Go the built motor route. With the trans and turbo upgrades, you'll basically have a new truck. I watched this build from day one, you have a lot of time and effort invested. Keep it, Bro!
@megatrolltrollington8 ай бұрын
Keeping something based on the perceived time and effort sank into it is a logical fallacy that should be avoided. Im not saying he should abort. Im just saying the amount of time, effort, and money he has invested are not good reasons to continue with this project.
@richterbc22318 ай бұрын
@@megatrolltrollington considering your name has troll involved in it im going to assume you are trolling. the fact he put that much time money and effort into the vehicle is the exact reason you would have a motor built for it or do the work to redo it. Sentimental value goes a long way, most of the dudes in this comment section are passionate about diesel vehicles and would 100% rather have a motor built for their pickup or rebuild the one they have themselves.

1st off, thanks for your service. 2nd, sorry for the loss of your brothers. As for the truck, that's a bad ass truck man. Myself, I would get that motor you mentioned and have it ready to roll when you get back. Enjoy it for a little awhile then think about what you really want to do. If you decide to sell it, I'm sure one of your KZbin followers would be all over it because they know what they be getting. Me personally, I would never own another chevy or ford. Cummins is where it's at, you just can't beat it. I have a 2018 3500 Laramie HO with Aisin and 410 gears. I'm putting as much money into as I can to build it out as far as I can go but not deleting it. Thought about it but just too sketchy anymore. If I buy another truck, it'll be a 1st 2nd or 3rd gen, not new and keeping my 2018 til I die. Be safe and keep us updated on during deployment.

I'm hardcore Duramax but my next diesel will be a Ram with the Cummins. The Duramax and Power stroke's are v-8 engines and they're more difficult to work on cause there is so much stuff jammed in the engine compartment. The Cummins being the straight 6 is much easier to work on. In my opinion and experience.

@JoshHMC9 ай бұрын
What exactly happened to the engine? Do you know what part failed and why?
@gsc5129 ай бұрын
It's not letting me post my response but I would go ahead and keep the one you have. I would look into getting a ram box for it to eliminate the dual rear wheel box and then I would float the rear axle take it in and get it cut down so you can still keep the massive pumpkin and then float the axles and just reuse everything else. That's why I got my truck that I got cuz it's a one ton but I wanted something with significantly more power. But you can only get the ace and transmission behind the high output Cummins but high output isn't high output enough But I completely understand your issue with the vehicle likes to stay broken. But the good news is it's oftentimes it's usually little modules or fuses or the one everybody loves the most, including myself, which frayed wire in that big ass loom is deciding not to work 😆 I'll give you a hint what could go wrong. They like to break the Hydra boost. If you don't stay on top of the brake fluid change, it likes to fry the ABS module and pump both at the same time. How it gets that done is a better feet of engineering than how they got the actual vehicle to work in its entirety. It likes to break its little sensors and oftentimes when it does, it goes ahead and it goes into a behind the scenes limp home mode. So it'll cut your fuel economy by 20 to 40% and it won't even tell you check engine light . Check engine light won't even turn on so unless you have an OBD reader, you won't know unless you're looking at your MPG and you're like, why did it go from 25 to 15? 25 MPG is of course if you run in all the banks equipment and you're not going over 65 mph. Otherwise it drops down to 22. But when you're producing over 1600 ft lb of torque I guess it doesn't much matter. It's still getting decent fuel economy Honestly I liked you to keep that truck cuz well your way of thinking is mostly in line with mine. Like you'll be putting compounds on there and all of that other crap and I'd like to see what you get for returns. Lol😅 This is going to sound kind of pathetic, but have you tried approaching the companies with the numbers from your channel and the fact that you're a veteran because most of these companies will actually cut the profit completely out of the equation and some of them will even take a loss if you promise so many seconds in your video for advertising and you can tell them you would produce so many in a series but that would be completely on you cuz I know you said you didn't want to remove the engine from the vehicle but on these new trucks it's pretty easy. The whole front comes off. The whole cooling package is come off and then the motor comes right out the front just disconnect it from the transfer case. Just unbolt the transmission and there's one main wire on the Cummins for the wiring loom. It's on the driver side and then there's like three on the passenger side there's like one on top. There's like couple that go to the alternator and then a couple of them that go to the air intake and then there's the two on top of the motor for that PVC system and that's it for the Commons and then on the transmission there's like three or four wiring connectors. You want to do those and six bolts that connected to the transfer case and then two bolts to the mount for the transmission and two bolts on the engine mounts for the engine and then you lift it up 2 in and you pull it straight out the front of the vehicle
