Fucking amazing describes it perfectly, and it seems my feelings towards it are pretty much matching your enthusiasm for it. So, the story is great, visuals are sick as fuck and the score, my god the score, the synths are insane and morph with the story magnificently. If I didn't know any better I would think this was a transposition of a 2000AD comic, which is obviously a good thing, but being an original story makes it way "more better". In short, let's all pray these guys will not stop at this and keep delivering this amazingly sick shit for years to come.

Sure visuals are top notch, it's rest of the movie that had me wanting something else. I didn't not find the story engaging at all, I feel it lacked the intensity and dark mystery of the music video. I still think it is the greatest music video of all times, I had it on loop for days when I first saw it. This is a one and done for me. I wish it wasn't so.

I loved this movie, it reminded me of the 90's where i'd discover a new Manga movie on the sci-fi channel somthing that blew my mind and toook me to a place thats futuristic but also not in this dimension. like Genocyber/ cyber city/ AKIRA/patlabour, the colour grading of the film reminds me of a reacourring dream about an AKIRA esque universe thats all in this deep orange red blue neon haze. it strikes a chord on many levels. maybe its frouned upon but im editing the 3 episodes into one film. it is what it is. for my own personal enjoyment.

Happy to hear that you liked it! And I agree; Blood Machines does have a very "Akira like" feel to it's visuals... which is pretty damn awesome!! Editing the whole thing together is ABSALOTLY acceptable, especially seeing as how that's the movie's original form. It is one continuous movie, but for whatever reason Shudder split it up into 3 "episodes". Hopefully it gets a boxed release someday in it's original form, until then, EDIT AWAY!! you can see the lack of quality everywhere in the visuals despite this being more than likely down to budget and team, but how can you say visual masterpiece...
@JacobAnders
@JacobAnders 4 жыл бұрын
I didn't say that there was a lack of quality in the visuals, so I'm not sure what you mean. I mentioned that one of the performances was a bit stiff at times due to, what I think was, English not being his native language, and that some might have issue with the narrative, because it's not told in the traditional way. Visually I do think this was a masterpiece, not only in the quality of the CGI, but the cinematography, overall look, and how much of the story is told visually. That being said, I also realize that this movie will absolutely not be for everyone; it seems that people either love it or hate it, with both sides having valid points. This kind of interpretive visual story telling doesn't always work for me, but it did here, and I really liked this movie, but I get why some don't;) Thanks for watching!!

You’re gong to have to be more specific. Where exactly are you finding a lack of quality? The cgi was was pristine! Every shot seemed to have been painstakingly light and texture mapped to seamlessly place the actors INTO the scene. The color abstraction was consistent throughout, motion was smooth, I mean... really, point out the “lack” of quality. You’re crazy.

In Blood Machines, the filmmakers seem to prioritize visual aesthetics and music over a coherent and straightforward storyline. The movie is filled with striking visuals, neon lights, and unique spaceship designs that create a futuristic and otherworldly atmosphere. The choice to have the AI in the form of a pregnant woman made of gold in a provocative pose may be intended to emphasize the blend of technology and human-like qualities. As for the story itself, it appears to be deliberately enigmatic and open to interpretation. The ritual involving the naked floating woman could represent a transcendent or spiritual transformation, a symbolic release of the ship's essence. The chase between the Tracy crew and the mysterious woman might symbolize the pursuit of understanding and the desire to harness or profit from something unknown and extraordinary. There may also be underlying themes related to feminism and gender dynamics, with the portrayal of men resorting to violence as their first response and the women scavengers challenging traditional power dynamics. These themes could spark discussions and debates among viewers. Overall, Blood Machines seems to invite viewers to immerse themselves in a visually stunning and sonically captivating experience, while leaving the interpretation of its abstract story and deeper meaning up to individual speculation and analysis. Regenerate response

@@JacobAnders I did actually watch the full 3 episodes in one but NOT via Shudder etc. All in all I admire the 'independent' aspect of production, funding and more is not just an issue in film or movie etc production. Inventors, creators over the decades have constantly had the same difficulties. 👀Often someone like Edison etc would come along and sponsor or take on the IDEAS and make them into reality whilst patenting them for himself and the real inventors getting nothing. 👀 He was NOT the only one even today who does that.

While I didn't think the acting was terrible, I'll admit that it was the weakest part of the film, however everything else is so damn good that it makes up for it a bit! I think you'll see that most of the reviews mainly praise the creativeness and visual splendor of the movie more then anything. Visuals alone don't sell a movie for me, but this one had just the right mix of ingredients to really click with me. But it's not gonna be for everybody, and that's cool; maybe our opinions will line up on the next one;) Thanks for watching!

Take this comment with a pinch of salt and your metaphor digging hat on, :p This wonderfully made film was a huge slap to "bad masculine" cliche traits. Superior ever-sufferring female cliche traits murdered the unwise youth whilst conversley harkening back to "the good old days" of masculinity, and giving life to it at the end, after destroying and leaving to eternal hell-torture-inside-the-inverted-cross-inverted-womanhood-manifest the ignorant materialist modern man. But that's where it gets my goat. The femdom is a romanticised celtic pagan fiction harkening back to the days when the life of stone age nomads was revered in the oral histories of new miserable agriculture based societies. The so-called patriarchal switch from slavery to the Moon to the slavery of the Sun is deemed an ancient crime against humanity. I actually agree with that. And man is now also blamed for the industrial revolution abuses that led to rampant capitalist globalisation. I disagree with that. Just because the patricarchy rose and the control and acquisition of material environs to luxurous but shallow standards rose at the same time, does NOT make the correlation the proviso of men. I put it to you that it is in fact totally the reverse. Actually why must we divide the crime of "progress" of material world gain against the loss of the spirtual and natural world as only one gender's fault? Was it a man or a woman that cultured the first grass to the equivalent of wheat? So this is what makes me sad about such a beautiful work of art this film is. It's an overtly simplistic feminist undereducated-it's-all-his-fault trope. The answer is we get along and work together, not She must dominate to stop Him dominating.

I liked the movie and absolutely loathed the captain, so a job well done in pushing my buttons when it came to that horrible character. Beautiful array of colours I thought.

Movie? It was three episodes long that wasn't even an hour long. It was amazing don't get me wrong but this wasn't a fucking "movie".

In its original form it was one continuous thing, but Shudder cut it up into three "episodes" for some reason. While even in its original form it was a fairly short movie, it was made as a movie none the less;) Thanks for watching!
