Morning Josh, appreciate the kind words, I am currently testing this knot as we speak, Uni to Uni next then, either Slim Beauty or the GT Knot. It normally takes about 2.5-3 days to get it tested. It took me a while to get the knot settle down in Mono-Mono with regards to cinching technique / Wraps / How slow to tighten it. I will definitely get all this detail over to you guys when I do the next WSFK episode. Tightlines and thx for support.

Hi Josh, your timing is impeccable. I am just sorting out the GT knot, which is the last line to line connection for now, then I am heading over to loop knots. And the knot you mentioned will be the 1st one I review. I may also be throwing the Bimini twist in there also, which may be of interest. Tightlines and have a nice weekend.

I might squeeze in the Bimini 1st also as this is technically a Loop Knot also, I am looking at the GT Knots at the moment which there are a few variants and one of them has a Bimini linked in so It will be worth getting this age old knot tested also. As much as I love this channel, and I do...wouldn’t it make more sense to provide additional test results that mirror normal knot tying? For example, wrapping 10 wraps up and down for this knot is absolutely agonizing. Would be better to more closely represent how the average fisherman ties these knots and provide those results. I’ve always tied the blood and uni to uni with more wraps on the braid side, but never 20 total wraps. Sweet baby Jesus, that would be the f’in worst on a boat with some wind.

You make a fair point, and thx for supporting the channel. As you mention most fisherman do tie with fewer wraps as I have done myself for many years. But typically I would normally have only fished about a 1/3rd of my line weight. Slipping in knots especially with braid during testing always results in a far less knot strength. During the “development” stage prior to me recording results for each category I try endless combinations to ensure no slippage. I always look for a knot break or knot snap. So I add wrap count 1 at a time and ensure there is no slippage showing on the load graph or what I can visibly see. Going forward it may be worth adjusting the wraps down from from what I have suggested depending on what you set your drag too. This may make it easier for you on the boat. Tightlines.

@@toitfishing I appreciate the reply. I certainly understand that in order to give the knot it’s perfect due, you’d want to test the strongest version of it. Makes perfect sense and makes for awesome content. No doubt. Just would like to see results for more common versions of these knots, and then see those compared with your equipment. Just a thought. Perhaps for a future series or something. Can’t go wrong with more Toit fishing, amirite?
