My father and I became obsessed with this game when it was released and he'd sit on the couch while I preferred lounging on the floor with our cats. We'd banter on decisions, especially the Bloody Baron. Laughed when Geralt got drunk with his friends and wore Yens clothes. And yes, he had me choose Yen. He acted as if this were a TV series and begged me not to play the game without him present. Our favorite character was O'dimm. So when this quest started we both knew who caused the curse through clues and he jumped up when the song began and said, "I knew it!" Of course, this started our interest in the books. Sadly he has no interest in reading anymore but, he asks me to tell him about each one I read so he's informed which i don't mind.

eell, O'Dim used Geralt to kill the professor in Oxenfurt. And it depends, because you can choose to let Olgierd die. Also you can kill the wight, therefore O'Dim would be right and the wight would have never again be fed by any spoon. So depending on what you choose it could end in a 3:0 for O'Dim. But he at least always makes one point: if you dont visit the professor, Olgierd will die. If you visit him, so you can save Olgierd, the professor will die.

There's a subtle, and truly terrifying undercurrent I believe most people miss in this. When he and Geralt are discussing the woman's Curse, the Majordomo notes that what she rejected was an ancient tradition of hospitality, the denial of which is sufficient to bring down great misfortune upon you. What we know about this particular case all but confirms Gaunter O'Dimm is the one who cursed this woman. Therefore, I posit that the tradition only exists because of Gaunter. He has been doing this for so long, on such a scale, that everyone, everywhere knows to not refuse a beggar who comes to your door with but a bowl and spoon, for it may well be the Devil himself in disguise. He has single-handedly influenced the cultural development of an entire species with fear alone. That is the meaning of true power.

TheBrightLeafeon Of course. Video games reflect life, but often in ways that are improbable, dangerous, fanciful, or immoral. While many people have the good sense to know not to replicate what happens in a game like GTA, humans seem to have a perpetual case of "the highway to Hell is paved with good intentions". So, being that it's not all too unlikely that the average person will encounter someone who is hungry sometime in his or her life, I felt it appropriate to put out a warning: it only takes a few days for metabolic behavior to change to fat consumption, and a sudden reintroduction of food can be dangerous. IMHO, it's just as important as knowing that rabies doesn't always manifest with foaming at the mouth or aggression.

There is another quest in blood and wine related to o'dimm,a knigth's tale u will meet a witch that cursed a girl & changed it into a tree,she was the same witch that told olgierd that o'dimm can grant his wishes & she had broken mirror in her hut

Damn the spoon kil the music the hints of the curse this game is amazing
@dennisz12525 жыл бұрын
Something tells me that Gunter O Dim's curse was meant to help Geralt to get the rare stuff and her rudeness was used as a excuse. I'm pretty sure that Dim can see the future.

I didn't pay atrnetion to Gaunter O' Dimm's theme in that cutscene til I watched this. Damn!

the moment you hear Gaunter O'Dimm's theme in the background....makes you think he's everywhere but nowhere
@armorblackcity Жыл бұрын
This moment shows us all his evildoing. Casting a curse that will become a tradition in this kingdom for the simple pleasure of scaring people and reveling in their suffering through their fear and appearing fair through this 'punishment'. He really is the closest thing to evil... The devil !

First time playing this I killed the wight and I missed out. But now I played again and boom I heard the theme and I was blown away 😭

O'Dimm definitely has something with spoons, the curse, the man he killed when he stops time and when he helps you out of the ofieri boat he grabs the spoon on your "meal"

Gaunter presents himself as a vagabond, he broke a spoon when he helped Gerald and the girl was obsessed with spoons.

I think we all knew who did this when we saw the note that mentioned the curse was cast by “a peasant who sold mirrors.”

I like to think of those as him knowing Geralt would need a wight at some point and him knowing he’d need Geralt at some point and he did a small favor with out letting the white wolf know

Only now I noticed how often O'Dimm uses spoons, e.g breaking them in front of the woman was explained in the video above, in front of Geralt when he was imprisoned and got the mark and also when he stuck one in the eye of the drunken guy in the tavern.

If you read one of the Book’s at Marlena’s Home it states the Beggar who cursed her sold Mirrors. What an awesome way to overlap identities by CD Project Red. Knew that it was Gaunter O’ Dimm who had laid the Curse then.

I still think it would have been an interesting Easter egg in Cyberpunk 2077 to see a distinctly familiar man whistling a familiar tune, before looking back and he's disappeared.
