A very small detail I really liked for some reason was the animation when Eryk changes directions it does the Symphony of the Night Alucard animation

@@TheIceJester thank you! I would say if one is on a really good sale maybe go for that, if you only get one then I would say blasphemous 2, I think it’s an awesome game all around, but you really can’t go wrong with the last faith either.

when you were talking about using spells a couple of times till you reach to a checkpoint you know u can execute someone and gain back all your mana right

No, for real? I think they might have patched that out, i've executed so many enemies. I could be wrong, maybe I just had full mana before the execution so I didnt notice. If that is the case, I fully take back that complaint

This is a game that was on my radar but after seeing many of the reviews I chose to wait and see what kinda patch support and changes it would get. Not sure if they took it far enough yet so I’m focused on my blasphemous 2 playthrough for now. Thinking about salt and sacrifice yet which has recieved a bunch of changes and I think it’s been viewed positively even if it’s still different from the first game.

@@darrelladams4886 blasphemous 2 is a blast. Salt and sacrifice was kinda a big let down for me. It wasn’t terrible but wasn’t nearly as inventive, dark and gritty, or as tense as salt and sanctuary. You might like it though, some people definitely did!

Salt and sanctuary sucks. Trust me. It's a disappointment . The last faith, is so close to being as good as blasphemous 2, to me personally. And I got 98% thru blasphemous 2. Loved that game. The last faith is worth it if it's even on sale for 20

I loved blasphemous 1 and 2 and really loved The Last Faith. I played it on switch and it wasn’t bad. It only struggled a bit in the snowy area, but everything else was great.

Really ....damn, it was just on sale at its lowest price on Switch but I passed because all the negative reports I've heard about performance...pixel art games look so good on the switch oled

I thought this was going to be a Blasphemous wanna-be, but The Last Faith is the best Metroidvania I've ever played. Plus, it's a good game to try out if you love BloodBorne. It's a 9.5/10

played this game on 1st day release in PS4, lol there were a lot of game breaking bugs. after a few patches they sorted them out playing this again after getting the physical release on PS5 and i find the PS5 version way smoother than the PS4 version

@@samtheashen EDIT: theres more physical content with the nycrux Edition, like a post card. the CD OST, the art book that has shitty paper lol i just platinumed the game on PS5. and theres still a bug that wasnt there on the PS4 lol apparently when you get debuff/buff during the last 2 boss fights (the booby ladies and the secret true boss) the buffs stay and even the stigmata that boosts your attack speed stays forever, not every attack damages the player too debuffs like frost, burn, Bleed stays permanent until it maxes out like you die from bleed , or get frostbite those were the only bugs i found that happened during the last boss fights that made the game easy lol

I’m currently finishing my play through, and I’ve enjoyed it much more than Blasphemous 2. The exploration and boss fights were more fun, it has more secrets, and more weapons. Blasphemous 2 is great, but the mace far exceeded the other weapons usefulness in most cases, at least for me. My main gripes with the game is that both magic and weapon skills use focus, severely limiting magic’s use (especially with how much MP magic uses), and how underpowered guns and magic are, especially magic. I found guns to be more useful than magic, overall, since they don’t use the MP bar and have better range.

@@AdAce21 I think that’s a fair criticism on both blasphemous 2 and last faith. The mace killed way better than anything else for me, still a great game though. I was also disappointed with the focus system in last faith but apparently I was also missing on some mechanics so it might be better than I thought.

I strongly disagree with faith being better than blasphemous, especially in terms of polish. Faith's controls are janky at times and it eats your inputs at other times, you can't do anything while ducking, ledge grabs work sometimes, healing input gets eaten if you're not standing still, spells are useless except for the 2 way flame and that's in 1 boss fight, gun is useless ass well, weapons are trash, I just used the greatsword the whole game because of its reach, level structure is terrible and the fast travel is also terrible. That being said I still liked the game but it just doesn't compare to blasphemous at all. Record of lodoss war is a great but short game if you guys have never tried it EDIT: forgot to mention the fact that the parry USED A BAR 😂😂😂 didn't even use it, I just rolled through everything

@@demgutts I agree that blasphemous is way better, it definitely set the standard. Some of the vibes I got from last faith were blasphemous like but just in general terms. I still had fun with last faith and even though it had some core flaws, it was still more of a genre that I like, since I already played through blasphemous 1 and 2 multiple times, I needed something new lol But all that’s to say I enjoyed the game, but Blasphemous is no doubt better in every way.

I tried playing both Blasphemous 1 and 2, I got about 8-10 hours into both games before quitting due to pure boredom, the progression was just way too shallow and basic in both games, games like Bloodborne and The Last Faith actually have a bit of complexity and depth, i 100% completed The Last Faith just because of how fun both the gameplay and progression is, it has way more build variety than the Blasphemous games, the build crafting was just way better, The Last Faith actually felt like a proper RPG, if you can't gain power through gameplay then I just dont see the point

Just no, both The Last Faith and Bloodborne are far better than either Blasphemous 1 or 2, the Last Faith and Bloodborne actually have a bit of complexity and depth within their progression systems, while the Blasphemous games are very shallow and basic, theres very little build variety in Blasphemous while the Last Faith has at least twice as many ways to build your character, imo soulsvanias are just better with RPG mechanics, The Last Faith, Grime, Deaths Gambit Afterlife, Afterimage, Dark Light, Ender Lillies, Lost Epic, Salt and Sanctuary, Salt and Sacrifice, Skautfold Usurper, Souldiers, Watcher Chronicles and many more prove imo that metroidvania, Soulslike and RPG mechanics go together very well, for me games are always better with numbers, whether its damage numbers, leveling up or stat progression, its pure dopamine

@@mathewhosier9739 the entire second half of your comment, I agree 100% with. Soulslike, metroidvania design go together like bbq and chicken. Awesome combination. As for the first half, I think grouping together Bloodborne and last faith is oversimplified, they’re just not that comparable. The only things they really have in common are some aesthetic choices, and leveling stats. Bloodborne is an all time great among the greats, and while the last faith is good, it’s no masterpiece. I also would say your being a bit hard on blasphemous. Its progression was more player skill based along with learning new moves like air dashes and stuff, sword upgrades, health upgrades etc. but the boss design, enemy design, world design, level design and style overall were really unique and well done I would say.

@@zanekorvek8643 wow that’s pretty interesting. I thought they were fairly similar in overall gameplay, while last Faith has way more variety in weapons, I thought blasphemous was much more inspired and finely tuned. To each their own though, I like both and last faith’s setting was awesome!

@@zanekorvek8643 I agree with that, I liked leveling up the stats. I always enjoy that in games, and the souls like vibes added a lot on top of the Castlevania aesthetic! Also, that was some thing I was missing and blasphemous, having any stats to level up.

Here’s my hot take opinion after playing them all multiple times: Blasphemous 2 < Last Faith < Bloodborne < Blasphemous 1. Bloodborne doesn’t win because of many aspects that can be narrowed down to its age. The fact that it hasn’t even gotten a meagre 60 fps patch should be a federal crime. Please update or remaster Bloodborne Sony please. 30 fps is becoming unplayable, meanwhile, blasphemous 1 stands as my all time favorite game ever by far, alongside Batman Arkham knight and titanfall 2.

@@alphax101-gaming2 I pretty much agree with your lineup but Bloodborne is at the top for me, but I’m biased. It is criminal though that it hasn’t had a remaster, I would love a remake. Doubt it’ll happen but maybe we’ll get lucky and get a remake of a couple old masterpieces

@ Bloodborne’s atmosphere is totally unique, the sheer terror and brutality of just the city streets alone is super impressive. They did an amazing job. I do always love to see people do more with “less” too, like in 2-D games.

@ For sure! Someone actually made an old school ps1 style remake of Bloodborne, it’s not 2D but it’s really awesome. I don’t think it’s the whole game maybe just like the first 1/3
