The lack of injuries is the whole key... I had no one... lifted weights and broke machines WITHOUt any drugs... but the injuries from sacrificing myself in football and martial arts was the deteriorating factor... like you said Matt ...injuries are the factor

Feels good to know I've intuitively picked up on his main point. Grind power and explosive reflex power together make for amazing lifts. I'D ADD TO THIS HOLD STRENGTH. We focus so much on moving the weight but not so much on controlling it. I love holding lockout on an overhead until I feel like the bar is about to come back down and crush me. Then you still need to lower it back down to your chest without crushing your clavicles. 💪 Don't forget you pause reps boys and girls EDIT: My new mega set. I want to strict press my bodyweight (180) by the end of the year and my Max to date is 145. Realizing I need to load the spine and getting a feel for having 180 above my I'm doing one 180 push press with a long hold at the top then immediately followed by one clean and jerk @ 145 with a hold at the top immediately followed by pull ups till failure... 180 OHP here I come😁 Changed to *Push press 180 til failure *5 Clean and jerks @ 135 *5 Pull-ups. NO BREAKS! (Only got this in a few times before the big C but it is a real killer. It felt like I was doing burpies)

@@seabmassey63 unfortunately I feel off and my life is circling the drain. It surprises me every day that I'm still alive... I did manage to go back for a bit in November and found I still had 80% of the established maxes despite minimal training, which is promising considering I've been living with one foot in the grave this past year. 115 was all I strict press but I'm absolutely confident I'll get it when the world open back up. Still managed a 325 DL pull with hardly any lead up training which is mindblowing to me. I can still remember the first time pulling 315, it took real work to getting there. Then I pull 325 without any training, just a standard warm-up. Yeah that felt good... That life feels so away these days. Thank you for asking, you brought me back if only for a moment. Best wishes

Even tho this is on Mark Bell's channel, this video sold me on Wenning. Subscribed to both. Been following his concepts for like a month now, OMG I have no mor elbow pain. Tendinitis is gone, his knowledge is legit. I'm 36, have been a 225 incline bencher for a long time but I'm finally getting past my rep and weight max WITHOUT any pain or injury following these concepts. His shit is legit.

Matt when youre doing the ez bar tricep extn , you do it different to the other guys , like a negative rep on a bench press , which takes your elbows more towards the abs ..then you do a pullover in the other direction finishing the extn near yr nose . you use a double the weight of the other guys but they actually do more just a conventional tricep extn , not really using their pecs or lats or serratus they way you did on that negative . Which way is better in your opinion for that tricep power
@Bravo-Too-Much5 жыл бұрын
Go to your mid face to chin area and you feel it almost solely in your triceps and less pain in the elbows. Just do it like your doing a JM press and just go higher towards your face. Or do JM presses on their own. Most guys end up turning this into a skullcrushing pullover and disperse the job of moving the weight away from your triceps. You don’t need to go to the forehead or behind the head for a stretch, you can stretch just fine doing it this way or just stretch off something else.

Biceps: post retirement Strength athletes only :P seriously he has a point hammer curls kind of help with bench and DL but you can fuck with your shoulders and tendons in there if you over do them. and you get secondary from rows/ pullups as is. also to the kids in comments: Wenning is one of the best damn coaches on the planet you may learn a bit more than from joe youtube. There should be more on the OG westside: George Frenn Bill, roger estep, Superstar billy Graham all those guys were monsters even compared to guys from now.
