Blue Angels - End of the Runway! 2019 Winter Training Full High Show Practice

The US Navy Blue Angels perform a full high show practice on during their 2019 winter training period at NAF El Centro in California. This was the morning flight on March 7, 2019. Unfortunately, the high winds prevented the usual takeoff on runway 12.
Radio comms have been mixed in to the audio.

It’s the lead pilot I believe, he uses that monotone voice to indicate slow movements and etc to his wingman.

Not as nimble supposedly, but hopefully it'll give the blues some working room without having to worry about which jet is gonna break. Those old A's and B's were end of life many moons ago.

Love listening to the communications! Simply the best aerial show bar none. Great footage and sound. Thank you for sharing. Blessed to have worked as a fueler for 10 years, F-18's, C-130's , A-6's , Skyhawks etc. Blue Angels every year for 5 days straight. Miss those days.

each air boss over the years has developed his own style of command vocalizations and from the end of the runway you see the solos aren't as near to each other as they appear from show center...an optical illusion....and before the show the Boss picks landmarks on the ground to help with locations and timing of the routines....something else of interest....the 2/3/4 aviators pick a spot on the adjoining planes and watch that spot during the periods the are flying in tight formation......the #1 plane (Air Boss) is the only one watching the ground landmarks, the rest take their ques off his location and commands.....notice that the Executive Officer (XO) flying one of the solos critiques each pass for the other solo aviator....there is a #7 aircraft flown by the show narrator which is a two seat variant used to give rides to local media and others at show sites and as a backup if needed.....one last note....those jets can be recovered on an aircraft carrier nearly as fast as they landed after the show...typically 50 seconds apart

Russell Notestine Definitely happens, probably quite more often than you think. But these pilots are trained enough and it dosent badly damage the aircraft if they touch.

The boss is controlling every move. His voice is the tone . He says it drawn out so things happen according to the speed of his words. Notice he says smoke normally because it’s an instant action.
