This is a cool build. I always kinda thought the yard dart would end up like this car but I'm glad you did that car the way you did. Glad you and the old man are doing well.

The Dart isn't cut up nearly enough to become a dedicated race car. There is no sense in cutting up a good car with a vin to make it into a race car when their are so many already out there

My first car was a 67 barracuda. It's was same color as this one. I left it at moms when I moved out and she called the junk yard. Had a built 340 at the time I. 89s was pretty good. I forgave her. But this brought back the pain

I have ran super stock springs and lowering blocks for 20 years and no issues as long as you run billet or steel ones.... the extruded aluminum ones would crush after 1-2 seasons (300-500 passes)

Don't forget some kind of lateral limiters to keep the engine moving front to back. Motor plates have no horizontal stiffness. And I would also do the mid plate as well. The motor to trans joint is not stiff enough to prevent vertical flexing.

Not doing a midplate, its too late for that and I'm not a fan of them. I'll build limiters

I would be tempted to put a gusset on you angle mounting plate. Just to help prevent it from cracking from vibration and load stress. Looks like a blast to build and break(driving).

New grill looks way better than what was in it's place beforehand. Mesh inserts look great for what they are.

👏👏to Dad! Haha! Or how bout Brother Dad! Anywho, now I got another model to build, I think I've got a 66 Barracuda, unless I can get a 68, you said it is a 68 , right? Jed, one of these days, hopefully in the near future, I'm gonna do another jezebel, well this one didn't turn out too bad, I just need to work on making that hood scoop, my problem halfway through Jezebel I got to feeling bad, ain't felt much better since, yeah yeah I know " excuses, excuses", haha. Anyways, good stuff bud, as always! Rock on 🤘 fellars, rock on! Oooo-weee, that Barely Cuda is looking badass bud, badass!!!!!!

I put a quick drain in my block after a few years when I pulled it back out. The drain didn't want to drain too easy. I just took it out and put a brass plug with liquid teflon. That way if it gets hit it won't be leaking.

If you can, tie the shock towers into the upper bars you are adding or they will flex, especially when landing a wheelie.

Dad had to have worked for the coal mines at some point in time, because he uses the crap out of some electrical tape. Serious overkill. That converter will only line up all the bolt holes in the flex plate one way. Ask me how I know. All brands are like that.

would right rear be higher so when car comes off the line under power and twists to that side, it somehow helps the car to hook? Just a guess..

I might be wrong, ( I know nothing about setting up cars like this), but it appears you may have to clearance the front of the rear fenders. It looks dangerously close to the back tires.

Looks like the rear wheel openings have been cut anyway so maybe you should recut them to center the tire in the hole. To make it look a little better

You do need limit straps when using motor plates to keep it from moving forward and backward in the engine compartment

They say that, but I never used them on my big block Duster and made many, many passes. Trans mount prevented forward/aft movement.

@@CarsandCats ya, as I understand it that’s very hard on the transmission, they can break a case. I don’t use motor plates so I am not speaking from personal experience, just from what racers I have spoken to told me.

What did you do for pulley spacers ? I had one made but didn’t realize the Mopar factory 6 hole pattern is 2.83” and standard spacing on all blowers is 2.79”

I got everything from Dean Bowers, his info is in the last barracuda video. My balancer on this engine is the same symmetrical pattern of all blower pulleys, I got lucky

If I May Jed clean your headers up real good, and I swear using GALVANIZED PAINT on them will have a kind of a silver look and they will not BURN OFF.I promise you thanks love what you do.

Wipe them down with Ospho and they will never rust again. I have bare metal headers that are 15 years old and no rust.

Visually turbos will never be cooler than a Roots supercharger and the whine from the blower belt is much more satisfying than the whistle of a turbo. As for coming into the 21st century, I atleast put electronic ignition on this car lol

Those are extremely large diameter blower pulleys. How much boost 5lbs.

55 tooth and a 50 tooth. They aren't that big, it's set to run 7-8 psi

The body is great, the under structure is solid and been beefed up. I don't restore anything. I get stop running again so it doesn't just sit around and rot forever. This Barracuda is a 100% track only race car. You cannot legally drive it on the street, and body work/ paint won't make it any better in the slightest

@@larrynorsworthy8582 I have 70 Charger with a legitimate 634hp 662tq 505 stroker and that's an unbelievable amount of power to try and handle. Especially in a old beat up Charger. This Barracuda is meant to be fun, something we can all have fun racing with. The horsepower it makes, the more silly we can get, and have fun while doing it.
