This movie is awesome. I've seen every Coen Bros. film and this did not disappoint me. It's normally placed in the rankings as one of their lesser films, but then again so is the Man Who Wasn't There and that was a great movie.

Such a brilliant film - definitely one of the their best. The plot respects the viewer's sensibility, unlike most Hollywood shite. The writing keeps you on the edge of your seat. And Fran McDormand is so hot. Run, don't walk, to see this film.

Frances McDormand was pretty hot back in the day. I don't know why I'm just now really noticing her in films. She was great in Fargo too.

I always crack up when Ray asks Marty, "AM I FARRED, YOU WANNA HIT ME, WHAT?"....hahahahhahah It's hard to believe that Margie from Fargo and Abby from Blood Simple are the same actress......her accents in both are so genuine and convincing.....its amazing...

@MaybeYesNo90 It may be hard trying to find the original cut. I'm from the U.S. and I bought the director's cut on DVD cheap for $7 at a Target store. The funny thing is that the original version is 1 hour and 39 minutes, but the director's cut is 1 hour and 36 minutes! I don't think 3 minutes is gonna affect much, but since you live in the Faroe Islands, it may be different. You really have to be in a mood to watch any Coen brothers' movies, and I may not suggest watching it at night! D:

Even after the first time i saw this movie, back in the 80s, i have never forgotten his monologue at the beginning of Blood Simple....."The world is full of complainers, etc."

I saw Dawn of the Dead in 1979 at the theater when it came out. I was TOTALLY not prepared for what i saw. I remember coming out of the theater literally STUNNED.....I remember going up to the ticket girl and asking her, in disbelief, "HAVE YOU SEEN THIS MOVIE? I DON'T BELIEVE WHAT I JUST SAW!".....ever since that night, Dawn of the Dead has been my favorite all time movie...the only movie i can think of that even came close to affecting me that way was Jaws but I don't even care to watch Jaws anymore.....and yeah, Criterion released Blood Simple on bluray last week......its my favorite Cohen brothers movie other than Fargo...that was brilliant also.....

What's the music that plays over the last half of the trailer?

Wikipedia claims that the lead actor in this specific trailer is Bruce Campbell of Evil Dead fame. I'm not positive but it definitely looks like him.

I didn't get the part where Maurice (The black bartender) hears Marty on his answering machine complaining that the money from his safe is gone AFTER Marty was killed. What money? who took it? when did he leave that message?????????? ............HELP!
@ZEPPELIN10111 жыл бұрын
Marty called Maurice before he died saying that someone broke in and took money (Which was a lie. He only said someone broke in so he can justify why the 10,000 dollars he paid the hitman with was missing from the safe) The fact that the bar was eventually broken into by the hitman was a complete coincidence

yea when i first watch the movie, i thought it'd be boring....it's a typical coen bros film tho...too slow for my taste but quite good in storyline. if u enjoy cowboy films u'd love this one. it's totally old school mystery thriller style. there's a new one out "lady killers" quite funny :) tom hanks is annoying as fck in that movie~
