Another job well done. My pointing is not the best. Dont have the patience like some so I tried flush pointing with a block of wood recently on an old wall and it matched up well with the original. Think I'll be doing that more now with the old imperial.

Nice job. I’d recommend the water repellant from permaguard. I use it on every pointing job I do. It’s also breathable so no moisture gets trapped behind it.

Lovely work . Next time you need to spray a load of product try the ghost buster spray pack . You wear it like a backpack and pump it side to side . I’ve also seen an electric diy style paint spray gun . It covers a lot but it’s a pita to refill as the tank is too small.

I would never use 240v tools outside in wet conditions, now retired but all my power tools were 110v as required by most building companies

Beautiful match got lucky finding those bricks. I had to tooth in a a doorway once and the demo guys. Got rid of all the left over brick. I only needed about 20 brick. I spent 3 days and travelled to brickyards in 3 states trying to find a buff colored brick to match. No luck the builder had to redesign the whole opening. What a nightmare

It is clear that no interim support needed for such a short span as the matrix of the existing bricking would suffice. Is there a known span limit for this or is a brickies eye and experience enough? I have built in timber and learned many tricks in spanning posts using cantilever.

Always drill out the toothings with a SDS then grind and they fall out, I could never leave a job like that with a closure in it, just not on would have to be three quarter bat.

I’m guessing your customer is a tad on “the spectrum “ wanting a clean wall. I loved the original arch and fill in and would have added timber trim to make it look like an existing shuttered winder. Flower box along the bottom would really have set it off. Mind you I live in the colonies with daily sunshine ☀️

Alex is my son and he is an improver . This job is all about experience and technique which he will never learn until someone (me) teaches him . So me watching and explaining things is all part of our daily routine plus if I was annoying him he would tell me himself 🧱👍🏽

😱 You guys really need some better access scaffolds with edge protection, before you have a serious accident...it’s just not worth it guys... also I used an electric mortar raker with a double disk set up and dust vacuum collection...was a great tool, but I can’t for life of me recall the name...!!!

@@steveunderhill6570 . As Alex is my son if he has had enough he would tell me believe me . He has never done this job on his Tod before and he is still learning plus it scares me to death letting him loose with the grinder but he has to learn . Plus if I think there is an easier way for him I I’ll always tell him . 🧱👍🏽
