I've been watching your videos! (You seem wonderful by the way) I am planning to dye my hair blue/green soon.... tried Colour B4 yesterday and it did absolutely nothing to my box dye hair =( (It's a brownish red or vice versa) but I am going to try a bleach test strand in about a week.... I will be so sad if I can't do this because I've been wanting to for years. Anyway, just wanted to thank you for posting so many hair dye videos they are very helpful!

It doesn't fade as quick as other colours and it's quite hard to wash out, it takes a while for it to turn pastel coloured

Was it easy going from orange to blue? And you do recommend any brands that sell really good orange colours? :) I only ask this because I'm orange but I'm looking for really bright oranges!! :) love this video btw!!! Your amazeballs!! :D

I wouldn't say the process is easy but if you fade the orange as much as you possibly can until you get to a dirty gingery blonde colour you should be able get away with only bleaching your hair once for it to be light enough to get blue. There's quite a few super bright oranges! There is la riche directions mandarin, apricot is also really bright but fades to a yellow ginger quite soon, also there is special effects napalm orange and hi octane orange, and one of my favourites is schwarzkopf ultra brights fiery copper. Hi Olivia, I know this is a super old video but you might be able to help me answer a question. I also use Live 00B to lighten my roots. I have been using crazy color dyes to get a fade from dark blue, through teal into a silver teal. The blend works really well but my freshly bleached roots don't seem to take the colour very well and they stay a teal colour instead of going blue. My bleach lightens to a good pale colour, as does yours, so I don't think the base is the issue. Do you ever find that your roots are a different colour? I came back to this video, instead of a more recent one, as you bleached and then dyed blue...as I do. I couldn't see that your roots were lighter but I thought I'd ask! Cheers, Viki

+Ben Durham Maybe it's because your roots are a lighter blonde than the hair the is underneath the blue on the rest of your hair? The lighter your hair the bright the blue will go, maybe when you bleach your roots don't leave it on as long so it doesnt go as light? Hope that makes sense!

+olibombbb Hiya, thanks so much for the reply. The blonde under the blue is pretty light too but the fresh roots could be slightly lighter. I did wonder if this might be the case, or that the roots aren't as processed as the rest of my hair so not taking the colour as well. Super annoying either way!! Gonna use Directions next time to see if it changes anything :-)

Ben Durham No worries :) To be honest it's happened to me in the past, someone said to me you aren't supposed to put colour on your hair straight away after it's been bleached but 9/10 it works fine for me but sometimes it has gone lighter than the rest of my hair

It's not damaging at all, but you have to put it on light hair, it doesn't work on dark hair. It lasts quite a while cause purple is really hard to get out of your hair. Thanks :)

i just dyed my hair but it went a gross bright green colour when it was supposed to be atomic turquoise. is it safe to just chuck heaps of blue hair dye on it to make it blue, or do i have to get rid of the green and bleach it again and aarrrgghhh this is so frustrating. also, you're beautiful, and i love everything you do with your hair. :)

I would just chuck blue onto it. I would hate for you to have to bleach your hair I would just suggest a good brand of blue

hello so I have dyed red hair and I reslly wsnt to ombre it so that it goes red, orange, peach, white. Any tips on how to do that? Ps. I LOVE your hair!!

I'm guessing you have super long hair? You would need to bleach your hair from where you want the orange to start, going from red leading into orange will be pretty easy, but then you need your hair lighter for the peach, and then even lighter leading into white. Basically you will need to bleach your hair a very light blonde colour, and then apply the orange, then peach, then for the ends to be white you may have to bleach again and use toner. I'm not a hair professional so my answers arn't set in stone, but that's what I would do. Hope I helped and thank you :)

I guess it depends how bright the green is. If it's only slightly green you can use ketchup to get rid, (i know but it really works) If it's bright you may want to try a colour stripper? & then if it's still there you could bleach and tone :)

I would recommend 30 vol but not 40 vol. 40 vol is awful and really really damaging

I buy directions from shops, like market stalls and hair shops usually sell them and make up market stalls also. You can get them from ebay super cheap though!

It would be very hard to achieve but you could dye it purple and then bleach your ends and tone them :)

it's semi permanant but lasts ages, you can't get permanat blue dye unless it's virtually black and I got it offline, type directions into ebay or amazon

Kevin Ford It's probably turning green because the blue is mixing with the yellow tones in your hair. Maybe try a toner to get more of an ashy base? Or if you're like me and going for a teal, add more blue to the mix so it's not so green
