@@olefella7561 Slavery, Colonialism and Colonization' are all evil things done and benefited by evildoers. After century-long painful Western global Colonialism (Colonial masters British and France alone colonized over 70 nations), some of these former Colonial nations turned to Socialism/Communism for a relief. World's economic and military power Colonial master West which accumulated a great deals of wealth through centuries-long Slavery, Colonialism and Colonization, turned against these former Colonial nations by black listing, black outing, sanctioning, stonewalling and making enemies; since global economic, political and military power/influence of the world is in the hands of the West, to this day, although to some degrees, China and others are rising slowly but steadily in order to balance the power of the word. can someone enlighten me why do the buyer need to be responsible for the seller matter?
@Gehslol6 жыл бұрын
Because at the end of it is a supply chain. Chinese mining companies are on the ground in Myanmar hiring people for mining too. Thus it's a cross nation issue that both countries can be equally responsible for, to make lives better. Two hands clapping is better than one hand anyways.
@TheLawrencesoh896 жыл бұрын
Oh, so it is Chinese companies that is mining. If it is this, then I think it will be very hard for the government to change if it involve the Chinese

Hurmm....idk but they are buying those jade with cheap price and selling in a very high price. And what fuelling this trade to expand is the market need of the jade supply is really high since there are many buyers especially in China jade market.But the main problem here is the government itself. Myanmar should control create a standard so jade trade bussines can be make as one of government main sources and the trade going as clean as possible and following the legal law, custom and etc. Well if government didnt regulate any legal law about jade trade, its like doing bussines and bargaining things in black market. But you know how myanmar condition is, that why i dont give a shit in their war or conflict or their claim of being innocent while fighting their rebels.
@jvp97033 жыл бұрын
It's absolutely ridiculous how commenters and even the media expect China's government to do Myanmar's job. One country cannot impose laws and regulations over another sovereign nation, those who should be held accountable are the state where the products are mined, are those individuals who willingly take drugs and scavenge knowing the risks.

The truth is greed and corruption. Both sides have equal blame. China knows that this is going on and continues because it's profitable. Myanmar knows that this is going on and continues because it's profitable. No real change is going to come until Myanmar government reforms itself to be anti corruption and ensure no such shenanigans is pulled. But it isn't going to happen because everyone is greedy. So until a great leader steps up with a great army, or a civil war breaks out from the tension, no change is happening.

So-called 'monkey wrenching' can unbolt whatever mining infrastructure now supports oppression and illegal practices to protest organized homicide. If the dead of Myanmar can't protest who speaks ?.

A late comment, but I still think I should write anyway. Many ppls may ask "....why is China blamed for buying?". "shouldn't both sides be blame?" yea prbly IF you only considered about things stated in this video. It's a business based on greed and corruption. the Trading itself is not THAT bad. but the Mining was. The miners were drugged (started in a guise of a harmless medicine, you get addicted to it. Same story everywhere.) and Most of their employers are happened to be "Chinese". Now is not that bad. But there were things like..Forced Labor, "Higher Ups" corruption, even cases like Family members abduction for forced labor (yea You can't really rely on Laws in that kind of place). I can go on about stories on Jade mining in myanmar for weeks. Now the question is "then who should we blame?" most of victim family will scream "CHINA". Yes, China knows that this is going on and continues because it's profitable but It doesn't hold account for the whole damn country. No, I am not covering up for China nor Standing up for Myanmar. This is issues between individuals. You can't blame Myanmar, Thailand , Laos for Golden Triangle. Then you can ask again. "why wouldn't Myanmar Government take countermeasures?" No. It won't be as simple as that. What will happen if Myanmar Army suddenly try to purge those.."Business". Yea, It will be a Slap in the face to China. since about 90% of jade handpicking business are Chinese Companies. At the end of the day. It is not solveable matter by a singular person.. You can blame whoever you think is responsible. But it doesn't change the fact that this business will go on for the time being.It will get better eventually I hope.

Human lives go before greed. Any government that consistently prioritized the latter should be held accountable. In this case both sides but obviously more Myanmar since it's their citizens that suffer. Even having poverty at all in a country is of course ultimately on the government.

In all fairness the miners SHOULD get better compensations for their hard work. Their immediate kinship should be compensated 100%, if they should passed away from accidental death due to job related. It's very sad to see how greedy human are. Kindness and compassion should be practice. No amounts of wealth will be given, or taken with them when the wealthy rich dies. That's just my humble opinion of it all. Coming from both Myanmar and Chinese background it saddened me to see any person being treated so poorly.😢

Hpakant in Kachin State, Myanmar is where I was born. The place looks a total different from how it was 20 years ago. Foreigners are not allowed to go to Hpakant. However, almost all Jade mining companies there are Chinese-owned companies. They do not care the tremondous harzards they have done to the environment in Hpakant. I even doubt that the demage is repairable. This is just one example. There are hundreds of thosands of banana plantations owned by Chinese across Kachin State, which shares border with China's Yunan Provance to the East and Tibet to the north. The excessive use of chemicals and pesticides on the plantations pose a life-threathening risk to not only the environment but also people and livestock that live nearby and work on plantation. There are also gold mining above the Myit Sone (Confluence) and amber mining in Tanai in Kachin. The abudance of natural resources in Kachin State seems like a curse for the Kachin people who are greatly exploited by the Myanmar government and China.

Asking for deportation of Chinese deemed responsible of Myanmar illicit drug imports and mining practices that continue to kill people. Let the military mine their jade revenue with bayonets to keep visiting Chinese honest.

Ever since 1962, The government by governments hsd been mishandling over the jade mine industries had produced the results of a lot severe casualities for the people of Myanmar and the country. But even now there is no lawful controls of minng companies that make enormous profits by smuggling the products out of country without paying any revenue. Each year, Myanmar is losing approximately 30 billions US $ which should be collected legally. Annually, hundreds of Poor Myanmar fortune seekers had been killed free by occasional accidents such as land slides without any life insurrancy. 1. We need more pratical laws. 2.We need more inspection of all mining companies by hard core ombudsmans appointed by the law. 3.We need more transparancy on billing the income of the industry to state and reveal to the public. 4.We need to watch out and protect then crush down all illegal smuggling of the products out of country. 5. We need to clean up all insurgencies in this jade region by conventional crack down tactics with all powers that we have. We should stop hesitating the neibouring dragon and coorperate with more western trading powers to avoid potential comflicts with current buyers in the future. Real Jade stone can be manufactured only in Myanmar. Some other countries has green stones but not jades.Those are green neprites. But apparently We still have mountains of jade in the region tbough.So Myanmar officials should be sentenced to death penalty if they are found guilty of corruptions in this industry. That is what we must really do.

Yes, some western business support horrible regimes and commit human rights violations. If found out, western media report this as main stories and it often results in large fines and sometimes prison sentences for company representatives. Regardless, two wrongs does not make a right... But that seems to be a hard concept to grasp for some. If you do something wrong, it is wrong regardless of my bad actions and so are mine.

It's a cultural symbol. It symbolizes luck, prosperity, good fortune, love and care to the owners and their family. Aside from the Chinese, other cultures such as Mayan, Aztec, and Maori all hold Jade in high regard as it is represented and utilized in many religious and spiritual aspects. I love Jade but that said I agree that there must be ways to ensure that it's obtained morally & ethically. It is sad seeing the real truth of Jade mining.
