im trying to learn this now and what im finding is the right hand gets all the attention from the listener but it's the left hand that has to keep it all together. Great job !!

@bevviebuns It's the Mixolydian mode in Bb. This is the same as being in the key of Eb BUT starting on the Bb as the 'first' note of the scale - a Bb scale using an Ab instead of A natural. It's also largely Pentatonic (5 notes - the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th notes of the scale). Add a few flattened 3rds and 5ths and there you have it. This 'intro' inspired me to improvise for about 5 minutes just using the material here. I really dig it. You will too. That's $100 for the 'lesson' please! Ha!

@lorddaedra75 Yeah youre right. G blues scale is pretty much G minor pentatonic with a #11, and Gminor is the relative minor to Bb. So this song is in Bb, if you wanted to solo you could use Bb major pentatonic with an added #9, which is exactly the same as G blues scale. Hope that makes sense :o)

It's a midifile from standard Roland module. I have do it for this Intro.

I think it's the "Mixolydian" mode (start on the 5th note of a major scale) and of course, contains loads of extra chromatic notes as well. It's the flattened 7th that gives it is characteristic sound. It's very PENTATONIC too. This is a great scale for improvising bluesy stuff, just as the "Dorian" scale is great for folky and a more 'medieval' sound (ask Sting!) Good 'intro', well played. I don't care for the 'Rhodes' sound though. A bit harsh. Then again, I've never heard the original!

don´t be blinded by a good wurlie sound - it is really an easy to emulate sound, and you will hardly find bad wurlitzer-patches in a pro synth,- if you want to check the sample quality, better look at the organs and rhodes!

Where does the *stab* come from in between bars? Did you MIDI that or multitrack it? Is it from the VR760 or something else not shown?

@MisterJSF7 жыл бұрын
@frh66687 жыл бұрын
@MisterJSF7 жыл бұрын

@bevviebuns sounds and looks like a G blues scale :)
