I have been LOVING builders talent! The 0/4 bird on turn two just shuts down most aggro decks, the lvl 2 feeds into and is fed by so many synergies that it fits cleanly in the Abzan wedge, and the last level can get you out of a bad top-deck war if you have a carrot cake or banishing light to pick up from the grave, i love it so much

Since you didnt cover blue/white i thought id put my two cents in based on my one draft ive done as it (i know, it's statistically non-valid haha, but i think the point is valid regardless): dont be fooled into thinking you need an even split of flyers and non-flyers. The archtype cards suggest you want both flyers and non-flyers, so i think most people are probably aiming for a 50/50 split between those types. But i think its better to go maybe a 3:1 ratio or 4:1 ratio in terms of flyers:non-flyers. I drafted my deck and was a bit worried when i realised i had very few non-flyers. But then when I started playing the deck i realised that i regularly had at least one non-flyer, and that's all i needed. All my birds that cared about non-flyers could pump that one non-flyer, allowing it to get in, while still getting in through the air themselves. I imagine it made the opponent's decisions harder too when they had to decide whether to stop the birds that are pecking in, or stop the one land creature that was receiving all the buffs. The other point, which i guess is probably obvious to some but maybe not all, is that blue/white flyers is essentially a tempo/aggro based deck, so combat tricks like Crumb And Get It are king over slow removal spells like Banishing Light (not that Banishing Light is bad, i just think i want Crumb and Get It since a lot of the time you play a bird pre-combat for its effect, and you want to be able to leave up your trick still too). You're not necessarily trying to stop their threats or value engine, you're just racing them down to 0 qnd cheap tricks like Crumb, Shore Up, bounce/stun spells, are a good way to make them think they are going to win the race only for them to realise theyre a turn behind at the last moment.

17Lands stats suggest that UW is less a flyer deck (though it helps with Kastral and Patchwork Banner) and more just generic tempo with Carrot Cake, Shoreline Looter, Brightblade Stoat, Harvestrite Host, etc.

I actually haven't liked Tidecaller Mentor much in UB. By the time I have threshold I'm usually in the later game and looking to grind out opponents rather than simply set them back on tempo. I'd always take Mindwhisker or a removal over it, or even Thought Shucker since it's a 2-drop and the 3 slot is often crowded.

If they have RB open on turn 2, they might have savor instead of take out the trash. Tricky spot

It's true, and I thought of that first too, but I think in that case you still get value from making the food token (and they might not want to kill your duo as a result since using a removal on a 2/2 that already got value is a feels bad). So on average the Duo is the better play because the upside of getting 1 or 2 extra points of damage (when they're likely going to be the beatdown deck) isn't as much as the upside of them having to use their removal on your 2/2 that already got value.

I think the analysis that they are likely to have Savor or Take out the trash is correct, but both should be about as likely given that both are high picks in RB, even though I pick Savor higher cause it goes in better decks. That’s why you should play the Curator rather than the Duo, in about 50% of the cases if they have a removal and it is Savor, they have no play and waste two mana that didn’t develop their board. The Curator isn’t a card particularly worth slowplaying either, it would be different if it was say a Dour-port Mage.

I'm over the Cultivator. The synergy is too precise. You need food before it drops and multiple copies on the table coupled with finding your cache grabs. Hard to put together in this format.

@@limitedlevel-ups thanks it's kinda ridiculous how much I use it while I'm actually drafting back and forth back and forth but it has helped me a ton in the last 6 or 7 sets so it's definitely a key tool

There is no way the MTGA shuffler is random, sometimes the algorithm decides you must lose. I just played best of 3, 5 floods with just about double lands as spells and one screw. My deck had 16 lands and two of those 1 mv artifacts to search for land. Very frustrating
