For anyone seeing this, you can magnify synergy by activating it with a magnified spell, so character 1 uses Fira-Magnify, 2 uses Synergy+Fire, then every time you cast the magnified spell with 1, 2 will cast a magnified Fire.

Very wrong. 11 year old me was blown away by ff7. Immediately became my favorite game of all time n took 23 years for another game to dismantle it although now that I undertand materia even better and with the remake I think it's back to my favorite game of all time.

Nothing to brag about but when I use Synergy on Hard Mode against the Scorpion Sentinel I absolutely obliterate him when stacking Synergy and Lightning on Barrett and just straight-up attacking with Cloud. Definitely OP and couldn't even stagger him due to massive HP losses

That's perfect from a damage standpoint but for my playstyle I pressure the pressure gauge increase which is higher with ice and fire than thunder. Also with tifa using focused strikes it further enhances those really quickly

So, after having hella fun making rude go flying with a stupid amount of wind-synergy, I discovered that when the player controlled character casts offensive spells from inside arcane ward, synergy materia can double-proc, with the second proc off the bonus cast. Doesn’t always work, sometimes the synergist is too busy and can’t queue both spells in time, but it usually does when using tier 2 or 3 spells. If the synergist is inside the ward too, it can actually act as “quadra magic” essentially, through a dualcast double-proc.

Playing Rebirth, I was trying to set up a party for the final protorelic quests. At one point, I looked at Synergy and realized Aerith had comet. Paired them and found that it worked. Sure the spell takes some time to cast, but she’s literally casting Comet for free.

Same, that's my problem with the game, enemies are too easy to kill, even in hard mode, maybe they could have a level modifier like they did for TWEWY and KH3 Re:Mind

Well tbf they have a ton of materia combos to use like water and earth, flare, holy, comet, all the summons, tons of command materia to make and new weapon abilities, I am worried a bit myself about cross save leveling and how that will work, hopefully it carries over and difficulty increases a new save should have your character start at like 25 maybe with the most logical equipment leveled up

If you have MP Absorption + Magnify linked to the same element on 1 character you can spam base level magic and never lose MP on small groups of enemies, I use it all the time on HARD mode just to rush through the chapters and get to the boss quickly

Yeah that's if you are controlling that character though. And it doesn't trigger an auto cast..personally I'd rather not deal with that and just use synergy to reduce materia slot usage

I preffer combining elemental materia and any magic materia e.g.. ligthning + elemental in Cloud's Sword (physical attack build) and Synergy + Ligthning on Aerith. This way each time i use sword ability (e.g braver) Aerith is casting thunder :)

Thunder is great by all means you cant go wrong with any combination because synergy is that good. But I mainly use fire for the massive pressure gain and instant damage compared to blizzard..blizzard is best for pressure and stagger it's unreal. But it's alllll preference really

Was happy to see you kept at trying out synergy. I mentioned it to you a few weeks ago after your yuffie guide and you had said you were trying to find a build that worked with it. I still thought it seemed very strong, but could never test it myself since they didn’t alter it in ps4 because reasons lol🤷🏻‍♂️ Excellent work! How do you spam that focus strike attack with deadly dodge?, I can never follow it up with the twirl kick after dodging. Great content as usual.

@Jblaze600 you have to have tifa equipped with the deadly dodge materia. When she normally does focused strike she has a longer animation where she goes up into the sky and then lands, but if you time deadly dodge once you hit the enemy it cancels the animation, then hit square again to hit the enemy with another deadly dodge granting you more atp (in addition to the atp you got from FS) and repeat.

Focuse strike - Circle - attack. To activate deadly dodge you need to press circle then attack almost immediately

There is only 1 synergy in the game. You put it mainly on who you want to cast the magic auto. And use the other two characters regularly so the synergized character will spam magic when you use abilities with them

Anyone can hold it. It procs when a player controlled character uses an ability. An AI controlled character holding it will then use the tier 1 elemental spell it's linked with. Best characters to use it with are Barret and Aerith. Cloud works too, as he has really strong magic, although Disorder has ATB refunding and Tifa's magic stats is too low to consider equipping it to her. Not to mention she also has ATB refunding via Focus Strike, so no reason to have her hold it.

Whoever you want to cast the magic spell let's say aerith. You put synergy+ a magic materia linked together. Now with the character you are controlling, everytime you use a ATB on a offensive damaging move it'll trigger aerith to use that spell
