Popeye's voice looks like it was dubbed in a lot of times in this movie. Like someone else did his voice. The original movie's audio editing of his voice is just weird.

It’s called ADR. It’s when they re-take the line in studio. It usually means the audio in the original video wasn’t good so they replaced it. The original actors have to still voice it, but to your point, the post production team didn’t mix it well. You can hear the tonal/timbre difference. It needed to blend in more with the room noise.

The murals on the walls in the dining hall scene were done by one man with black shoe polish. That guy paroled and came back as a free person to complete the work. The Smithsonian Institute purchased those walls so if SQ ever gets demolished, those walls will be taken to the museum.

My Latina buddies at my gig were teaching me Spanish. When I started memorizing the Spanish in this film and American Me, I would use it on them. They're like, this ain't East Los(I'm in Chicago). Even today, if I run into some Latinos, I'll drop a phrase or two on them. My granddaughter is in a language academy grade school. I teach her the same phrases.
