Blue Demon E308L-16

E308/308L-16 is an extra low carbon electrode for the welding of type 304L, 321, and 347 stainless steels. The controlled ferrite in the weld deposit gives excellent notch toughness at cryogenic temperatures. This electrode deposits a max of 4% carbon in the weld metal to minimize the formation of chromium carbides and consequent susceptibility to intergranular corrosion.
Typical Applications: used on food and pharmaceutical equipment, also for architectural fabrication

Ok thanks Blue demon, what about Arc Force and Arc Ignition Time? How do they affect the welding procedure? Are they some how connected to the Welding amps? Thanks again Spiros

those are more related to the machines capabilities than the electrode.

Best to use EP or EN with these rods? Im curiois because ive been using both and cant really accept EP because the EN is much more easy to control.

EP... EN will run but not much penetration

@@bluedemonweld yeah I was actually runnng EN and even though less penetration you get much more time and manipulation, but you can feel the lower layer melt and then which you can poke lightly to leave the weld in almost like a tig. i did my exhaust and the only spots That didnt weld or tht rusted were the spots I didnt use Blue Demon Electrodes!!!!!

Hallo Blue Demon and thanks for the good video. May I ask you to tell me the settings (Welding Amps, Arc ignition time, and Arc Force) that I have to set on my machine when I have to weld 2 plus 2 mm Inox plates and using the 308-16 (2mm) Blue demon rod? Thanks again, Spiros

Hi Spiros. we sell that rod in 1.6mm and 2.4mm, not 2.0mm. start your machine at 50amps for 1.6mm and turn up if needed. likewise, for 2.4mm start off around 65 amps and work your way up. every machine runs slightly different and every joint and position plays a role in affecting welding amps. hope this helps! Wish you were more detailed with the demo and less reading off the specs. How do you demo electrodes and not show how they start or how they handle thinner material? Having a real nightmare with these rods 3/32 on 304 2"x1/8" tube. These rods either blow holes clean through or don't arc at all when turned down.

Idk if it's your technique, amperage or the blue demon electrodes are poor quality, but stainless stick welds run alot smoother than that...
