Ive rebuilt a few of the gm late 70's cadillac blower motors with new brushes and copper bearing that holds the north pole on the armature in place,the noise your hearing is the copper bearing worn....you'd be suprised how much dirt gunk is inside the blower motor .easy to open up just drill out the rivits that hold it together....great vid bro!!!

Well done! Really helped my with replacing the motor after it burned out. It seems that mice built a nest in there and brought in acorns to feed on as well. Where did the get in? I dunno but I would like to put a guard on that cool air intake made out of 1/4" hardware cloth. I will keep looking.

Thank you , it was the fan switch which brought back the fan speeds to work, however , even though the fan works on all the speeds, not much air blows out. Any ideas?

Rats nests in the airbox, leaking air vent hoses... start with those and things will probably get much better.

Does BROTHERS see just the gasket (not the seal) that goes between the blower motor and the housing/firewall?

I have a 1971 el camino and the air only blows on one speed. if you put the air switch on high it only blows at a low speed. what should i consider as the problem?

It's either the fan switch itself or the fan relay, start with the switch.

I'm working on my '71 Chevelle's A/C, too. Don't forget about the blower motor resistor. I've read if the fan only works on one speed (usually high) that might be it.

Need some diag help on my 74 c10 blower motor, 12 volts at plug for blower motor but no motor have tried a new blower motor but no luck, could it be the resistor or somthing else?

Obviously the first thing we'd check is the ground. If you've got 12v on the plug at the motor there's almost nothing else it could be. The plug on the motor is AFTER the resistor, so that would rule the resistor out. Put a jumper wire on one of the mounting screws and ground it to something you know has a good ground and see what happens. If that doesn't work then pull the motor and bench test it with 12v and see what happens with a simple ground and power connection.

On my 73 C10 i would like to go from AC to conventional heating. i already have a fiberglass heating/heatingcore housing. Can you guys help me out ?

The hole in the firewall is different on the trucks with a standard heater box and no AC, we're not sure it can be done using factory components unless you intend to weld a patch in the hole and start over. Call our tech guys at 800--977-2767 and maybe we can come up with a solution.

@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV Thanks for your repy ! I will go a different route. Delete the leftovers from the AC to create engine room and will install a Racers Heater for defrosting. That way i can save my (to be ordered) new dash and use the existing hole for one simple switch and thermo control.
