Thank you for this build and this strategy ! I managed to complete this challenge with your video 🙂 I just had a problem with Yuffie and the fact that she didn't have enough ATB gauge for Brumal form. So I placed a time materia instead of ATB stagger Materia on Cloud. At the start of each fight, I cast haste with Cloud and ATB Ward with Aerith on Yuffie (who had Rochey Keychain instead of hermes boot). After the 3rd try with this materia placement, I was able to finish this challenge with a first try on Gilgamesh and Virtual Sephiroth 😁

First of all, thank you so much for these guides, secondsly, I tested the hermes boots and the speed keychain and the keychain is 100% better. You actually don't lose ATB on yuffie, but you do need someoen to cast haste. Boots for speed and the keychain is for the ease.

Only issue with this strat is if they never go for Yuffie, Brumal Form wipes her ATB out as it isn't getting the dodge boosts, and that halts any progress.

Took about 5 hours using this method. Odin was being a Gott-blocker and doing crazy stuff that ended my run every time. Finally broke through, only had to face Gilgamesh twice, and beat V. Sephiroth on the first attempt. This method made all the difference!

Thanks a lot took me 4 days and change fire & ice to magic focus for more power also quit the lightning - synergy for comet-mp up and raise cloud stats. The only thing u missed to mention is that first battle phoenix can cast rebirth very quickly even if u are casting the spells when kujata dies and kujatas dead body can block them at least to me happen that way, also bahamut can silence aerith/cloud or go berserker after aerith, and Odin also can kill cloud or aerith sometimes whit to attacks. Gilgamesh and sephiroth where the easiest following your steps only had to improve on the first three thanks a lot for making this guide and explaining slowly and not just quick like other KZbin guides

Update: I finally beat this!! Took me 3:36. I put Magnify+Healing on Cloud instead of Synergy. And put another vitality up and Time on Yuffie so she can be re-hasted. Gilgamesh started with Daemon Wave so I Brumal it and ATB Ward under her and got the combo going. For Sephiroth, your strat work for Yuffie to Brumal his attacks and got the ATB Ward on her, got Cloud starting the combo, he didn’t get to Shadowy Chain anybody! He did change his affinity to fire tho

I will say doing these challenges pre hard-mode is definitely great training for a hard-mode run. Some of these builds will transition really well, i just wish they added “Loadouts” so i can have multiple materia configurations to save time swapping them out.

This method works incredibly well. Took 2-3 tries to really get the pattern down so expected to die as I was trying it out. By the 4th try made it all the way through while beating Gilgamesh and Sephiroth the first time I actually faced them. Since I can't resist morbid theory crafting, I got another one about 'girl Kefka' lol. What if, per Scarlet's suggestion to Rufus, Elmyra for the assurance of Marlene's safety, is coerced into doing an international broadcast endorsing Shinra's fight against Avalanche, scapegoating Avalanche over Meteor, blaming them for Aerith's death, and claiming that Aerith worked with and supported Shinra. The commercial closes with a shot of Elmyra standing with the board of directors. Scarlet is holding Marlene like she's her daughter. With this, Shinra attempts to quell fighting by uniting the world against Avalanche, gives the party a covert warning about what could happen if they interfere, and Scarlet is further able to get under Tifa's skin. Revenge for when she kicks the crap out of her on the mako cannon. In OG Cait Sith made it clear when he was busted as a spy that Shinra has access to Marlene. This time, let the psychopath do it... Here's what fascinates me about Scarlet. From what she's done in this world, she is not as evil as Hojo, but I'd say she's pretty close. However, she's ten times more aggressive.

spent 10 hours today straight trying to do this strat and cant get it. I only reach sephiroth once and he paralized and octo killed me before I could do anything. Only reached gilgamesh 4 times and died 3 of those. Almost every battle, I get cheesed. Wards being interrupted. Dodging attacks and the game still says I got hit. Most fights, I take too much damage to be fully healed at the start of the next one and then im just screwed. So frustrated, I need this for platinum and its one of the last thing I have left. It took me several tries but I did it in 2:43! The last 2 rounds were definitely the hardest. Gilgamesh would randomly aggro Yuffie with whirlwinds and frog, that's instant fail. Any tips on Sephiroth if you fail to dodge the initial triple slash? It sucks to fail essentially immediately if that happens. Otherwise, GREAT guide!

Finally beat this challenge in 3:48 after not playing the games in months. Thank you so much for this setup, especially the Hermes Shoes tip. I had Revival on Yuffie but didn’t use it. Swapped Vitality Up on her for Asses to get the final boss, and Titan summon for a bit of Defense. On one ultimately unsuccessful run, I did manage to defeat Odin with Yuffie down and Gilgamesh with Yuffie turned into a toad midway through the fight. Biggest run killer was the final boss’ Shadow Chains x Octoslash combo.

I set Arcane Ward to triangle, and set the maxed out Auto-Unique Ability, yet Aerith still doesn’t teleport to the ward in battle. Am I doing something wrong? Also, Cloud’s MP always dwindles fast even though everything is set up like your example. I’m so confused.

One thing with the Hermes shoes, you have to watch your 2nd ATB bar and make sure your haste don’t run out otherwise you’re screwed without a Time materia. With Speed Demon Keychain, Yuffie have to be hasted which is an extra step, but your bar stays at 2 ATB. Gilgamesh is a make or break for my runs. Gotta anticipate his attacks and not be too hasty. Sephiroth is a pain too. Gotta get that -aga spell down before he Shadowy Chain someone. If Yuffie gets Chained, it’s over

Lowers the damage at the highest level by -25%. But you can erase that from happening by using Magic Focus materia and pair it with the same materia thats paired to the magnify.

What kills me with this one is that I need to scan Virtual Sephy with assess materia, this is the only chance you get. So I have to stop the method. And he totally takes advantage of it. He’s relentless, once he gets going. 😢

Someone can tell me if it is vital to have every materia fully grinded to do this? Because i just obtained the 3d elemental and obviulsly it's not grinded, others materia are almost full for this build but not really everithing.

@@upaz84 in the case of the 3rd elemental it's not vital just a Incase measure. Like put the other 2 on cloud and aerith. But the 3rd one doesn't need to go on yuffie cuz she's dodging attacks. Or you can put it on yuffie anyways to block 50% incoming damage of that element

this got me to gilgamesh twice and sephy once but now i’ve tried for the 100th time and i can’t get past odin and alex what am i doing wrong ive done it so many times i know the setup now but still its not going well!

Your build is perfect, but I run out of MP quickly, and I end up losing to Gilgamesh because of it. Could you suggest something to solve this problem? (By the way, some of the blue and green materials are not fully upgraded yet.)
