The fact that you are Googling the "language of India" and taking an interest in India is what makes Bloodywood so fucking cool. I'm not Indian. My kids now know where India is on the map.

Bloodywood uses like an 80:20 mix of Hindi and Punjabi languages, respectively, which are some of the more well-known indian languages outside of India as well. And prrtty different from the languages spoken in the southern parts of india. Hindi and Punjabi share a lot of similarities, too, although gotta mention Jayant (the vocalist) has solid punjabi undertone to him, assuming that's his family/upbringing, and it also kind of captures a very 2000s bollywood music essence. Also, this song really captures the sense of the captial city pretty well. The good, the bad, the worse.

Excellent pun for an excellent band, excited for their sophomore album! This one is the "Gaddaar" for this album, really sounds like the album opener. edit: the language they speak is Punjabi, but they also speak Hindi, as in this music video. New Delhi being Northern India primarily speaks Hindi

Absolutely love this track (& the band in general). Been obsessed with India since I was a kid. India has one of the highest language densities in the world. Hindi is the most common language but there are literally hundreds of others. If I remember correctly this band sings in Hindi & Punjabi. The latter is mostly spoken in the northern part of the country. Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, & Tamil are a couple others I can think of off the top of my head.

The language spoken in the song is Hindi. It's the main language spoken in Northern and Central India. But, as you go further north, you'll find Kashmiri. To the west, it's Punjabi and Rajasthani. East is Bengali, Assamese, Manipuri, etc. Southern India speaks Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, etc. Too many languages here! Sometimes, even we feel as foreigners in some of our states, as we can't speak their local language.

Blooldywood is F-in cool. Nice old-school (200Xs) groove/tribal riifs. Their plus/stand out point, imo, is the quality of the video clips (Bollywood powered maybe :) ). Similar tribal vibe bands I can remember: Sepultura/Soulfly, Ektomorf, SteppenDoom, The HU, Alien Weaponry, etc.

This song is heavy. Somehow with each drop they make it sound a little heavier than the previous drop, and their are several hard drops in this EXCELLENT song. To me, this song is Gaddar on steroids.

The subject of languages spoken is incredibly complex. India has the highest number of classical languages in any country (11). There are mainly 2 language families in India:- Sanskrit (which is a part of Proto-Indo-Euproean language family tree) and Dravidian language family tree (Native Indian language tree). Language spoken in this song is hindi which has emerged from Sanskrit thats why it is similar to English, Portugese, French as their predecessor is Latin (a language from Proto-Indo-European tree). All the 100s of languages spoken here are derived from either one of these trees or from the interaction of both.

We're low but the song is a juxtaposition of Delhi as a home for those who live there but also a dangerous place needs to be worked on and nurtured It's a beautiful city with a lot of beautiful people that is unfortunately little by corruption and racism The city itself is a mixing pot, you have Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, Christians atheist and everything in between. I was born in America but my family is from India. Been to Delhi once, it's truly a experience, one of the best cities I've ever been scared of visiting haha

So about India's languages: it's actually incredibly complex. Hindi is the "main" language and the one used here, but that language is mostly used in northern India and originally came over from the Middle East. Southern India has many languages that are part of a completely separate language family called Dravidian. Dravidian languages are so different from Hindi that linguistically Hindi is closer to English than it is to the Dravidian languages.

Hindi did not came from middle East 😭😭 Hindi has roots to Sanskrit but Persian is mixed with standard khadi boli to make it hindi i suppose...but hindi altogether did not come from middle East. Yes some part of Hindi vocabulary has Persian influence...please stop this misinformation

Also Hindi is not used in northern region. Your geography is weak... uttarakhand, himachal ladakh etc use pahari and Tibetan languages

Sadly, you pushed paused. And I never finished watching. The one thing that gets you a return visit/second chance is the fact you're from Australia. Until then, "Good day, mates" - all the best...

People are tough nuts to crack. So, again, the answer to your thought provoking question is - yup
