I've never played the games either, been aware of them, just never played them. I like this anime because it's a horror with the classic monster tropes, vampires, werewolves, mummies and demons galore. Just like Vampire Hunter D, it's a genre tale spin on Dracula. It's good, fun and entertaining.

It's not just the animation, the writing and character's were solid too. I just watched Dragon's Dogma hoping it would be similar, but animation aside, the writing and characters were a big step down which goes to show how important it is to a good show.

You know what was one of the most jawdropping aspects of this show? THE CHORUS. I have studied and acted on some greek tragedies in theatre, and one of the most important aspects of the greek tragedy narrative is the chorus, but of course this is for theatre. However, the music and the chorus/choir raises the bar to every show that will follow. My gods, the fights bring chills to the spine when the chorus comes in. Even in the title, as you mentioned. I am obsessed with this show.

10/10 indeed, would like to see Poseiden more and his story. The main gods are all put together well that they could have their own short series about whatever. I loved Heron and him being able to use his demi-god powers. Hercules uses his strength, and Heron used the lightning. I just loved the show can't wait for season 2 if its a go

That bugged me throughout the whole series. I kept waiting for Zues to be like I got your sword back "if you lose it again I'm keeping it". Should have pulled an Odin and put some sort of enchantment on that thing.

It's actually pretty good. The sound design and animation was a bit off from time to time, but nothing too distracting. The story, writing and characters were great, the villains were compeling and had great motivation! The main hero was good and his relation with his mother was very sweet, even though you could make the case that the hero is a bit generic. I think it's great overrall and I'm curious for a second season!

I just finished watching this show. It made me really proud to be Greek, I definitely recommend watching it. It was amazing and the action was spot on. I can't wait to explore more of the other gods like athena and artemis and the others in season 2.

@@F1MXLI I cant think of anything off the top of my head that is that recent but before that you had the Hercules movie staring the Rock, the movie 300,the shows Hercules and Xena, old movies such as clash of the titans, Games like God of War, my point is, Greek mythology stuff is EVERYWHERE while stuff like Viking mythology has largely gone unnoticed until recently.

greek mythology is so vast and well documented that offers unmeasurable potential for adaptations. This show only scratched the surface of the olymbian pantheon universe. It is sufficient to say that each god could as well have his/her own multi season show

Not only are the greek myths multiple l, there also many different versions of these myths. And do not forget that is a pantheon that was active as a religious material for centuries (greeks and romans).So it shouldn't come as a surprise the familiarity of the word with greek pantheon rather than Norse

Personally I like the relatable motives for the “bad guys”. Herra was always kind of an understandable wronged woman. But even the mysterious demon leader’s background eventually gets filled in. And I loved the end reveal of his weapon!

Maybe I've just read too much Greek mythology but I never really cared for Zeus and when he died I was actually happy. Hera is a great villain and up until she allied with the giants I was actually on her side. Seraphim is to me the main character of the series more than Heron. In fact when he offered for Heron to join him and kill the gods I was actually hoping her would. In the end I kind of want Seraphim to go god of war on this whole thing, maybe with Heron.

If there is a season 2 I would like to know more about the side characters. I would love to learn more about Alexia and the other side characters, we briefly saw and heard about their backstories but because it was mainly about Heron we didn’t learn a lot about them. So I hope they use what we already know and get more information especially about Alexia the Amazonian. I would also like to see more of the Gods like Aphrodite, Athena, Hades, Artemis and so forth. I mean I think we saw Artemis briefly a few times and I think we saw Aphrodite and I think we saw Demeter and Persephone if I’m right, but none of them talked and I would love to see them interact more. I also would like to see Hera either continue to be a villain in season 2 or get her redemption art. I really hope they get a season 2. I would also see more classic Greek Mythological characters like their monsters.

I think they should also introduce other Demigods. I agree in that either Hera continues to be the villain for season 2 or bring back a Titan, or a god from another mythology. I really don't want Hades to be the villain yet again.

@@greenman394 I definitely don’t want Hades to be a villain, I mean he literally is always portrayed in so many things as a villain when in reality he is probably the nicest of the Gods besides like Hestia. And as for the Demigods we got a hint when Zeus mentions Perseus and Hercules to Heron which means that it’s after their great quests and we might see some of the others. It would be great to see some of the other demigods or even new demigods.

I really wanted him to use the sword, but him using his Demi-god powers made up for it. Now he is up there with his brothers who can train and help him hone his powers. Definitely would like to see a new villain, Hades is used often should have limited role in season 2. Hera can bring about new monsters, and challenges for young Heron and his buddies. @@roberto9094 Honestly the stigma that Hades is evil is so overused. He barely did anything in the Greek Myths. All the torments in Tartarus were made up by Zeus. He never strayed from Persephone. He was one of the least bad gods. So I hope we don’t see him be a villain again for like the hundredth time. Like choose someone else world. On another note the way that Zeus mentioned Hercules and Perseus suggested that they were famous and had already done their heroic journeys. And the city of Corinth which is Heron’s and Seraphim’s birthplace in a lot of myths was suggested to have originally been called Ephyra after the goddess that supposedly founded it. It was supposedly renamed Corinth some time later and if myth is right it was named post Hercules and Perseus. Also if Hercules and Perseus have been mentioned and the show has previously shown Hera’s rage towards Zeus’ bastard children I’m guessing we probably won’t see Hercules since in a lot of myths after completing his trials he had a family and then was driven mad by Hera and the blood of a Centaur causing him to murder his wife and children before setting himself on fire. He died and Zeus immortalized him in the sky as a constellation. So I feel like we might not see Hercules. Though I would love to see him and Perseus and maybe also Helen of Troy.

Just finished this season.. It's really not that great but it isn't that bad, I've seen worse. Greek mythology is pretty cool so that's what caught my eye to watch it. Like you said they really crammed it all but it's cool. There wasn't any backstory on Alexia other than the fact that we got to see what her parents looked like. Same with the other 2 guys and their history. Maybe that'll be something they'll cover next season if they did. Funniest part was within the first maybe 2nd or 3rd episode when Seraphim was on top of a mountain and Heron was able to shoot arrows that far to him from the city below. And Poseidon looks awesome in the show: Real tan and turquoise hair.. It blended well. And lucky we got to see Hades, he looks pretty beast!

Yaaasssss that book by d’Aulaire’s was my introduction to Greek myths when I was in third grade in 1992 and I’ve loved Greek mythology since then and I’m so excited to see it come to life in this gritty medium. I stopped at the end of episode three cuz I was tryna figure out who the goddess is with purple hair and had a dagger and brambles in her hair. I figure it’s Demeter and Hestia is the older looking woman. But there’s no guide online yet of who’s who. Everyone else is fairly obvious. My faves are Apollo, Poseidon, and Athena and can’t wait to see Athena next season hopefully cuz you know she’s a badass! I’m sooo impressed with Hera and I’m actually rooting for her even though it means...ya know. But I loooove how badass she is in this story and I’ve never cared for her in the stories. I didn’t even realize that the titaness’s breasts were considered nudity 🤣 then again, I’m a huge game of thrones fan.

Yeah this anime if you want to call it animated standard The Fighter Arcade animation and are so it's gorgeous but there's many other shows or other anime that has the same and it makes you wise and the fight took better story is okay nothing special is better than some other Greek mythology but the state this is one of the best shows e seat means exactly that she haven't seen other shows that is far superior than this

Obviously the movie would have some elements that would set it apart from the Percy Jackson Movies that in my opinion fell short.

Binged the entire season the day it was released. As a lifelong fan of Greek mythology I absolutely loved it. There were moments when the music made me think of the original Clash of the Titans which was a favorite movie of mine as a kid.

While I like the series in general. Heron isn't really much of a compelling hero for some reason. The supporting characters though are amazing especially Hera 👍, and I think I have a little crush with Hermes! 😍 He's just sooo cool. I agree also that Athena, Aphrodite or Artemis should figure prominently next season. Lastly, WATCH CASTLEVANIA Grace! I guarantee you'll fall in love with that!

I was slightly excited from the trailer and had it on my watchlist but it wasn’t a priority. I then started hearing good things and decided to give it a watch. Finished it one evening. So good. Sweet action. And I liked that why didn’t rely on exposition too much. I especially love the sound effects. OMG! When Hermes is running, the sounds of sounds and Zeus’ lightning. Bruh. So good! Also, watched only the first 15 mins of ep 1 of Castlevania. Just wasn’t feeling it. May go back and give it another run.

This is the kind of show I've been waiting for a very long time. I love Clash of Titans, God of War, all that stuff. I'm bummed that you mentioned that there's no Athena (she's my favorite), but hopefully they are holding her for S.2. I loved the Castlevania series, so I'm really looking fwd to this new show.
