I noticed in this video, most of the bikes did not have any plates on them....I have heard that in the State of Florida, plates and insurance are not required by law, does anyone know if this is true>? In Canada, I have never seen anyone do ANY of the stuff seen on these types of videos. I guess for the most part, we as riders here worry about the repercussions of our actions. Personally, I wouldn't ride like that because, I have WAY too much money invested into my bike and already pay WAY too much insurance. I have served with guys who are now cops and they tell my that for the most part, they don't even bother with trying to chase bikes, it eggs the riders on to go even faster and be more careless, becoming a greater danger to themselves and everyone around them. By law, here in Ontario....lane splitting is not technically illegal. There is no statute deeming, "lane splitting" or "filtering" to be an offence under the Highway Traffic Act BUT....if a cop catches you, he will probably find some other charge like "dangerous driving," "reckless driving," or "stunt driving" to nail your ass with. The same goes any of the stuff you see on these videos, wheelies, rolling burnouts...etc... The only thing that I do, which I could probably get in shit for is, "lane splitting." Not the type of lane splitting you see on KZbin, on the highway, weaving in and out at 100-200km/h but usually at stop lights. If there are two lanes, I sometimes will ride up between the stationary vehicles and go to the front of the line at the red light. I do this for my own safety, it beats being crushed between two vehicles because the dick coming up behind me is texting and doesn't stop. Easily explainable in court with my GoPro....going 4-8km/h between stationary vehicles is in NO way a threat to any other drivers. As long as you can prove you took "care and consideration" for other drivers...careless driving, reckless driving and stunt driving will not stick as a charge in court.

I can totally get why riders in Canada don't ride like this...when it costs over 3 grand a year for insurance to ride a CBR 600 for MAYBE 6 months due to our weather here....that is beyond A LITTLE retarded!! Especially when you have been licensed for over 30 years....are married, have children and a clean driving record. I could see a 20 year old, single punk ass kid paying that but when you're in your mid 40's?? COME ON!!!! I didn't realize that lane splitting in Canada, (Ontario) was not illegal either. I have always assumed it was. That's not to say I don't do it though. I tried to find some statute under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act making it illegal.....there is NOTHING!
