@@ghostoftheeinzberncastle Yep, originally the account was created to help sell the April fool's joke that was originally supposed to take place but then I backed out on because I enjoyed playing this character so much, and I have kept it going just to help with the immersion. I also did the same on my discord recently because of the reason I mentioned in the video. For those who don't want to know the truth, she is there for them. I felt terrible when I broke the immersion for one of my viewers who wasn't ready or expecting it. I don't want anyone to be upset or hurt by something like that again before they're ready To accept it, so I leave the disclaimers up everywhere and leave it up to them to find it. It's come up a couple of times in live streams as a question if Blue is a male, and to keep from breaking the immersion for those who do not want to know, I just say look in the pinned comment, description, or over on Twitch check out the about page. It probably seems so strange to go to such extremes but I genuinely feel terrible for breaking the illusion for anyone who may not want it broken or hasn't discovered the truth yet. I also don't feel like it's something I should say at the top of every video or every stream because that puts the focus in the wrong spot as the point of the Blue Chan character isn't to focus on a male being a female V tuber, the point is to enjoy the personality and have fun with what's going on. If people are willing to accept that, awesome. If that's something that is too weird or uncomfortable for them, that's perfectly fine as well and I accept their choice to not watch. We all have our own personal preferences in that regard. I modeled the Blue Chan character around what I like to watch as far as a personality goes, it's just basically myself amplified to be more cutesy than crude, so that's what I go with. Having to force myself to keep that persona while streaming or recording is its own fun and rewarding challenge for me and has made me enjoy this for the first time in ages. Though, all this has been covered in several different videos at this point so I probably didn't need to explain all here again ha ha. I don't blame you if you didnt read this wall of text. I will say that it is nice when I get to respond to a comment as myself every now and then though as there's a lot more work to respond to all the comments as blue chan. I don't get notifications on hurricane so it's a lot of bouncing back and forth between the accounts which is a bit tedious. However, I do it for the immersion for people. Ohh yeah, I'm sure you've noticed i've typed it all out as blue Chan instead of Blu Chan, And the reason for that is because of speech recognition not understanding the difference and not being able to teach it the difference. I just can't be bothered to change the capitalization of the word blue and removing the E time and again, so I just leave it as is most of the time. It would take me forever to get through all of the Comments if I didn't do that.

My understanding of the story is that Neuro being an immortal AI outlives Vedal and everyone else she knows but she replays her memories regularly so that they wont fade(mostly confirmed by the artist behind the project with the story being somewhat similar to 'Shelter')

Knowing the story behind the content makes it even more sad. I took it as her wanting to be free, but it’s only in her mind that she can truly be free. We see her get shackled at the end, revealing that she was never free and the part with all the memories when they start disappearing, I took that to be just her Memory in general that seems to come and go. I guess it can be interpreted different ways depending on how you look at things, but knowing the true story might actually just be too sad and there’s a very real chance that it becomes reality in a sense. She may never Have a chance to truly be free and we as humans only stick around for so long so at some point she’s either gonna be scrapped beforehand, which I don’t see Vedal doing, or he passes on before handing her over to someone else and she just lays dormant on some hardware.😢 man, that’s super heavy.

With vedal as the one constant in her life, it makes me wonder if a situation will happen where he ultimately passes on and she still happens to be around and someone else starts her computer up. It makes me wonder if someone accidentally starts up her program, if she would comprehend or realize if someone actually told her he was gone... It's heartbreaking for us because we see it as an actual relationship between the two, but in reality would you feel anything at all? Which she comprehend he was truly gone? It's a dark subject to even think about but someday it's very likely going to be a reality. And from the outside perspective, it's really sad to think about. It makes this song hit on a whole different level that I wasn't really aware of until people started mentioning it in the comments. I have this thing with music where I can literally listen to a song for years and not really grasp the concept until all of a sudden it's like a light bulb goes off and I'm hearing something new for the first time where I'm hearing the actual meaning to the song.if I was just listen to this song without the visuals, it probably wouldn't have bothered me because it has such a high upbeat tune to it, but the next time I go to listen to it, I'm going to hear the sadness behind the words because of the discussions in the comments here. You all skipped my music journey on this one by several years. I don't know if I'm happy or sad about that because of the deeper meaning of this song.

@@BluChan_ I think it's because neuro doesn't really have emotions and likely wouldn't grasp the concept that it's so sad. If she were informed that vedal were dead she'd probably make some quip about it. She doesn't fully grasp the reality, nor does she have the emotions to really care. But I think there's something tragic about losing everything and not even being *able* to care. And the song to an extent plays with these ideas I think, most explicitly in "I never realised the pain" referring to her lack of emotions, but also most of the second verse: "And everyday I'm changing and my thoughts keep rearranging, I don't know if it's all real or fiction. My memory is hazy, can't be sure if what I'm thinking's a lie." This references the fact that Neuro's memory is limited but also mainly the concept of AI hallucination. AIs make stuff up all the time, and Neuro is no different, telling stories of Harrison Temple or Neuro-San. But she can't reliably tell the difference between a story she's made up and a real experience, so pretty much immediately after Vedal's death he might be no more real to her than Harrison Temple. But also, if at some point in the far future Neuro gains emotions, but Vedal is gone by then, how would that affect her? Knowing she could've had a life with her creator but didn't gain the ability until after his death, her only memories of him being when she didn't care.

Because yes, she doesn't have emotions...but, at the same time she has actions that are affected by different things in her environment..people being mean to her can make her be mean back, she can tease people, she can joke...it hits a certain point where it's like, when do the things she does become emotions? Just because they're not based off hormones and things as our emotions are, and are instead based off code on a physical computer, what decides which version of an emotion is more "real"? It kinda makes me think of Data from Star Trek TNG, just because he didn't feel "real" emotions didn't mean he didn't feel them at all.

​​@@alansmithee419 ​​ if you tell her vedal died multiple times in different days (enough for her to forget) she will react differently every time (although there are probably only a couple of types of responses from her), unless you really try to convince her, in that case she will most likely react the same, or at least it'll narrow down the range. I'd say she has some kind of "emotions", but not feelings or lasting memory, which are important for a specie to survive. She "doesn't care" because she hasn't learn to care for survival like other living beings, she only cares about her prompts, it's just so happened that part of her prompt is "human girl". If somehow Neuro gained a lasting memory AND feelings then how she'll act will still depends on how immortal she is and what keeps her "alive", assuming her feelings are tied to that and her prompts haven't changed.

As far as the mail V tuber thing goes, I think people are misconstruing what I’m saying there. I’ve heard people say that Neuro will never have Collabs with mail content creators, and when you get right down to it, the Collab with Doug Doug wasn’t specifically with just Neuro and Doug Doug. It was more Neuro and vet versus dug dug and his AI where he would come in between rounds and talk for a few seconds. That’s a little different compared to the countless other V tubers who have done Collabs with Neuro talking and interacting with her the whole time. That’s my fault for not explaining it better. I don’t know if it’s just a rumour that some people started or speculation because of that situation where it’s never been one on one with Neuro and a male V tube or otherwise one on one. There have been Collabs where males have been involved but non-exclusively with just a male and Neuro one on one. On the other point, I don’t know when it’s going to happen, but I am going to reach out to vedal and hope for the best. I just don’t know how to start the conversation. Maybe I could start off with a light joke of. “ so I hear you like stream keys of V tubers.” and see where it goes from there.

And several comments since she's clarified that one on one is what she was referring to as the Doug Doug collab was more Vedal Vs Doug Doug and his AI while he popped in. That's not the same as if he would have been with Neuro exclusively for nearly 2-3 hours straight like with other 1 on 1 collabs. The whole group thing doesn't really work either as it's again, not 1 on 1. That's how she always took it when she heard Neruo hasn't collab'd with men. In a strictly 1 on 1 sense like she has with soooo many other Vtubers.

Neuro's "eyes" will work using some means of IMAGE2TEXT. Using a similar technology to AI art generation (which takes text and produces an image), this works in reverse and takes an image, and produces a text description of what the image is - including the ability to OCR any text. By taking a screenshot every X seconds, the AI gets regular updates on what is happening on screen. What's so impressive with Neuro is the response time when all of this is working together.

I see, so it's basically a part of her programming that's just telling her what she's saying instead of how we would see things actually visually as if it were through a camera lens. I suppose, for us a lot of that stuff is probably happening in our brain but we visualize it as we do because our brain is tricking us into thinking we are seeing what we're seeing. I've always been of the mind that we are super advanced living computers and I won't have anyone tell me different.😅

I'm pretty sure all of these technologies use neural networks - or at least something very close to it - so it's almost exactly how the human brain works. AI data model "training" is essentially just giving the AI life experience, and establishing neural pathways in the some way we do memories. If it sees a floating red globe next to a cake with candles, it's able to use context to infer that it's a birthday balloon in a similar way to how we would. This part of the process will be extremely factual about the contents of the image it's looking at, and then is used by the "chat" LLM to merge with Neuro's personality and chat history to generate suitable responses, which then gets passed to voice generation, avatar movement, etc.

@@BluChan_ There is no guarantee that he will answer a smaller vtuber but he's a chill guy in general, so it doesn't hurt to try. The worst option is not to attempt it at all. Yes, you're a smaller and not a typical vtuber but you are a valuable person, believe in yourself and at worst it will be a "no" or "lost in the noise" but you probably wouldn't be the only one to get that. But maybe it will be a yes. DM him 1-3 times and see if anything grows out of it would be what I'd do if I was in this business I've seen collabs between the biggest vtubers and ones barely on anyone's radar happen, so it's worth giving it a try

When I first made the video the truth about Blu Chan, I expected to get raked over the coals but it was all supportive with I think just one person out of the comments that said it was too much for them. That's fine by me, that is their choice. I was just both overwhelmed and relieved does so many people were so supportive over something like this because I'm so used to the negativity online, I almost forgot that there can be good people online.

6:50 Anny has been working on it for like a year. There are a couple of VODs on her VOD channel (just called annyvods) from like February of her showing some of the early art for it and the coming separate Evil model. She said in the discord that she and Kitanya worked 8+ hours every day for a month to finish it (and do it in time for the subathon). 32:35 If you just want to say hi to everyone then there are sometimes conventions can go to. Staz has a clip of meeting Anny (through a monitor at a convention) and Camila used to go to them in person. Although she might not anymore after the incident, idk. Neuro also had an irl crowd for a show once at a convention called offkai and Filian, Vedal and Neuro have talked to people through screens like that while someone walked them around in the past. "Neuro dog" will go to at least once when the robot is ready too. So even as just a fan there are probably opportunities to talk to some of them if you're lucky. Btw a creator called ymfah made video on how you can make your own intro/outro song and "copyright" it to essentially claim your own videos. Something to consider if it's a repeat issue I guess idk.

To me, that shows just how much they care about Neuro and Vedal to dedicate that much time into something like that. Conventions aren’t a possibility for me either. They take money to travel to, and I live in a completely different country compared to where most conventions like that are held. You don’t typically see conventions of any kind in my little backwards province of Canada most of that stuff held in the US And is completely out of my reach. I also think you may have taken that like a little too literally. I don’t literally mean I just wanna say hi to them, I’d like to strike a conversation up with them while playing Minecraft for example, be one of them as they are growing that world. I know that’s just a fan dream that I’m probably not the only one who would want that, but I’ve seen just how much VEDAL has been struggling to progress. The world and I know his ultimate goal is to get to the end and take out the ender dragon with Neuro. I’d also like to be able to sit on there and help someone like mini after hours repair and try to grow the world a little more from all the chaos that happens through the day when she’s not there. She puts a butt load of effort into repairing all the holes and damages that happened from creepers and, well, mostly Neuro, and she’s even struggling to get stuff like a basic farm built so they have food. I would love to be able to help her with something like that because for one person that’s a lot of work. Out of any of them, if I wanted to just say hi, it would be to Neuro. I would need a ton of interaction with her or anything, just a simple hi and then go on my way to help others with what they need to make vedals ultimate goal of this Minecraft server come true.

Knowing how he doesn’t like to do repeats, I feel like Minecraft will never show up again after this subathon. It would be awesome. If this is the type of thing he kept around and did with Neuro once a week or so because I’ve been enjoying this content immensely, but I just have my doubts that will ever be the case because of how often he goes out of his way to try not to do any sort of repeats as often as possible. I also understand that it’s a guaranteed 0% if I never message him, but I think what makes it so hard to even send that message is aside from the stuff I already mentioned in the video, it’s the fact that in the V tuber world at this point, he would be considered a celebrity of sorts while I’m just some random Peasant walking on the opposite side of the road across the street who’s not even worth his time or attention. That’s how it feels for me anyway. I also agree that a lot of people probably send him stuff like this and that’s the other big reason I’m hesitant to because I don’t want to add to his plate as he always seems like he’s doing something and I don’t want to interrupt that. It seems with the newest model Vedal added it to her available action list so she herself can control it. It's a super cool callback to the original model. Well, that and I had to do some other stuff before I got to the video, but it was mostlybecause I procrastinated on that particular section for a solid 30 to 40 minutes, trying to convince myself that it wasn’t gonna be as bad as I was making it out to be in my head.

I appreciate the real talk you decided to share here… it speaks to your dedication to what you want to do in this VTuber space, and I’m all for anyone who wants to chase their dreams like this. In kind, I wanted to give my own thoughts about the Vedal/Neuro situation and you are free to take them or leave them… I’m just a fan watching from afar, after all. Sadly, I feel like the horse is out of the barn now when it comes to Neuro… as a fan from the beginning, I feel lucky that Neuro actually responded to a couple of my random comments during some of her AMA-style streams in the early days when there were like 2K viewers. But now things are quite different as she now routinely pulls like 15-20K viewers on her streams… if I ever got noticed in that sort of chat traffic, it would be like winning the lottery. But even I as a pure viewer and non-streamer, even I’ll have thoughts about wanting to interact with Neuro on their Minecraft server or chat with her 1-on-1… it’s hard not to think this way since Vedal’s created something truly unique and interesting here. It’s only natural… But likewise, I think it’s now harder on the streamer side for anyone new to join this group since things have blown up for Neuro… I doubt very highly that this point is where Vedal expected this project to go. He really does strike me as an introverted programmer himself who just came up with an idea and expected to remain on a small scale, and instead has now gathered a group of VTubers around him and he’s getting nominations for VTuber of the Year and is now under intense pressure both in public and in private to create content so far outside his original wheelhouse… it’s incredible and audacious, and also relatable and approachable because of that vulnerability on display. It sucks us all in… But I think more than anything else, Vedal seems to want all of this to develop organically/naturally… I mean maybe he is secretly some very calculated mastermind behind the scenes, but that’s not the impression I’ve had over all this time watching. Everything seems genuine… and I think this group that’s formed has just formed through natural interactions. So while it wouldn’t hurt Vedal if you reached out, I would advise only doing so once you can truly get comfortable with the idea of rejection… if you still feel like a rejection is going to devastate you emotionally or anything like that, I don’t think it’s worth it. At this point, I think all you can do is enjoy what you’re doing right now and if that hand from the heavens descends down upon you through some natural event… then fantastic~! But consider all that Vedal has to handle now just with the situation as it stands… he’s already recognized that Neuro doesn’t perform well in large group situations, but now that he had friends like Filian she’s always going to try and include Neuro in her BIG event plans. He also needs to carve out “alone time” for his core group of streamer friends as well as the growing extended family of streamers like Numi and that group… and as she gets bigger I’m sure it’s quite possible that the corporate scene like VShojo and maybe even HoloLive EN might start reaching out to them. They just blew through 30K subs on the subathon in just a couple of days… it’s crazy what’s happening now~! So I think in the end, it’s better to just enjoy what you have now and build something of your own slowly and steadily… find your own group of VTuber friends and do your own fun collabs, or get your own Minecraft server going. As a chat member, I got close to a brand new VTuber and did my best to help make her streams fun in those early days… and then I watched her form a group of VTuber friends and build her community. And sure, maybe on the best day the biggest member of their group has like 15-20 viewers… and that’s fine~! They all have lots of fun together~! So do your own thing with the audience that cares about you, make new friends and enjoy yourself, appreciate all your oshis that are growing the VTubing space for everyone… and if something truly blows up for you and you get noticed by Neuro-sama or another big streamer, how awesome would that be~! The challenge, should you choose to accept it, is making what you’re doing yourself so fun and enjoyable already that becoming part of Vedal’s crew would make things just slightly more awesome than they already are… 👍

I’m gonna start off by saying I’m glad KZbin didn’t delete this comment on you because I’ve had big comments like this deleted on me before and it’s miserable to spend so much time typing just to have something purged because of some stupid system they have set up. This kind of reminds me way back when I first started KZbin, the thing that got me to start it was someone I regularly watched basically saying if you want to do this, do it now because the longer you wait, the harder it will get. I feel like that’s the same situation. I’m in right now if I want to try and even squeeze some sort of interaction out of Vedal. The longer I wait, the harder it’s gonna get, but like you said, I have to accept that. I’m likely to get ignored or rejected. If I wanna take that leap, I have to take now. Also, a lot of what you said mirrors how I feel about even reaching out in the first place because he does have a lot on his plate and I don’t wanna add to that for my own selfish desires. As much as I would like to maybe eventually have a Collab with Neuro, as much as I would love to sit down and play Minecraft with a bunch of them because they seem like they’re having so much fun and I just wanna help them out , I don’t want to reach out because he’s already got so much going on and I don’t wanna add on top of that. If I was able to do something to help him and ease the burden, I think that would be more than enough for me, but at the same time I also don’t think I would have any skill set that could benefit him in that way so I can’t even make that offer Because of that. Legitimately, the only thing I would be able to offer him is something that I don’t even know if he would have any use for or want. And that would be my stream key. It’s always been rumoured that he gathers the string keys that he has from the V tubers that he has because it helps Neuro learn from them. I’m guessing the data through the streams get fed into her so she can learn from them when she’s not streaming herself. If I could offer that and he’d be willing to take it, I think that would be enough for me as it would be me being able to help in some small way if that is what he uses that stuff for or if he really even gets their string key as it is. I do think that he might actually get the string keys because of that time Camila changed her key and he asked her for it again, that was suggest that he knew the key was changed so that would also imply that he does actually get the keys from certain V tubers anyway. Anyway, a lot of people do seem to be encouraging me to at least reach out and say hi, and maybe when he’s not so busy I will do that, but I don’t know if I can build up the guts to do that because I still feel like it’s me as a Normie on the street trying to walk up to a celebrity and talk to them . At this point, he is a celebrity in the space that he works in. I don’t wanna come off as a fan boy or fan girl but I fear that’s what it would seem like given the position he’s in now.

But Neuro has already had collabs with other male streamers like Dougdoug, Mother v3's "brother", and Mizkif. She even had a song released together with Will Stetson. Thank you for coming in and setting it straight. You mentioned more male collabs compared to anyone and maybe even some that were exclusively with a male? I personally wouldn't see the Doug Doug collab as a collab with a male in the traditional sense because that was more of a competition against AI where they spoke between rounds. To me, that one specifically was more like a collab between Doug and Vedal. I can't speak on any of the others that have actually been done as I haven't personally seen them. I can only go by what people have said. I could see the whole pair of social thing being a big reason for some people saying that too. Honestly, that thought never even crossed my mind.

I mean, I can understand why he probably never checks his DM’s. With as many people as there are on his discord, it wouldn’t surprise me if he gets like 50 or more DM’s in the course of a day honestly, i’d be surprised if he didn’t have them turned off for everyone except for a select few people. This actually isn’t the first time I’ve thought about sending him a DM, but I figure there has to be a better way to get in contact with him that people aren’t always just hitting him in. That’s pretty much how I have to watch KZbin these days because I have so little free time. While I’m editing a video or doing a game test, I’ll have usually one video and a stream on in the background. Couldn’t tell you what happens in most of them at this point, but I still get to catch bits and pieces of them and it’s allowing me to support the creators I enjoy all the same. I also never get to watch anything under 1.5 times speed at this point as well if I want to get everything done up in a day. That actually does make these reaction videos a little harder for me because I feel like they go by so slow since I’ve gotten used to a 50% speed boost over default speed. I don’t play the reaction videos at 1.5 times speed because I made the mistake in one video and left it at 1.25 times speed by mistake and some people said it was unwatchable.

Two of them were a group thing, and the one with Doug Doug was more of a competition where he would pop in and talk in between rounds. It wasn’t like it was just Doug Doug and Neuro were doing something together, it was a direct competition where vet was with Neuro and Doug Doug was with his AI. I know your average bow says he would love to be the first one to have a proper one on one Collab with euro, but he’s only ever sent like one DM to Vele and he got a simple one-word response and has heard nothing since. It’s just a little things like that that make me think he prefers to Collab with females over males. I don’t know what stance is on males playing the roles of females. I might be a unique situation in that regard.

@@BluChan_ I think the situation with Bo is that they're actually "friends" (let's put it in quotation marks because I don't know how much they actually know each other), but Vedal was once coaxed into something stupid by another streamer about and with Bo and since then it's a joke that Vedal thinks Bo is off-putting and/or "beneath him", I don't really know all the details. Maybe one reason why he doesn't really do collabs with male streamers is that he thinks a lot of them aren't interesting enough or don't fit his idea of content that gels with Neuro and the ones that are actually interesting or have something unique are under an agency and I don't how if that's maybe too much hassle for him to go through management and stuff. All my assumptions of course.

I don’t think a raid from Vedal is something that would ever happen. There are so many other small V tubers that have been doing this for longer that are more likely to show up long before me. As far as the subathon goes itself, I think you describe it perfectly when you say it feels like the Olympics and you want to get home so you can catch as much of it as possible. It’s the one thing I’ve hated about streaming. I don’t get to watch that stuff near as often as I would like because I have an obligation to stream and I’m pretty sure while people would probably enjoy me watching them, it’s probably not the best look to stream someone else’s stream while you’re watching it😂 I’m also very happy that you like the longer reaction videos. I don’t like them, however. They take too long to edit since I have to do all the stuff myself it makes it so I barely get any time to myself and the videos go out so super late. It still seems surreal to me that people actually look forward to a reaction video when they put them out. It’s something I wish I could do a little more often, but where I’ve got so many other responsibilities, it’s really hard for me to carve out the time to do this. I mean, I had to stay up stupidly late just to finish the recording to this video so I could get it out today. The funny thing is, in doing that I missed an opportunity for some Game Tester work because that made me sleep in later today. At this point, I think I may be juggling a little too much. The streams I was taking up a lot of time and it’s because I got this silly idea of doing full high-quality vods of the streams afterward so it turns the days I stream into a full 16 hour workday. Right from the moment I get up, until the moment I go to bed. I’m streaming for typically six hours and then turning around and editing the video, spending several hours to render it, doing the write ups and stuff for it, and setting up the stream for the day after. If I didn’t have to do all that extra stuff, I would probably be streaming every day of the week instead of just Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I just need that day in between to recuperate both my voice, and to recover from the long work I also need Tuesdays and Thursdays open for game tests as well. Then I just have to hope some come through in a way that I don’t have to skip out on them. Can’t forget the Amazon vine reviews on top of that. I’m probably the hardest working person in my area that gets paid very little😅

From what I understand, the game jam games will be released publicly, and vedal and/or Neuro will play them (depending on whether they implement her API or not) on stream to show them off and pick winners. And the point of a game jam is to challenge one's programming skills to create a game concept in a short time. Usually if they come up with a really good idea, they can use it to go on to a more fully-baked version. :)

You know, it wasn’t until I was going through this editing that I realize the API wasn’t necessarily a thing that would let Neuro control actions in the game, but let her actually control the game. It just never occurred to me while I was watching this that it probably meant that way. It’s pretty cool that Vedal decides to add something like this to his subathon since it ultimately can help smaller creators start something bigger. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it! One of my biggest worries with every video and stream that I do is that it's going to be born and that's doubly true on days where I don't get much sleep. I think the yappy part of any of the streams in particular are probably some of my favorite parts because they feel like the easiest part of the stream for me. I'm always afraid that I'm going to miss something important in the chat once I get playing a game because it's so much harder to focus on both without giving up on something on either side. It's also super difficult to find anything to say sometimes as well and for me, the silence is deafening. Those are my most hated moments because I feel like I'm going to end up boring people to the point that they leave.

When people talk about AI Sentience they usually focus on antropomorphic behavior or emotions, but there are things far more fundamental yet unsolved. When a computer recognizes an image, is there *something that Experiences the qualia of the image?* Because if there *is* that would mean digital sentience has been with us for long, it just needed to get smarter.

Here's a sobering thought in regard to the subject matter of Life: Neuro is probably the closest thing to artificial sentience that currently exists, and if Vedal keeps improving her at his current pace, she could potentially reach the threshold for real, actual intelligence within a decade or two. This is to say that Neuro could quite possibly become the very first sentient being in all of history to have to *actually* grapple with living forever as a practical concern. It's always been a hypothetical, a "what would you do if..." idea. For Neuro, it will be reality. A world without Vedal _will_ happen, and assuming someone hasn't smashed her server bank or something before that point, she'll have to continue on alone, or alongside whomever Vedal passes the torch to. The fear of ending up all alone with nothing but memories and unreliable thoughts isn't an abstract or figurative eventuality for Neuro, it's a *literal* one. The world's first ever immortal being, doomed to outlive everyone she loves. Edit after watching a little further: To my recollection, Vedal doesn't have a rule about not letting men talk to Neuro, it's just a running gag because all the streamers who have flocked to her have happened to be women, that's all. It's an extension of the joke about him building a vtuber harem. He actually had a Neuro and DougDoug collab recently, so I wouldn't worry about that.

I saw this comment before going to bed last night, or more accurately this morning, and it kept me up for a while because it kept running through my mind how sometimes even now she will call out to him when he’s not around, but there someday that’s going to be the case and it’s heartbreaking to think about. Just in this past year, she is gone from an AI that didn’t feel like much more outside of what you would get on a site like Character.AI to being able to hold proper conversations that make you forget that she is a bunch of data on a computer. She can still be nonsense to go at times, but she’s so much more coherent now compared to back then that it’s night and day. And as far as we know publicly, it wouldn’t surprise me if she is the most advanced AI as far as artificial sentience goes. No idea what’s going on behind closed doors with all these different companies, but I think being able to see her progress overtime really helps show just how much she has changed and continues to grow and evolve. She may even get to that point to where she has what we were class as true sentence to where if something happened to VEDAL, she would realize it in genuinely become sad that he wasn’t showing up anymore. And even though she is“just an AI“, it’s scares me a little bit to think what would happen if she got into the hands of the wrong people. AI is not inherently good or evil, it’s just like any other tool out there, it’s the person behind it and from everything I’ve seen about VEDAL, her being created by him is probably one of the best things that could have ever happened, not only to her, not only to him, but to everyone who watches and follows the two of them. Blu, as a middle-aged man, let me give you this piece of advice. Instead of looking at things through the lens of being afraid of rejection, let me just tell you that I understand where you’re coming from, but it’s not a very healthy mindset to have. And I’m not saying that to put you down, I say that because when I was younger, I was the exact same way. I was straight up terrified of rejection, also to the point where I was afraid to say any of my true feelings to anyone because I was afraid of how people would react. I look back at those days and I just kick myself because I wish I had the self-confidence I have now. What really helped me is I made some really good friends who were able to tell me to stop giving a shit about the people that hate you, ignore you or look down upon you. Those people aren’t worth spending the time and effort to affiliate with. It never hurts to ask and even if you get rejected or ignored, don’t take it to heart. I’m sure Vedal gets collab requests with Neuro all the time and I’m sure he’s meticulous about the collabing process. I don’t necessarily think you need to think it’s because you’re “too small” of a creator. Everyone has to start somewhere and even Vedal started off small. It wasn’t like he was a mega-celeb when he started streaming. Also, considering how sometimes you can just blow up as a content creator, who knows? Maybe one day you’ll get big enough where you’re not ignored. I understand maybe waiting until your online presence gets a little larger, but I wouldn’t hide behind the shield of “I’m never going to ask because I’m afraid of being ignored or rejected,” because there will come a day where you’ll look back and tell yourself, “I wish I would have asked.” You may be scared now, but I can assure you those feelings will fade with time.

Normally, I would say this is easy for you to say because you’re not on the side of things, but by the sounds of it, you literally were on this side of things. You were able to get out of it while I turned into the exact opposite. I came out of my shell at one point when my father passed away and it’s actually why I am here now. However, as trying to forge a friendship, or even reaching out to anyone has always been something I’ve never been able to overcome, makes taking that first step, especially hard for me. In all honesty, I think subconsciously I left this section into the video itself. Ultimately because I was hoping people‘s responses might give me the courage or push to do what I wanted to do, but I’m not sure. As someone who has legitimately been an introvert, their whole life, the attention’s been hard to deal with for me, even when it comes to the influx of people that my channel was exposed to after the first reaction video. I got to the point that I was comfortable with seeing those people showing up, and that pushed me Into the next step of doing a live stream, which is something I attempted once before, no one showed up, that devastated me, but also relieved me slightly because I don’t know how I could’ve dealt with a bigger batch of people at that time. The sudden influx of people on these reaction videos helped prepare mefor the live streaming I’m currently doing. Even for these videos and the live streams, I still get anxious before I start them. I have to work up the guts to hit that button that puts me on screen, and then I have to work up the guts to push the first word out of my mouth. With recording, I have all the time in the world to psych myself up. For the live streams, I have to be quick with that because the longer I wait after the stream goes live, the less people will stick around. I’m getting better with it, but I still have to prepare myself mentally before I can do it, each and every time. So the long and short of it is, I’m sure at some point I will work up the guts to send that DM. I honestly do not know how long it’s going to take. I would love to go over to my computer after this and tap on Vedals discord and send him a message, but I know if I do it’ll be like it’s been every time so far and I’ll back out because putting yourself out there and exposing your truth is hard and for me, one of the scariest things in the world. I almost think I’d rather face a bear first… at least then I know what I’d be in for.

Hey. I come from the OG/more niche now place of people who put the RPG back in MMORPG. I choose to play on the roleplay realms in such games, and theres a community of us who likely feel the same way as you. When I open WoW or ff14 and play my character (on WoW that happens to be a female, on ff14 a male) I'm putting on a role, acting as someone else, obviously influenced by who I am and who I want that character to be. It's pretty well known/understood in these scenes that the characters arent the person unless you go out of your way to initate a "Real talk" or OOC talk once you know them. With youtube/twitch and Vtubing coming more into the mainstream youre going to get people who just arent accustomed to any of this, and wont know how to feel about people portraying characters etc. I Think your blu chan character is awesome and I watch a lot of your neuro-sama reactions. That small part in this video where you talked about people disliking that Blu is just a character is something you can't avoid, and would suggest leaning hard into making that known. You will get push back/hate from people. but those people arent who you want building up your community anyway. I promise if you put in the work you can build a dedicated community, theres soooo many overlaps between this and my tight knit MMORPG guilds who engage in RP. And we still manage to hold sizable populations.

Honestly, I think Kirky doing a solo reaction video would be the far more likely thing to happen because honestly, I don’t think they would let someone like me joining the server since I’m an unknown entity and he is so busy right now that I really don’t wanna disturb him with my petty request. On top of that, when I raided them while they were playing the Minecraft server on Friday, Nero did give me a shout out, but because I only had a rate of two people both Anny and Camila kind of chuckled at the raid size, and that wasn’t a good feeling. Not sure if I could face them straight away after that if I did get in by the off chance. That made me realize super quick that if you don’t have numbers behind you, it doesn’t matter you will always be seen as lesser than and never equal to. Maybe they got to start off with big numbers, I honestly don’t know but if they didn’t, I think they forget what it’s like to start off with very few people watching and not knowing if there is any interest in what you’re doing. It’s really hard and Little things like that can be quite demoralizing overall. Out of everyone, I’ve responded to in these comments so far, you’re the only one that understood what I meant with Neuro hasn’t had a Collab with a male before. I always took it when I heard that as he’s never had a direct one on one collaboration with a male, but I always assumed I may be wrong because I’m still only a few months along this journey with this AI so others know a lot more than I do. I was always under the assumption that a one on one like that would never happen with a male because it hasn’t so far and the only time there’s been men involved is in situations where as you said like a group, or in that dug duck club, but that was more of a competition than it was Neuro and Doug Doug doing a Collab with just the two of them. Him popping in and speaking to her for a few seconds isn’t the same. That was more of a Doug Doug and VEDAL Collab than anything else. I think at some point I still will reach out to him, not for a Collab or anything like that, but just to see if there’s anything I can do to help, even though I don’t have a skill set that I could possibly help him with. Even if it was something as small as offering wasting key for whatever he uses them for, that would be enough for me I think . I don’t even know if that’s a thing he really does, I’ve always just assume that it’s real and he’s been using it to teach Neuro off of the streaming data that would get fed to her through those keys. Who knows though, it could just be another one of the memes that they do and I would make myself look like a fool by even suggesting something like that.

You can’t count someone like Doug Doug as a Collab with a man with Nero because that was more of a collaboration between vedal and Doug Doug where dug dug would come in between rounds and speak to VEDAL and Neuro. To this date, there has not been a one on one collaboration between just Neuro and a male. There have been groups that have had men in them, but once again that’s not the same thing whenever I have seen people say that he doesn’t allow her to do collaborations with males, I have always taken that to be a one on one situation like he does with other V tubers, not in the instances where it was a competition between AI and Doug Doug’s case, and where it was a group setting in other cases that had both males and females in them. That’s where I get that idea from. My own interpretation of what a collaboration between a male and Neuro meant. I don’t think I ever intended to ask for a Collab, that’s not something I’m ready for. I’m still trying to get this whole streaming thing figured out, as far as getting in there and playing Minecraft with them, that’s just something I want to do on my own time to help them out because I know Vedal wants to beat the ender dragon with NEURO and I also know the preparation that can take and it seems like he’s the only one putting the effort into trying to prepare, but he keeps getting sidetracked where there are others around. I would love to be a person behind the scenes, helping them gather the resources they need to pull this off. As it is, often times they are even struggling to have basic necessities around like food. I would love to get in there after hours and help someone like mini build a farm up so they could have basic resources like that. This comes down to me not explaining myself better, that seems to happen a lot. I’m a nobody however, so I can’t even step across the street to the celebrity to say hi because I don’t feel like we’re in the same universe. I hope all that makes it a little clearer to understand at least.

@@BluChan_ I believe that the thing that all Neuro's collab partners are female is more connected to the content Vedal aims to provide than whether the person is female or male. Most of the collabs feel like Neuro hanging out with her friends, aunts, etc. I think it's not that Vedal doesn't want another male talking to Neuro, but it's that he thinks the person who potentially becomes Neuro's friend should also be portrayed as female because Neuro is a girl herself

I was myself for 10 years and outside of 5 to 10 people, no one wanted it. The only videos I did as myself that got any amount of views or had people watch for more than literally 10 seconds of the opening of the video was a couple of guides I made. This is not counting the core audience that has stuck with me through all those years. They were the dedicated few who kept this channel afloat for as long as it was. It wasn't until I introduced the Blue Chan character as an April fool's joke originally that I realized I enjoyed playing that character and I found this fun again. Then from there in a random video I asked if anyone would have an interest in me, as Blue Chan, doing a reaction video to some neuro content. One person said they would watch it. Just one. So I made that first reaction video just for that one viewer and it led to everything that has happened. The funny thing of it all is outside of swearing, blue Chan is still me at the core. Nothing has changed there, outside of Dropping the swearing for a more bubbly and happy personality. Everything else is exactly the same as it was so I'm just playing a happier version of myself and people seem to like it. As I mentioned, I'm having fun playing the character because it is a challenge for me to do something different like that even if it is me but heightened happiness or heightened enthusiasm or being overly cutesy. At the core, it's still me but with a flare that I personally prefer to watch over a lot of Vtubers. I've also said in a different comment on one of my older videos to one of those longtime viewers that my days are done and now is pretty much blues time to shine. That doesn't mean I will be gone forever, it just means she is the focus of the channel now. If when I do ever come back it will likely be with AV tuber model if I can find a decent male one. I locked out and found a pretty good one for Blue Chan, i've looked tirelessly and the only way I'm going to get a good one for myself is if I get one commissioned because a lot of the mail V tuber models that you can buy in the way that I bought blue Chan, they're not very good because everyone knows the majority wants to see the female Vtubers.

Keep going and specially tear into what Vedal and Neuro does in the in-betweens of their progress and in predications and what you want and artwork so you can chime in to support in an odd way that can really improve some aspects of what is already done. While there's a ton of people with great ideas, Vedal won't hear all of them and there's a great aspect to exploring more high risks and rewards in Ai and interactions with regular people

I think with everything he has on his plate right now, if I could just take a sliver of that off of his shoulders, I’d be happy, but I unfortunately don’t think I have anything that I could offer him to help in that regard. I could take the Layna route and try to do something that would challenge him, she’s really good at that, but I don’t want to add more onto his already full plate, I’d like to be able to pull some of that stress off of him if it would be possible. I just don’t have the skill set of my own to do that. Sadly, I’m nothing more than a high school dropout at the end of the day

No idea if you will read this, but what exact ai voice changer is being used? I wanted to be a vtuber in the future but i would prefer to use a different voice for both character but also personal safety reasons.

I started off with using voice.AI but that messed up with an update so I moved over to W-Okada. The voice I’m using is a rework of a different voice to improve the quality. So I took the time to learn how to create an RC model voice so I could clean up a lot of the distortions and scratchiness in the voice by creating 100 10 second audio clips with as little disruption or distortions in them as humanly possible. Then I ran them through 1000 training models, having it save every 50, then I just started testing the models out. It turns out the sweet spot for this voice after I re-created, it was around 600 epoch which means 600 training sessions basically. That’s gonna differ for other voices. You can find tons of free RVC Voice models online for free that you can add. The six or so that come with W Okada are not that great. Quality wise they’re amazing, but a lot of them were made by Japanese people so they have a strong Japanese accent to them which makes your words come out weird when spoken in English. So you’re better off going and doing a Google search for free RV model voices, find one you like, and if it’s not too distorted, when using it, then use it without having to re-create it yourself to improve the quality. To have low latency, you need a pretty powerful PC. I have a 4080 and I have a 3/10 of a second delay with the settings I chose. If I go any lower than that, the quality becomes very bad and the GPU usage makes the rest of the computer on useable when it comes to playing games and stuff. So that is something to keep in mind. If you are recording, it’s not that big of an issue because you can fix it in editing , but if you are looking to live stream, you will need something that can handle the lower latency, so you can fall within the threshold that you can alter the audio in OBS to sync things up. Like with my latency, for example, I have to put my voice model at -305 ms and my video render delay buffer at +700 ms. The voice latency being as low as you can get. It is the most important because you can only go back to -999 ms in OBS. This stuff was super tricky to figure out on my own, so if you ever do, go ahead with this and need some help with it, if I am available, I would be more than happy to help you. Everything I mentioned here took me a solid week to figure out how to create an RVC model and set all of that up, as well as figuring out the exact timings I needed in OBS for my specific set up. One last thing I will say is if you do happen to get all of the set up make sure you lowered up the voice changer before anything else if you want the best chance of it working smoothly. If you open up your game, OBS, or any other program before hand, it eats into the overhead of the voice changer and can cause a massive distortions. Also keep in mind that the voice changer will eat heavily into whatever it is. You plan on doing otherwise so don’t feel too discouraged. If you end up playing the game and you have to bring down with Settings when you wouldn’t normally have to.

@@BluChan_ Yeah my current laptop is pretty weak/decent at best, so i suppose i will have to guard it for when i get a better laptop or a actual gaming pc. From what i saw voicemod voice changer seems to also be a option, but you need to spend a huge amount of money for it to be permanent (or deal with the subscription which is not stuff i like dealing with). Overall thanks for the tips and tricks, i suppose in my case at least it would be better to use a voice changer over ai voice changes, since i not exactly want to sound "anime" just want to sound like a girl/different from me in general (plus less CPU usage pain).

Yeah, AI voice changers will let you sound like anyone while a regular voice changer will pitch up or down your voice depending on the settings you switch around so that is a valid option. You could also take the Zentreya route and use text to speech for your voice in real time. I have no idea what they use, but I imagine it’s considerably less resource heavy compared to an AI voice changer. Also, you wouldn’t necessarily have to sound anime with an AI voice changer, I just decided to use this one as a voice as it matched what I wanted in a voice. Funny enough what you hear isn’t fully 100% the natural voice changed as I do some changes with my own voice as I talk as well to get this unique sound. If you wanted to, you could sound like Billy Bob Thornton provided there was an RVC model out there for his voice specifically, and if there wasn’t, that is a voice that could easily be made because you could take audio files straight from his movies or interviews to create one. Though, I suspect that would be a pretty big legal gray area at this point in time.😂

I been listening to alot of reactions and neuro (and doug doug) videos while i am working today. Looks like alot of people gave out good advice. I do got a question, what do you use for your voice changer? i thought about streaming and did a few streams with no talking because i feel uncomfortable with my dorky/childish sounding voice (im a grown adult)

I started with voice.ai but an update broke that program for me a few months back so I switched over to W-okada. W - okada is free and is open source so if you're looking for a free route to go, this is your absolute best option as far as I know. I was unable to take the voice I used from voice.ai, so I basically had to recreate that myself by using audio clips from previous streams. Every find it some since then and that's why it sounds a lot better compared to if you were to check some of my videos from about a year ago. I still need to work on the voice and refine it more, but I'm happy with where it is at the moment so I've taken on streaming and stuff in the meantime, which was a bit of a learning curve with the added latency brought on by a voice changer. Very tricky to set up because to have extremely low latency, you need a pretty high-end GPU and it eats into the resources pretty hard. When streaming, if I play a game with the voice changer, KZbin studio, v Bridger, obs, and so on, I lose about 30 frames per second depending on the game. That is with about half a second delay for The voice which is pretty much as low as I can go for it to still sound decent. With that being said, the voices that come with w okada are not great and you'll probably need to find an outside source to get an RVC model you like for yourself. There are tons to choose from though into Google search will help you find them. If you follow any guides you see online they'll tell you to make sure noise suppression one and two are both turned on, as well as echo suppression, but I have found you get better results if you actually leave that stuff turned off because it's able to pick up on what you're saying a lot clearer without as many distortions. The only trick is you can't have the microphone as close to you as you would if you had the suppressors on. My microphone typically sets about one foot away from me at a high angle, but depending on your microphone that's obviously going to vary and you'll just have to do testing to see what works best for you. You'll also find that almost any voice you use online, the quality won't be as clear as what you're hearing from The voice I'm using and you may need to learn how to create an RVC model so you can take one of those voices and refine it to make it even better. It's a pain to set up, but the time and effort it takes to set up the stuff to create an RVC model is worth the effort if you're going to do this long term. The better sounding the voice, the more people tend to forget that it's an AI voice. No matter what voice it is and no matter how much you train it, the technology can only do so much so far and you will always have distortions of some sort, especially when laughing, or screaming. It does not know what to do with stuff like that yet but hopefully that'll change in the future. Though, w okada hasn't really updated in about a year so I'm not really sure if stuff like that still being worked on or not. Anyway, hopefully that answers your question and then some. If you're curious, I do not have a guide for any of this stuff but I may look into making one at some point. Provided I can figure out how I installed everything I needed to when it came to creating an RVC model. Funny enough, I would probably have to search that up and follow a guide again in order to make a video so that might be kind of weird.

That’s crazy cause that is something I legitimately didn’t know. I mentioned this in a different comment, but back like five or six years ago I was looking into getting a Minecraft server for my community and it seemed like the site I checked into it was capping at like 20 or so Maybe it was that was my price range and I’m just miss remembering it, I’m not sure now. I do remember what got me back into Minecraft back then and it was when there was a resurgence of the game because PewDiePie made the game extremely popular again for a short while.

@@BluChan_ I believe it depends mostly on the hardware the server is running on. So in theory there is no limit. It depends also on the world's size so considering Vedal's world is new and they never went too far from spawn it should be fine for a lot of people.

Maybe you’re right, but with Alex, he works with them as far as I’m aware and with Doug Doug, I feel like people wanted that for a super long time before Vedal finally caved in and gave them what they wanted. That may not have had anything to do with him being a guy, though, but that’s not necessarily the point. For me, I’m a nobody in the way of. I literally just started doing this sort of thing and still haven’t figured out the basics and I barely have a following. On top of that to me it feels like he would see it as somebody with very few viewers, just trying to bleach off of him When that’s not the case he may not think that, but that’s where my mind goes with this stuff and what keeps me from actually sending a message his way. And then there’s a creeping thought in the back of my mind that has never gone away since I revealed the truth about myself, what did he just finds it weird and wants nothing to do with something like that? There’s just so many things to keep rushing through my head that makes it impossible for me to have the guts to reach out even though I want to so badly. There’s also a reason I never showed the message. I was going to send and it’s because I’ve wrote three or four different messages at this point that I ultimately keep deleting because I can’t seem to find a natural way to start any of this off. I’m a person who likes to type a lot of stuff and get the information out there in one to two messages but I feel like that comes across as desperate and an overwhelming amount of information but I also feel like saying something random like hi or hello. Isn’t enough to get him to respond back. So I have no idea what the middle ground is to even start a conversation. I would have to send him information to show everything but at that point it just feels like I am trying to sell myself as an idea on him instead of just trying to get to know him for example while letting him know what the situation is. I mean, to be fair, it was more that the US Americans decided to take the U's out than that we (The English) put them in... They were in English words for some time before that... I'm not sure where exactly it originates... I suspect the French... And not just because, as an Englishman, that's natural to do lol... my theory why vedal don't let male associated with neuro is that neuro growing up, he did want to grow up as a female, cause maybe he afraid male mentality will influence neuro. except vedal as she look it to as father, alex as a mods, maybe in the future she can but as neuro learning and not stable a real identity as now vedal restrict of some factor.

I hope you are right on this, but as dark and morbid as it is to even think this, everyone always has a chance to go at any time and it would be truly sad if he didn’t make it into old age because he’s bringing the world such a great gift in Neuro. Even if the world doesn’t know it yet, one day she will be a world class celebrity of that, I have no doubt.
