Someone made a comment elsewhere about how cool it is that the chorus echos the rhythm and feel OF beating someone down. Which I hadn’t thought about before, but is pretty accurate. Def check out their other stuff, and if you want live, there is footage of their pre-pandemonium tour of European feats. They even have a mini documentary on their KZbin about the tour and the bands background/how they got there. And the tour name was possibly the greatest name ever - the “Raj Against the Machine” tour

The Blue Goddess Kali is aptly represented here, here is a brief description: " Kali (/ˈkɑːliː/; Sanskrit: काली, IAST: Kālī), also referred to as Mahakali, Bhadrakali and Kalika (Sanskrit: कालिका), is a Hindu goddess who is considered to be the goddess of ultimate power, time and change. She is considered as a ferocious form of goddess Mahadevi, the supreme of all powers, or the ultimate reality. Kali's earliest appearance is when she emerged from Shiva. She is the ultimate manifestation of Shakti and the mother of all living beings. The goddess destroys evil in order to protect the innocent. Over time, Kali has been worshipped by devotional movements and Tantric sects variously as the Divine Mother, Mother of the Universe, Principal energy Adi Shakti.[1][2][3] Shakta Hindu and Tantric sects additionally worship her as the ultimate reality or Brahman.[3] She is also seen as the divine protector and the one who bestows moksha or liberation.[1]"

I'm not a metal listener or even a rock listener, but I respect anyone creating new sounds, whether those sounds are to my taste or not. Most of their songs focus too much on the bangy-screamy sound than I like, but it's still fascinating to watch because they're fusing sounds that others haven't attempted to fuse. They're also doing a good job of creating a signature sound while adding enough variation to it that it doesn't get samey. And the message is perfect. But their song "Yaad" is absolutely beautiful. They have skill for melodic music. Hopefully they do more in the future.

With how they incorporate rap-like vocals and the name of their first 'world tour'' and their politics, I think they are very much inspired by Rage Against The Machine. Which were pre-nu-metal I would say. The harsh rap-like vocals is, I would say a new addition, in newer songs. You can notice it too in the other latest song. They have an AMAZING documentary of their origin-story/first tour and them developing into a live band/how they are funded, you really should check it out. Don't know if a reaction is possible, it's long, but maybe with a bunch of edits it would work.

What a phenomenally edited, flowy-yet-doesn't-substitute-listening-to-the-song-directly, thoughtful, value-adding reaction. I've watched a TON of reactions to this song/band, and yours is one of the few that inspires me to check out the rest of your channel. I'm especially grateful that you guys unawkwardly and sensitively addressed the lyrical themes instead of just playing it (too) safe and sticking to solely the musical discussion. You guys really did this justice and handled it super professionally. I really dig it. Thanks for being a rare reaction channel that doesn't just play a song, gape at it, call it awesome a few times, and then ask for subscriptions. This band deserves the sincere appreciation you gave it. (Jayant's long screams in that dramatic ending especially get me, goosebumps every time ... feels like he's ritualistically cathartically voicing all the aggregated rage and fury and frustration and tragedy of all victims everywhere. So. Fking. Powerful.) Edit: I'm not usually one to make requests, especially of a channel I just discovered, but I think if you guys haven't heard of the band Transgressive yet, you might really enjoy the originality, riffs, wordplay, lyrical themes (trans rights and women's rights), et cetera. The bandleader Alicia Cordisco was one of the founders of powerprog band Judicator, and she's a prolific genius. She also just released a thrashyproggyeclectic album with one of her other bands, Project: Roenwolfe. I hope you look into Transgressive if you've got room in your queue!

Indian culture respects women a lot that's why we even Pray to Female Gods like Kaali Maa ( Her other form is Shakti ) as depicted in the video ( The female dancer with face paint ). I mean women or as general people get abused everywhere, its not a cultural thing. In Indian culture female is depicted as Shakti which literally means "Energy, ability, strength, effort, power, capability", we have been having female rulers and freedom fighters throughout our history and till date our current president is a female, we have great female Rishis and great minds throughout history. In India we have festivals dedicated to the female members of the house be it a little baby's wife, a sister and a Mother. Sorry for the long comment just thought I should say it 🙏

I like your comments about bands bridging the gap. Bands that widens the audience for metal gets way to little cred. In Sweden we had a band that made metal out of kids songs and classic hits. It was for kids and they were huge in the late 90s. All "true" metal fans laughed at them. But back then metal was in a slope and they exposed tens of thousands of kids to metal that would never heard it without them. Basically bridging a whole generation of kids. I've always said they were VERY important even though they were kind of a parody band. They deserves praise for that.

I think that “cultural appropriation” isn’t particularly valuable in an artistic sense. All art takes from influences, and it’s fine to wear those influences on your sleeve. I think that cultural appropriation is about lack of respect for what your taking- like if a rando sorority girl wears something spiritually significant to another people as a costume. Like I think there’s a conversation about how societies value “non-native” influences when framed through different lenses, but that’s not about whether or not the artist respects their influences.
