th play through & this is the 1st time I've even attempted the tourney. Won like you said, even w/a wicked lousy draw against the Nilfgaardian dude. Plus I made 2 minor mistakes : 1) Reshuffling before scorching if both opponent's medics haven't been played yet. 2) Playing muster cards before spies when possible. Other than that in the 2 days they give you to wait, it's a good time to ride around & practice w/the feel of this erratic but predictable (thanks to your video) deck. The "other" YT video was kind'a useless on which cards to actually include. But I won't "Sling" mud. Like an actual Witcher you slogged through the mud so we don't have to,...not much coin.... tell you what master, take your pick of my kids. Just one mind you or th' missus'll notice.
