Man I am *finally* sitting down and catching up on things. This was a great recap, awesome you had such a great race, well done! Totally random (your bike chat got me thinking about the bike), but: do you remember that first Do Not Pass bit of narrow path like... let's say 10mi into the course? Man, I FLEW through that. Either I missed the sign or something, but that almost ended my day right there. I ripped through that in aero and had no idea it was coming. Yikes. There were some people who truly flew down Snow. I'm not a great descender but I'm not terrible either; I remember this one man and woman for flew down side by side and just walked me; probably had another 8-10 on me. Very impressive.

Hey Justin - I completely agree with you. I was going 40-45 through that do not pass area. Luckily I was not in aero and no one was around me. I still heard the most awful crunch sound from that bump. Literally soft pedaled for about 20 seconds evaluating if I broke something on my bike or my body! It was a brutal! If I get a second chance at St George I will obviously need to push the hills harder to take advantage of the down.

Great breakdown. I'm glad I found your channel. Watts aren't everything and don't tell the whole story! Also, I'm going to try to make my own nutrition, based off your other video. Thanks!

Thanks! Try some mio in the drink mix. I have found it adds a needed flavor. Plain is fine, but flavored it a bit better.

Great review and Great detail! This is for me a great overview of what to expect on the 140.6 edition on 2022. It looks like an extreme Iron distance event… . Was anyone wearing a neoprene cap or similar( during swimming portion) .?

It is a very honest course - not the fastest overall, but the most enjoyable I have done (just did the 70.3 WC a week ago and it was awesome too)! I don't recall seeing anyone with neoprene cap, but I did double cap. hope you enjoy the world champ race next year!

Opinions on hitting higher power on the climbs knowing you have long recoveries on the decents

Do you really make up a lot of time by pushing on the downhills v saving yourself a bit. Have you tried riding the full course on FulGaz. Be interesting to see how that compares.
