Thank you for this video and song! I'm a clinical therapist in the United States. I work with many children and teens who are being bullied, and I have started using this video as part of my introductory work with them. They have been mesmerized by the story the video tells - not one of them predicted the twist. After the emotions the video brings up, they are in a perfect place to hear the encouragement in the message at the end - the phrase "Never see yourself from the eyes of the bully" is very powerful, and several of them leave my office repeating these words. I can't promise they will all become Bloodywood fans, but I subscribed to your Patreon. Thank you, Bloodywood, for this gift to all of us - your courage and compassion is making a difference.

This song made more than 25 years of my life finally fall into place and left me completely devastated and more empowered than I ever was before. I was bullied at school for 9 years, became depressed at 16, turned to alcohol when I was 20, spent my early 20's as a suicidal, semi-functioning alcoholic. Now I've turned my life around and became the happiest and kindest version of myself than I ever was. But I never properly processed what happened to me in the past. Until now. These lyrics are exactly what my inner child needed to finally find his peace. We survived and he knows, his suffering was not in vain. Thank you, guys.

He was hospitalized a few years back from bullies, he cracked his head among other injuries. He's worked really hard to stay peaceful and be the better person, and as he gets older he's found the confidence to verbally intervene when he sees other kids being bullied to protect them and keep situations from escalating to violence. Music like this helps him feel encouraged to keep walking that path, even when it's not easy. Thank you, very much. You guys are amazing artists and people. ❤

I was 9 years old at that time. I was 18 when I realized I was « someone ». At 21, I was bullied in a relationship with a toxic boyfriend (alcoholic, bully, addicted to video games...). 10 years after this: I’m who I am, with my past, my scars, my fears.... and your message is very important: bullying is wrong. This song is the epitome of amazing metal songwriting in Hindi. Don’t get me wrong, I love the English parts but Hindi is on another level. The entire refrain/chorus is just pure gold as far as lyrics are concerned. “In darkness, I am of the lineage of the rays of the sun” that’s probably the closest translation of the last line of the verse. This is unironically the best song I’ve ever heard. I have no words. My only complaint about this band is that you only have a small handful of songs, but that’s counteracted by the fact that all of them are some of the best pieces of audio I’ve ever heard. Fucking perfect.

I was a bully, I used to terrorize this classmate just because he was the son of the teacher that used to make fun of me in front of everybody for not knowing math. 10 years later I contacted this classmate to apologize in person, and at the same time, his father, the teacher, apologized to me, and we had a good meal to clear things up. I still regret what I did though, and I make sure I help bullied people as hard as I can.

Thank you for your honest perspective on bullying. Yes, often talking out or responding makes it worse. I think there is not a great way to stop bullying. I was bullied very badly in junior high and freshmen year of highschool. There was one boy in particular who was very horrible to me for 4 years. In my mid-20s, I encountered him again. He turned out to be a fan of my band. I saw him at the bar at a show, and was floored to see him there. All the pain flooded back. My friend, who knew about the bullying, decided to approach him and talk to him. After whatever she said, he sought me out. He didn't apologize. Instead, he told me that he always knew I'd be on stage one day and that he remembers watching me play guitar at a choir concert in high school and just being amazed at how good I was. He told me that he loves our music and wishes he could play an instrument as well as me. I decided to not address the bullying. Instead, I treated him as a fan and got satisfaction from his smile and kindness in that moment. Now I hope that I made him feel valued that night. I hold no animosity. I write this because I know there are kids being bullied that are watching this today. Your pain is real. Their pain is real. They do not handle it well. They take it out on you. They probably cannot acknowledge, even with your compassion, that they are in pain and are causing pain. But, you are empathetic and you are a good person. There is NOTHING wrong with you. It truly is all them. Do everything you can to survive it. On the otherside of that, know, truly KNOW, nothing about you was ever the cause. Often, the bullies are imitating what they experience at home. Think on that. What they are doing to you may very well be what they live with from an adult. Your pain is real, but so is theirs. Survive it, and be better. Be what they weren't able to be. And then, many years later, let it go. Just let it be at peace. Know they were doing the best they could with what their life offered them. Know that you were NEVER the reason. You were NEVER a problem. You WERE what they wished they could be and have. That's why you were the target. I love you. YOU are VALUABLE.

Thank you. Me being an american I hear of alot of music that say get back at your bullies. This is the first time hearing just endure; your true struggle isn't with them it's yourself; take those times and learn from them; work on yourself; Now as i bleed i feed the seed, born of weakness finally free; For my own ship, I bear the oar; My shield strengthens with scars; Find love under your own skin. Thank you again. I know someone somewhere said words like these before but sometimes it's said in a way that just clicks with you.❤🔥

I was bullied in school. One of the worst bullies actually had a hard time at home with his dad. That does not excuse his behavior, but it might explain why he did it. Another guy simply did not understand that he was bullying me. He thought that he was joking and being funny. I tried being friends with him a few years ago but he acted pretty much the same. So i confronted him and said that he wasn't funny and i did not want anything more to do with him. He changed his tune a bit when i did that and he said that he thought that i was a cool dude, but it was too late.

The message at the end bought me to tears, cuz even though I'd always been aware (and always found solid evidence to back up what I say) - that bullies/trolls/haters use their personal issues to take out their bs onto me (or other people) - their negative behavior still does affect me even today, (especially considering that I am a black/mixed race, lgbtq person suffering from depression etc, is half blind, who lives close to the middle of the "Western" side of the world where the epidemic of "karen/ken" type (extremist) bullies exist. Those people often don't regret their actions/ behaviors cuz they believe they are justified, nor do they ever apologize for said behavior either and they usually have a tendency to stalk you, make hate propaganda about you and try to find people who didn't like you to side with them. It's too the point now where some of us have to call in the Police or file for lawsuits just to deal with such people. It sucks to feel like you can never be safe anywhere you go.

how did I absolutely missed that the paralel of the video is not just that who we think is the bullied kid grown up is actually the bully, but that he is bullied as a grown up the same way he did because violence is a cylce that can only truly be ended by having the strength of forgiveness and uncerstanding freedom

I often return to this song when I'm having a rough time, or feeling helpless and hopeless. It makes me cry every time. The words in the chorus speak so deeply to my inner child, who hasn't healed from years of torment, and struggles with self worth and feeling like I belong. Even though my pronunciation is probably no good, I love singing this song. I found this song when I was at my worst, and near suicidal. I don't think that I have broken out into tears like this in a very long time. I was bullied to horrifically as a child that my parents had to take me out of public school to home school me. What is most poignant about this video is the fact that I struggled so hard out of poverty to put myself through school to become a nurse. I am a Licensed Practical Nurse with nine years under my belt working the Medical/Surgical floor at a local rural hospital. I am also in my last semester of school working on my Associates Degree to become a Registered Nurse. I feel the struggles presented in this video and was shocked to see the ended. I burst into tears as I know as a nurse that disease, poor health and death affects us all. I would gladly care for my former bullies loved ones like I do any other patient. Granted, it would be nice if they could see the reality of things and appreciate life on a level field. I carry great traumas with me from my past and my scars are innumerable. But as a health care professional, every life that presents itself to me is worthy of my best effort.
