That was amazing. Great production. $2k seems reasonable for hand made skis
@FourFront996 жыл бұрын
All ski's are handmade.
@someusername1216 жыл бұрын
It’s really not that reasonable. World class skiers use factory made skis costing half as much. The “mass produced” stuff is also going to have better R&D and materials in it.

In a lot of ski build videos they are using vacume bags and/or heat while pressing. What are advantages/disadvantages from this. Was surprised to not see it used here.

I've spent several thousand dollars in skis alone in the last 4 years. I will not spend another penny on skis until I have enough for a custom set from this company
@julianmuller6686 жыл бұрын
He says that there is not really a company making machines to produce skis. That is not true - there is one not far from me in Carinthia (Austria) and I know of multiple companies making various machines specifically for the production of skis, snowboards etc. here in Europe. These machines are expensive tho. Also, 2k does not seem reasonable to me as a really nice pair of Atomic/Fischer/Rosisgnol skis is overkill for most people at 1/4 of the price, even for professional riders. I guess the skis tehy are producing are not about that, which is fine to me, I like the way they are customizable.
@robertduncanmuir6 жыл бұрын
It is rather typical not to know what is going on elsewhere (especially in the home of alpine skiing)
@shrimpfriedrice4945 жыл бұрын
What do you mean by overkill? The prices of those companies are pretty average. Besides that, price doesn't determine the characteristics of a ski. Expensive skis can work really well for some people, but not so great for others. Every ski has advantages and disadvantages and none are straight up better than another.

Bahahaha, I was thinking this the whole time! He's actually so backseat too.
@benfowle31925 жыл бұрын
@@guyleckenby7567 it may look like back seat but in powder you arent actually skiing the same gradient as the slope. even when centered on skis your tails will sink slightly and you have less of a slope angle than the mountain. What the issue is here, is that his inside knee is coming in slightly and he needs to roll his inside knee more into the turn direction. This will stop his weight being too much on the outside for soft snow conditions thus preventing the outside ski from sinking away and losing the 'a-frame' creating a more 'stacked' leg alignment.
