I had a full set of Portuguese Lizard patterns when I was a kid. Not quite the same but probably cooler as they were Portuguese Timor surplus. I guess they have small fellas in East Timor as they were a perfect fit for me when I was 10. The Portuguese Lizard pattern brush strokes are some of the nicest.

if you're using AK mag pouches or any other soviet carrier, you can place foam squares at the bottom of the pouch so that the ar mag is raised high enough for you to access it easily.

I HATED!!! any AR rifle growing up. I'm from the 80s, was vehemently influenced by folks that thought 7.62x51 was THE battle round. The Rhodesian war was a subject I read anything I could about. Even got a complete set of original Rhodesian cammies with hat as a senior. Sad I sold them. I'd still have a FAL in a heartbeat if I could afford one but my hatred of the AR and 5.56 is a thing of the past. Lengthy way of saying, cool build! I want one.

That's what I miss about Army Surplus stores in the 80s. Tigerstripe, Rhodesian, Belgian Jigsaw, you name it. I should have jumped on the chance. Back in the day I remember seeing SVTs, RPKs, and Lee Enfields on the wall and tons of clothes and gear just stacked up everywhere. You could walk in just about any day and see virtually everything imaginable.

That's a sick build I'm working on a similar build in 16" with carbine gas system except mostly black with grab handle rear sight instead of an optic mounted on top of grab handle. Just hit steel plate at 500 yds with it several times today with just irons.

Sweet build, I built one very similar to it ten years ago and still run and gun it! I’m digging the ranger band holding your p pad. I have a couple ranger bands holding a surefire micro USB light to the foregrip on one of my other shorties! It’s a hell of a lot cheaper than a rail mount.
