I had a 70SS 396 that was grey fern metallic with white rally stripes and was built for street/strip when i was in high school. 11.85 in the quarter mile @129 mph. Best car i ever had and i still kick myself for ever selling it. I ruled the streets with that car.

My Dear and beloved father STILL HAS his original 1964 Chevelle, He has it in a barn in San Juan Puerto Rico. The paint is not original. He had it repainted at least 5 times that I remember and it looks outstanding. Dad is now 84 and recently told me to “ Come get the car” He was a Jersey City police officer and giving us a great childhood, beautiful home and upbringing… This is his baby. Now he is passing it down to me. It will be back in New Jersey in August of 2024 Lord willing.

Sixteen in 1974, first car '68 Mustang 289. Two things really miss from that era - chromed steel bumpers & fat tires. Think were icons of the era. Have actually seen one photo of a "steel" front bumper on the 2024 SS's, but suspect like everything now it's chromed plastic.

@@thephantomzoneboxing Nothing has changed the was the American economy works. Supply and demand is what controls the price. Not only that this is far from the same car. It looks like the 70s cars but all the technology is from today dependability, suspension, brakes, handling, twin turbo, the amount of horsepower is putting out, then you go back to my original comment it's a matter of how many are available and how many people want one that's what affects the price.

Being a former owner of multiple Chevelle's ( 70 SS 396, 70 307 Malibu, 70 350 Malibu, 71 SS 350, 72 4 door Malibu hardtop, 68 SS 396, 67 SS 396 with a L-88 427) this brings a tear to my eye. You captured the pure essence of the 70 in a modern interpretation. It's beautiful, although I can still dimensionally see the Camaro underneath, but that's not a deterrent, it's almost a necessity for a modern platform. Waaaaaay out of my league price-wise, but there's always the hope of hitting the Mega-Millions Jackpot. Yeah... I know, I ain't holding my breath lol. I guess I'll just have to make do with my 77 Impala with 525 rwhp until then. Awesome job recreating a true muscle car icon!

I was a staple at John Calvert’s house since a little kid, his Dad , Robert “Bob” Calvert was USMC Force Recon, my Dad was 101st. My dad had to work a lot and trusted Sgt. Calvert to teach us be good men. Bob always took the initiative to help others and do the job right. His son followed that track very well. In my eyes, Sgt. Calvert was a local legend and national hero. He inspired us- my brother and I are cops and firefighters. We wish could do more. John Calvert was made for this and is a good man. The apple didn’t fall from the tree at all… it rose upward. Love you brother. Proud of you. I know your pop would love to see this. Well done.

I 100% agree about the '70 Chevelle. When I was a kid in the '70's - early '80's that was one of the top cars for teen drivers to get for their first car. Black, white stripes, raised in the rear a little, deep dish Cragar SS's in the rear, standard in the front, lettered tires, and chrome tip duals out the rear. To really top it off, a racing cam to make the idle sound throaty hit-and-miss. The thing is, for the time, these cars were already expensive. Where you could buy a typical used car for $500-$750, these were often $1500. A LOT of money back in circa 1978! HAHA.

I practically had one handed to me for $1200 - BUT, I didn't have the money & my local bank wouldn't lend it to me. I'm probably still alive because I was too immature at that time to be driving a car like that..

When you account for inflation, in 1970 a Chevelle SS was about the price of a Honda Civic Si today.

I don't know Joseph when I was a kid my father bought a 1980 Buick skylark brand new for 8,000 bucks 4 door not a sport's car so I'm pretty sure a car like this would be more expensive and that was just a two year difference but then again there's always Google haven't checked but correct me if I'm wrong

My Brother had the 70 Road Runner and my Brother n law had the SS 396. They were both very fun and very fast, but I have always loved the body of the SS. I was younger but I got the 78 Trans Am. There is something about loving a vehicle that I understand. Today, I have a Model S Plaid.

Great work. Really unfortunate that the executives at GM can't figure it out on their own. Rather a smaller company has to produce what the public really wants. John Delorean must be laughing in his grave at this point. Plate C

What a great film and what a killer car !! Y'all should get serious awards for this one !! I love you guys work and dedication to bringing back powerhouses and at the same time making them works of art !! Would love to own one of your green and gold 70 ss's with the supercharged 396 but my having to rely on disability since my back went out in 2007 kinda limits my budget! I can hardly wait to see the hardtop version !!

I had a 70 Chevelle back in the seventies and it was one of the greatest vehicles that existed mines had a lt 1 in it instead of A396 they swapped it out I had a lot of bars on it tunnel ram the car was just a monster but like you said the stance of the vehicle was just untouched so to make an upgrade at 70 Chevelle with the same body style just more advanced is just an amazing idea you guys hit it out of the park with this 1

What beautiful capture in time to relive. The car is the most amazing I have seen in a while. I personally was a Cutlass man but loved GM cars period. This reborn is perfect to me until I saw the front end. I think You guys could have made it a little more sexy. The Bumper pertruded more in the center on the original. This modle looks like one big easy way out wrap still an Amazing piece of machinery.

The target market is all the retirees that wish they had that car when they were teenagers. Now that they have their money that they saved ,they either want to race the car or invest it, keep it and maybe hold on to it for their children. Unfortunately there's a low amount of cars that are going to be made so therefore a lot of people won't get the chance being able to buy one. You won't be able to make them fast enough and I'm sure the price is going to be through the ceiling Great design Good luck

YOU’RE KILLING ME SMALLS!! 😱 My first car was a 68 Camaro, I have a 2010 5th Gen Re-emerged Camaro now! 😎 My second car was a 71 Chevelle!! Loved that car as much as the Camaro. I hope you’ve inspired Chevy to bring it back! I love what you did! You did to the Chevelle what Chevy did with the Camaro, retro yet modern!! 😎 I wish they were back! I still remember Cragar SS wheels on my 71, with raised letter tires, and lifting the back up with air shocks! Let’s not forget the shag carpet on the rear deck! 🤦🏻‍♂️🤣
