Love your videos, these Bloodborne minis have all been terrific! This guy definitely steals the show. Very much looking forward to doing mine and copying some of your style.

Thanks so much for the comment. Glad you've enjoyed them! Yeah the size of the Cleric Beast makes him pretty impressive out on the table. Good luck with yours!

Hey Matt, another great job 👍. I can't wait for my Mythic Battles: Ragnarok kickstarter to ship sometime after the new year. Lots of highly detailed and textured monsters and heros included in that game that are just made for this technique. I use contrast paints instead of washeswith this method of painting and I'm very pleased with the results on my zombicide minis. Well done again, stay healthy.

Hey T P. Yeah contrast paints would do the same job too. Although are they are bit thicker than washes? I don't have any contrast paints so I can't really do a comparison. I'm just wondering if they'd cover up the undercoat more than washes...

@@theplasticcanvas Hey Matt, yes they are definitely thicker than a wash. A wash is pretty much like coolade, just colored water that stains whatever it touches. Now picture adding so much sugar to that coolade that it turns it into more of a syrup. It's still translucent but it's thicker than before, therefore behaving more like a paint than a wash. I hope that makes sense lol. I love using them and sometimes I'll even use a corresponding colored wash on top of the contrast paint for added color and shading if I don't want the entire mini shaded in one overall tone. I would be willing to bet that if you give the contrast paints a try you will definitely be sold on them, especially when speed painting zombies and stuff like in your other videos. Take care and stay healthy.

Hey T P. I saw a video the other day on the new 'Speed Paints' being released by Army Painter and I thought of you explaining the Contrast Paints. Have you seen any of those videos and whether they look the same as Contrast or if they behave a bit differently?
@tp64983 жыл бұрын
@@theplasticcanvas Hi! Yes as a matter of fact I've been following the news on the new Army Painter Speed Paints and everything I've seen and read gives them glowing reviews. Many, if not all of the reviews I've seen or read by mini painters who were sent samples of the speed paints all say the same thing: What sets the speed paints apart from the contrast paints is that all the colors are the same in thickness, consistency and opaqueness. Not like the contrast paints where they differ greatly in viscosity and color density from color to color (some colors almost always need to be thinned by the contrast medium in order to look their best etc). Oh, and Army Painter insist they will work over any brand matt white primer, doesn't have to be their particular brand of matt white. Which is a stark contrast to citadels shameful marketing of their own 20 dollar primers. Hope this answers any of your questions 🙂

in what ratio u mix those washes?
@theplasticcanvas3 жыл бұрын
There was no certain ratio. I just kept adding more of whatever colour I felt there needed to be until I was happy with it. But with the skin it was 'mostly' blue because I didn't want the black wash overpowering it. For the fur, there was only a little yellow because too much yellow would make it look like 'zombie' fur which I didn't want. So that was mostly sepia and green.
