I had a thought that you could turn Sanguimancy into a node like Ascendant where it has 3 options. 1) splits cost between mana and life (50% each), but mana regen contributes to life regen as well (at a percent). 2) splits costs between ES and Life (50% each) and removes mana , but ES recharge rate contributes to life regen (at a percent). 3) like Blood Magic but with more powerful leech and no life regen outside of flasks. This would make it more interesting, give more player agency, and diversify builds and ascendancy nodes taken.

i thought that they could make the Sanguinomancy node in some type of passive when you ascend, and them you can choice what nodes you wanna to get first

They just need to make it 50/50 and that would fix the issue most likely. Blood mage would still need reworked tho, because sanguimancy is required, and the leech node is also required due to sanguimancy , which really only gives you 2 options for ascendancy

@@jonathangrimes8975 This is why I tried to suggest options that fold them together so you can get everything form 1 passive and gain more freedom of choice. They can easily create a new passive to replace the current Life Leech node with something that feels like more of a choice.

@revenantmuffin4730 yeah even if they just replaced it with %life that would be good for me, and go along with the life stacking / regen theme, and it'd be optional if you wanted to focus right side over left. Bleeding and damage over time also needs a bunch of support because rn that portion is completely unviable

Im playing a 2nd char as blood mage, I went with spell crit build because life remnants appear whenever you crit an enemy, it also overflow with your hp, it can basically double your hp. so far I have not been dying and needing flasks. The only concern is mana but I think blood magic could fix it but its too far on my tree. Need another alternative for mana conservation.

The best thing I found is physical spells. Bone storm and detonate dead were huge. Huge damage and aoe on dd. I can one shot rares in t8 and bone storm for bosses. They have high crit and they bleed. Bleed works with crit and u can use % damage as mod on gear too for elemental bleeds. Basically every physical spell node works with your entire ascendency. Large thing is clear in as few spells as possible. Also go a bunch of minion hp nodes with brutes and sacrifice. The only thing is dd and bone storm is the only physical spells so u need to full respec if u want something else.

9:53 I’m using Chronomancer, and I use the slow passive as well as blasphemy and temporal mastering. This combined with the cursed enemies are hindered part of the tree and 30% damage to hindered enemies is amazing for four second combos. I have the notable that lets me have two curses at one time and I also use the lightning curse as well.

I think a good start for a change is to just combine leech node and blood magic node into one. Having to use 4 points because you need to is insane. I started a blood mage but just rerolled merc. Stopped at the start of maps

I've been playing goratha's build and it's pretty good. Keeps getting nerfed every patch though. Blood mage is already extremely underwhelming then they hit cof and now they are hitting freeze build up. The frost wall is crazy busted you can corner mobs and they just completely break and never hit you so I get the nerfs in a way I guess

A consistent thing that I hear you bring up, that I cannot help but disagree with a bit - is this notion that you find a lot more of your gear on the ground compared to poe1 -- while this is certainly true, the REASON it is true is primarily because the game doesn't offer any realistically any other options for obtaining gear or creating gear in a meaningful way. As you yourself mentioned, they intend for you to gamble, but as you also illustrated early on when you wanted to find your resistance rings, that its just a huge gamble that sinks all your gold on a CHANCE for something meaningful. Of course, this can change with time, but as it stands the reason why you "feel" like you are picking up stuff from the ground more to play, is because you don't have any other options really.

The skill tree is just obviously worse. Looking at minions for example, there's basicaly just damage resist and life, no "minion chance to bleed" or quirky stuff, there's one crit wheel for them I think? very very bland, there's other examples for other builds too but damn
