When I watched this I was already late on all these classic gangster type movies. Back then they just never intrigued me. So, Idkeh this held my attention then but for some reason it always stuck. Especially this scene. Thats the saddest sh ever. Fast forward, I remember telling a lawyer that this is how I could pic my baby's father ending up. Sure enough... yesterday, my kid turned 14. & Yesterday, they finally sentenced her dad. Hes got 7 yrs. & if the courts got jokes, man, nothing screams louder than a slap in the face to remind you, hey? For every yr you're in here, you can now think of your first kid. Your daughter. When ppl ask me about him idek what to think. When I think of him, I mainly think of my kid. & stuff like this. Personally, I have no use for him. But I hurt for my kid. The fact that he talks sh about me even locked up tho. & Man :/, if he was only that interesting. What a pos. I remember saving... his whack weak lame sh on several occasions. Anyways, what a lost cause. Id never use these words out loud. But I did wanna watch this w/ her. Bc 🤷♀️ she's not getting any younger. Poor kid will be a young adult by the time he gets out. Hope it was worth it... lil girly, not so lil girly is maaaad. Ohhh she mad. Her words, he's never hearing from her. And honest, I never encouraged that. He fs up fine on his own.

I felt every second of this scene. My daughter stopped speaking to me 3 years ago, shes 9500 miles away. I often sit and imagine her walking through the front door of my home...her home. I don’t think he does, I think he regrets fucking up at the last part and getting busted cause if it weren’t for that he would’ve been fine, tbh he’s just unlucky cause there’s multiple points where he’s about to accomplish something then he gets fucked over, he also seems pretty happy in his recent interviews and he has a girlfriend ( I think, idk if he still does but he used to when he first got out)

Truly heart-rending. What he did was legally wrong, but his love for his daughter never diminished. What a emotionally sad scene.
@ryarbrough1195 Жыл бұрын
No. He didn't care about his daughter....because again,and again, he chose the life over what would have served his family. He did not love his daughter. He chose the life that robbed his daughter of a stable, predictable childhood, and her dad. Selfish.
@edwardlambert3246 Жыл бұрын
@@ryarbrough1195 I do not disagree with you about what you stated. Yes, George was selfish in the fact that he became addicted to not just the drugs, but the lifestyle that went with it. He enjoyed doing what he did and he could have gotten out of the business a lot sooner than what he attempted to do at the end. He put himself before his daughter, and I myself do not agree with that. Although his actions for the most part said that he didn't love her, I think that he started to see some of the wrong of his ways before he inevitably went to prison long-term. So I just based my opinion on those actions. I like to think that he always did love her, but he never properly showed that he cared, or was there for her until it was too late.

I remember watching this as a kid and not understanding why they had to end the movie this way but it will always be such a powerful ending. George did horrible things and prison was what he deserved but the way he was set up just seems wrong in so many ways. I understand that this man had his chances and chose the wrong path to redemption but man sometimes you just can’t help but to sympathize for those who just wanted to do something good for once and needed to do what they only know how to do in order to make ends meet. I’m sure the movie hollywoodtized a lot of this story but this ending really shows how it never is worth it to give up your time and life for quick and easy money. But fuck everyone who fucked Georgie over, they all should be Locked up with him

This end scene is a gift to the real George. His daughter has never visited him in prison as indicated by the postscript in the movie. The director wanted to remain true to the people who helped make this film a reality so no actual depiction of a reunion. The scene is played as a figment of George's imagination which, I'm sure, is pretty close to his wishes. This is the filmmaker's gift to George, making his wish come to life on screen. The rest is left to God and time.

Ain't that the truth Drug friends are not real will sell you down the river to save their own skin and back. He even gave some a raise before the bust. Too nice a drug smuggler they would of respected him if he was more stern. Would of been amazing to see George know what was going to happen and leave for CA penniless. With his daughter.. Leave the drugs with the other guys

Is this the saddest part of the movie, get some how I feel his incarceration was unfair. As I saw the movie and as soon as Christina was born he stopped dealing in cocaine I believe for over 5 years. Like all stupid women, his wife invited all his friends who are related to the cartel and it was really her fault he got caught for the years he was selling. In today's world 🌎 the market for cocaine is so huge. I don't think that George realized the extreme consequences of what he had done especially after his daughter was born. Your sins are carried with you as you age. So when he got caught he never saw Christina again. As a mom I know that the greatest Love of All is that of beingb a parent!! I never found out if he ever reconciled with her or not. If anybody knows please reply. Thank you
