That’s amazing! I bet you have some tips and tricks about bubbles in paint. My arch nemesis.. the bubble 😂😂😂. I torch them. But I stir them in when thickening paint and it’s just rubbish 😂
@Thefineartofdistraction Жыл бұрын
@@JaDeLRocks I mix all my paints & pigments the day before I pour & that helps a lot, but I still get bubbles when I pour so I just use my blow torch to pop the bubbles. Have you ever tried using pigments, I’m thinking of trying to use them for Mandalas, but my 1st 2-3 I will just use normal paints & then start mixing my own
@JaDeLRocks Жыл бұрын
Forethought would definitely help my bubble problem. I stink at that. I’ve never thought to use pigments and mix my own. Part of that is lazy but the other is tutorials.. it’s less complicating to show the bottle than creating a mixture. But I totally think it’s cool.

Hmmmm there’s a few ways to go about it but the easiest would be use this to get started and improvise the rest. Or.. you could try enlarging all the elements around 3 Xs the size? Absolutely beautiful. Do you put any water with your paints. I am struggling with my swooshes. They don't flow as lovely and smooth as yours. X
@JaDeLRocks2 жыл бұрын
Not in this video… these were brand new paints. They were perfect. I do add a bit of water to stubborn thick paints though. I have paint additives listed on my website at the art desk if you’d like to try something else. Just remember the key to good swooshes is: do one at a time, make your paints fluid, clean your tool off if it becomes junky as it dries… but most of all… don’t press to the rock. You want to kiss the rock with the paint. That’s why swooshes are a bit more difficult. It requires control, patience, and forethought… all of my weaknesses 😂😂😂😂

Oh Susan thank you. I number them for several reasons…. The number in the thumbnail is also the number on the back of the rock. It keeps me on track. And when someone buys it… that’s the reference I give them to see it being made. In the land youtube “they” say numbering is a bad idea… but when have I been known to listen 😂😂😂 if you get to giving it a try let me know, I’d love to see it. Rock on ♥️

Btw, when I discovered Deco Art Americana was soooooooo much better than the Craftsmart paint I had invested in, I didn’t want to use the Craftsmart anymore, but didn’t want to just waste it, either. A seasoned dotter advised I could use it as base paint on projects to help use it up. I love to paint mandalas on terra cotta pots and was thrilled to have new base colors for my pots and now I was justified in building my Deco Art Americana supply😂😍😂
