Realizing thanks to a good eye from people on discord and viewers that we had an illegal play here! Spoilers ahead in this comment The wheel Shane casts off of the rite of flame mana shouldn't have been able to be cast as Rite should have been cast in combat, I believe in the game Shane thought he was in second main and we missed this, new commander and all we aren't used to how it functions. Ironically, I think Shane NOT casting the wheel would have been the better play anyways as he would have been in a better spot next turn with his vamp tutor for any of his other 1 card combos instead of drawing all of us into more gas but it is what it is! Cruelclaw is still a sick commander! also as another commenter noticed, I can't finale at the end under deafening silence, luckily this one is a minor one as I drew my deck with infinite mana and I am on creature combos (kiki-jiki) that I would have been able to cast here, in the moment i just threw down the easy wincon for simplicity not realizing the error

Can't Finale under DefSilence post Pyro

Oof good catch! Missed a couple things this episode. Luckily this one was a small error as I have creature based wincons in the deck (I’m on Kiki Jiki lines) but just presented finale for the “easy” wincon in the moment not realizing it! Good catch though and thanks for checking out the vid

Baylen is so powerful! All it needs is a Dockside + Emiel flicker and it wins the game

i'm not sure how i feel about Baylen, he wants you to create tokens which is neat and leans really hard on white. But then the other colors seem to just be "slapped" onto him. Part of my problem even with Cedh is how easy the board gets wiped or how you have to normally play with few to no nonland permanents to achieve doing things. But with the right things tokens are "not hard" to generate and stuff like Seedborne Muse exists so you can get more use out of tapping.

@@MageSkeleton my list I leaned a LOT less into tokens than most lists I see. My list is in the description if you’re interested! I play a more general Naya good stuff pile that looks to stick good Naya value pieces on field to transition into a strong mid game and a high redundancy of tutors to assemble combos and use Baylen as an outlet to infinite token combos via Rosie cotton or dockside. It’s a fun list but does have the problem of no blue and losing to board wipes which have become more common with the rise of Nadu unfortunately Fun deck though for sure, I enjoyed it a good amount in the games I got to play it :)

@@FarNorthMtGhonestly, ive replaced kiki pod stuff with extra combats, and leaned into a more turbo gameplan comparatively The myrel tokens will pay for aggravated assault themselves after a few combats which you can start with dockside or mana from a breach line you used to filter through your deck, it also allows redundancy with godo in the 99, its something that baylen can uniquely do reliably in naya, whereas pod is just another minsc/rocco situation with some extra flavor cards

That’s really interesting actually. I’ll have to test that out!

@FarNorthMtG3 ай бұрын
@@RyanRienks-kx2rm see my pinned comment! I had already drawn my deck and had infinite mana through Baylen. In the moment I just threw down the easy wincon without thinking which wouldn’t work due to silence but I am also on Kiki Jiki lines which I could have won with through Deafening Silence :) thanks for checking out the video!

Why didnt cruelclaw just t2 top deck tutor for peer??

@@lukehenson2513 It’s not super clear in the video but the Vamp tutor is the card he tutored for off of the gamble! He did that to set up for next turn then decided to do the wheel instead of holding the tutor for next turn

@@robertochonchi3899 yeeep that was a mistake but luckily didn’t effect much as I am on Kiki Jiki lines that I could have played through the Deafening Silence anyways. I think it was just a case of I’m presenting wincon to the table looking through my deck and just grabbing the easy one I saw 😂

That wheel play wasn’t legal. You can cast the rite, but not the wheel, as you were still in combat.

yep had people point this out on discord when I posted it there! Just left a comment myself about it. I think Shane was thinking that he was in second main and could still cast the Cruelclaw card in second main, new cards and first time playing the deck it's easy to miss things. I say it in my other comment but the funny thing is, it was probably a better play from him not to wheel in the first place anyways but it is what it is. Thanks for watching regardless!

@@rexone9564 I think the confusion is cruel claw. And a lot of red effects let you play until END of turn ? Easy mistake to make
