I agree, amazing what 1 man can due through the most high. I am Christian as I was raised. The Muslim religion is beautiful as well. May all of us be so blessed to have spirituality whatever it may be. Everything starts with a conversation. The one brother said after all these years of killing, and getting locked up, "what took us so long". Communication is key, Each one teach one. Just discoverd this today. Coming from a Sunni background i just want to say alhumdalilah for all the great work brother Mujahid has done in south central LA. Living in the UK from a small town outside of London, growing up in the 90’s i knew of the civil war going on in Americas back garden. So for this brother to do what he did at that time and to carry on without backing down he deserves a noble peace prize but i know the brother will say he has done this for the sake of Allah and his believers. May Allah grant you a long and happy life and give you the strength to carry on the goodwork. Ameen.

Go back to what they meant in the beginning but like you said TOGETHER! Nipsey had a voice and was doing good until he got assassinated. I remember a guy named og sharp that was kicked out of LA and moved here in Texas and another og from piru started the gang culture of the two. This was the end of the 80's and the beginning of the 90's. It got very serious and lost allot of friends and a cousin from it. RIP to nipsey and the others that are not here. If they REALLY wanted peace, the communities these gang members live in would work with the police to stop it and they would stop it almost immediately. But, most black people in these same neighborhoods refuse to do it. They view these gang members, as either, heroes, or, victims, and NOT as CRIMINALS, which is what all gang members really are. The gang members THEMSELVES do not want peace with each other, and, if you leave it up to them, there will never be peace with the other gangs. The communities will have to step up and stop it by working with Law Enforcement.

I am happy for all these Bloods and Crips that found a higher, safer, better, peacefuller form of life. I hope that they, through religious beliefs, changed towards being a good muslim, refraining from all the vices and horrible behaviour that were rampant in these communities. To me, it is unclear how much people converted and how much these neighbourhood changed for the best, as their inhabitants converted to Islam. I hear a lot of praising and I see a lot of happy people. But has the community changed as a whole? Usually the profitable business is taking over by others, whenever someone else quits... So?

38:00 - Why African-American Muslims associate Islam with being the religion of black people and Christianity as the "white man's" religion, is an historic fallacy. Islam came from the Arabian peninsula and thus spread to the caliphates occupying North Africa. It was then spread to West Africa where it was forcibly imposed on the various tribes who were practising ancestor worship and mostly animistic religions. The Arabs were brutal to the West African and south-east African populace for the most part where they also practised slavery, established their own slave trade and imposed forced labour upon blacks. So Islam is not a native religion of Africa, nor was the entire West African population (where the majority of African-American's descend from) converted. For all they know their four fathers were practising voodoo. Islam condones such behaviour toward infidels and apostates in the Koran; whereas Christianity [New Testament] and the message of Christ teaches to love your enemy. Islam the religion of black people? Hardly.
