Hope it fixes your issue! It could either be the battery or the blower motor itself. Make sure the blower motor recall is done as well!

If that battery is weak just replace it. Your car will even run better.

Doesn’t the alternator power the A/C system and not the car battery when car is running?

The battery acts as a stabilizer and still gives power when the alternator output cannot keep up with demand (i.e at Idle with many loads on etc). BMW’s have IBS or intelligent battery sensors, and can tell when too much current is being pulled due to bad battery etc., which is why this happens. So yes, in theory with a generic basic systems car, you can unplug the battery and everything will work great. With a German car, not so much lol

An interesting one for you. e92 335i, fan connector recall done, changed the resistor and the motor itself as well as the fuse. The fan works when ignition is ON but the engine is OFF. When the engine goes ON, the fan stops working.

Ok. Thank you. That confirms my suspicion. My battery is weak. BMW’s have to start off with good battery voltage or nothing works right. Explains why my blower motor is up on high then medium. Then up on high then medium. Battery time Frankenstein.

Quick question I have bmw 525i the cold air blows fine but the top vents only blow hot air when the top vent are open is that normal ??

Did you code the new battery in? I would suggest coding the battery in and also resetting all of the codes on the computer with a scan tool :)

My blower fan turns on when i turn the heat dials up but after a few moments the fans slows to a stop. Also pressing Max Ac doesnt activate. Currently around 20-50F in WA state. Any suggestions

@jgarcia3017 You know what I think it is? I dismantled the whole center armrest, the wooden part, stereo etc. Haven't put it back in because it still shortens out. But my AC works. But I really thing it's a pinched cable from the blower motor. Depending on how the car is parked, it'll pinch and not allow it to turn until the car is driven through an on ramp or a bump that'll cause it to connect again. Just from looking at how the connector is held, it looks like it's safe to say it's a pi ched connector causing the issue. I'll come back on here and see if I could recommend a spot for used oem bmw parts. Got a tail light from them for $40 and I think it goes for $250

I've literally replaced the blower motor the blower module module fuse the thermostat the center cluster And my heater still don't work well it does when it wants it turns off when it wants or turns on when it wants to I never thought about the battery if that's it I'm going to be pissed lol

To replace all those parts for it still not to have power I’d be checking the wiring

If it also changes the blower fan speed up and down on it's own, it's the blower resistor you should replace .

I dont know if had this problems but im having troubles with where the air is being blow out of instead of the vents the air in mines coming out from the gear shifter and when i take the plastic off i can really feel it all the speeds work but it comes blasting out the wrong way

Yes it can! It most likely is your battery. The reason defrost still works is because it is a safety issue - they want to ensure you can still see while driving

Could be a lot of things, but if it only makes a noise when the A/C button is pressed, I would think it is your AC compressor going bad. Maybe a bearing or a clutch

If the fuse is bad will the motor run at all. Mine starts when the engine turns over and bower runs for a few seconds then quits

From my memory, I don’t think the blower motor has a fuse. If it did, the wiring wouldn’t catch on fire so easily. Could be wrong though!

Fuse 88 - 40amp is the fuse for the blower motor

Hey, go to BMW and get the recall done! The wiring is probably all fried up
