So, Ford decided to mimic Chevrolet BIg Block design for their heads... I always wondered if it's actually that close. Very good presentation. If it doesn't have the flame it's not a HOTWHEELS

Check out Hemi under Glass , Blown 426 Hemi in a Cuda , Engine is in the back seat , You must be young , people been doing this for 40+ years , I put a Buick 225 V-6 with headers and a 4 barrel Carb . in a Datsun pickup truck when I was 18 years old

@@idontreadreplies.252 , "And" he said that he was an amazing engineer , "And" that means that everyone that has did this very same thing is an Amazing Engineer , You should've seen what I did to a lawn mower when I was just 14 , it was my very first engine swap , but I took the entire engine apart and rebuilt it , then mounted it to a different Frame , then I graduated to mini bikes, chainsaws, motorcycles, cars and trucks, bulldozers, backhoes and just about anything heavy equipment , You should have seen the John Deere Bulldozer with a 350 small block Chevy and 3 speed trans , and currently building a small block 350 Chevy S- 10 and I have 78 Chevy Silverado and I got room in the bed for a V-8 , only problem is , it has duel 22 gal fuel tanks , so both would have to be removed and a rear Tank like on a Blazer , But I don't think of myself as an amazing engineer, I'm just having fun

This is fantastic. My own fever dream of the same insane mod would be two ElDorados or Toronados under on El Camino.
@benruether82943 жыл бұрын
From years of car talk with my pops, I heard this was a popular thing to do in the 70's but mostly with Olds Toranado transaxles with all sorts of rear engine conversions. He even knew of a guy that had designs for an olds transaxle/455 combo to neatly fit in air-cooled Volkswagen pans (after cutting and fab) to create a v8 mid engine beetle. They had lots of wild ideas back in the day.

This is the best vid of the building of this car that is on KZbin. I followed his given link to his and his son's channel but there is not as much narrative about the tech specs on those vids. It's just a shame that your mic didn't have a wind filter on it, so as to be able to hear this incredible builder a little better. Amazing car!! Ya know how Olympic figure skaters glide at 20mph, on two 1/4" wide blades ON ICE and toss a girl up in the air and spin her and catch her and make it look so easy as to be GRACEFUL?? That's what it's like listening to this modest gentleman describe how he cut two cars in half, welded them together, reshaped the body and then hand-fabricated an entire rear suspension and all the control linkages, in such a matter-of-fact manner. His inspiration? A 3" long toy. smh..... Truly American engineering!! Awesome! Thanks for sharing!

I've always thought someone should build a truck like this, but with a really beat up looking truck, beautiful shiny engine in the bed looks like it's sitting on a pallet with cargo straps over it, so it looks like it's an ordinary beat up truck carrying this engine destined for another project. Maybe still have the stock engine up front driving the front wheels, so it can drive around normally. Then when they want to go fast, fire up the bed engine, which is secretly connected to the rear wheels.
