I know you love brewing janky things, and valley floodcaller seems to be a perfect jank build around! It’s almost a jeskai ascendancy. For standard the only mana creature initially is poison dart frog, but mocking bird can turn any mana dork into a bird (which valley flood caller cares about). If you move outside of standard, Kami of whispered hopes copied by a mockingbird will scale with mana and floodcaller as long as the rest of the deck is draw spells! I predict temur could be the best version of the deck, but an Agatha’s soul cauldron with a mana dork or a glarb to play things off the top and surveil could also be synergistic!

Yeah< i need to figure out how to combo with that card. I wish there was another mana dork that was the proper creature type, would make it a lot easier. We need a Cryptolith Rites to come along and turn everything into dorks.

⁠@@MTGGoldfishI run Valley Floodcaller in my Clement self bounce deck, and it’s insane with the commander’s static mana ability. I recommend it, frogs have been so much fun in commander. A couple of the support cards for the theme are rather strong, too. Clement functions like a mini cryptolith rite that gives you extra etbs.

40:26 I think the biggest punt in the video was actually right here, I think you should have kept the fleshgorger on the board to sacrifice to the greeds gambit. Trading for a bat doesn't really do a whole lot for you, and it means that your opponent is gonna be in a more difficult position. If you stick two vein rippers, you might've been able to win.

I’m using Harvester of Misery in my brew. Using it as early removal discarding itself. Then reanimate and make a copy later with Rebirth if I need to wipe the board. -4,-4 to all other creatures has came in clutch several times. It kills the 1/1 copy but the 5/4 remains.

Coiling rebirth was great in limited, i kept hitting the 5 cost bunny that makes 2 bunnies when it enters, with having the when a creatures enters gain a life on the field. 5 mana, 6 creatures 6 life

16:30 - I actually had a game today where me and my opponent were doing nothing but drawing lands. I had a bramble familiar that I was swinging with up until they had their own 2/2 blocker. I was just, playing land after land. They got a few artifacts and enchantments that didn't really do anything down. Annoyingly whenever I did get a card I could play, they'd have something to get rid of it or counter it. Nothing really happened for like, 10+ turns. I did end up losing because they ended up getting a huge board of artifact creatures and artifacts (thanks synthesizer). I drew down to like, 20-30 cards in deck and didn't find my season of gathering to board wipe them

I've been playing an izzet convoke deck that uses Valley Floodcaller with Stoke the Flames and Meeting of Minds to get free spellcasts and combo off into crazy explosive turns. It's really, really fun but kind of relies on you getting the right draws (even running a ton of card draw doesn't help as much as you'd hope) and I don't really think it holds up against the top tier decks in the meta. I think it could be really good with just a couple more cards that support its gameplan though, and I feel like there's a distinct possibility that someone who's better at Magic than me might be able to crack it. Or maybe I just really hope I'm missing something and it's better than I realize because man when the pieces come together it's one of the most fun decks I've played.

I've never gotten reanimator to work as a plan B. if I don't make reanimator the main plan, I either: never draw the reanimator cards or I can't get good creatures in the graveyard.

Heartfire Challenger in Izzet Otters is... An odd choice. Like, are they just missing wild cards, and it's a placeholder? Idek. Surely, if they were gonna run a mouse, Emberheart Challenger would be a better choice, since it helps them 'draw', so they have more fuel? Edit: I feel Vaultborn Tyrant would be a great fit in a Jund Ramp version of this deck.

I'm gonna build a commander deck with Cruelclaw and I'll run about 50 lands, and 49 of the most busted cards, once I connect with him, I discard a land and cast something like Megatron, or an Eldrazi, all for the cost of 1 land discarded lol

So, I’ve recently realized Simulacrum Synthesizer is a direct powercreep of a card from only one year ago. It’s a common named Eye of Malcator. It’s an artifact that costs 2 and a blue, when it etb scry 2 and it becomes a 4/4 Phyrexian Eye creature until end of turn whenever another artifact enters under your control. Simulacrum Synthesizer is almost the same except it creates bodies and the artifacts have to have a mana value 3 or greater.

Audio is a bit echo-y on the microphone and the game audio is kinda weird in general this episode. Microphone is more difficult to hear, game is real obvious that it's weird, but it's also kinda quiet compared to you talking, so for the most part it's not the worst

I tried going full cruelclaw by using no cards with CCM 3 or less except cruelclaw and etali's favor and then relying on virtue (white) phyrexian fleshgrorger to make targets for favor so I always have cruelclaw and the whole deck is just expensive heavy hitting cards xD funny to play not really consistent tho

Seth played something similar on the channel a while ago in Pioneer. Obviously you'll need to change some things, but the changes are fairly straightforward like replacing Ledger Shredder with Duelist of the Mind Mage and some different card draw and counter spells for the non-lands. The video is called "My Card Draw Will Literally Kill You".

Use the enchantment "Conspiracy". Its a 3BB enchantment that says "As Conspiracy enters, choose a creature type. Creatures you control are the chosen type. The same is true for creature spells you control and creature cards you own that aren't on the battlefield." I mean...if thats a card available in MTG Arena.
