“Nobody was talking about a drug addict in 1990, probably because we were all… High.” LMFAO. Groundbreaking show, brilliant acting on every level And a massive influence on anyone in any of those age ranges. I always admired the fact that there was a broad range of experience and age from both male and female perspectives in that show. It was never trite; it was never over bearing, and always stayed (Sometimes just) below the threshold of heavy-handed, even when it was doing a “very special episode“. Very much a Pioneer show.

I remember when i saw this sitcom for the 1st time with my mom & my 2 kids in October of 1990. Because i was a single teenage father 19 years old in the hood on the Southside of Chicago with 2 AMAZING kids a 2 year old son and a 4 month old daughter. My mom and I had just come from probate court and I got full custody of my babies and i was so EXCITED & NERVOUS about being a teenage single father trying to figure out what to do with my life. I loved watching this show with my mom & my 2 AMAZING babies bc, it kind of touched on some of the pressures & stressful things that i had going on in my life at that time! Nice to see the cast all grown and up and looking good.👊🏿👍🏿👌🏿

Fantastic staff behind the scenes. This show was and still is a gem. 🥰😍🤩

Living in the 80s and 90s as a kid you have a totally different experience with the series you watched And to that end Living the experience and watching it on television is a totally different thing than watching it on KZbin to day even if you're a struggling teenager That is the reason it was better then than now Just saying 🇧🇻
@SkyGypsy Жыл бұрын
@@staceyboomboom8031 I agree with you. I'm 65 and my kids watched during the 80s & 90s. I watched in the 60s & 70s. My husband and I watch on FireTV. You can find literally anything & everything on youtube. That's different. Back in the day you were locked into programming by ABC, NBC, CBS, & PBS. I don't miss that. Commercials still sucked, but it was okay bc that's when you got up to go to the bathroom. SitComs were probably more stupid, but IDK, I can't stand to watch them. I hate laugh tracks bc they imply we don't know when to laugh without prompting. Special effects have continued to evolve, getting better since the 50s. I think maybe TV shows trigger memories like music does and when people think of certain TV shows it brings them back to goodtimes.

To me, Ted Wass will always be Danny from "Soap". His rapid-fire comedy exchanges with Richard Mulligan weren't gold, they were platinum! One of the great things about Blossom was that they handled serious topics without being too heavy-handed about it, a trap the far too many 80s and 90s sitcoms fell into. Also, Buzz, the grandfather (played by Bernard Hughes) was hilarious.
