So beautifully explained and what makes this demo so much more gorgeous is that superb TONE you have dialed in..It is lush. You have unravelled a sort of ongoing mystery and i'm so thankful to you.

Nicely done. I like your final comment because, AFAIC, and IMHO, your very first solo is by far the best, and they only go downhill from that point on. A simple Dm blues scale, well played as you did hits the spot. The only thing I might add is a judicious C# note (the major 3’rd) over the A7 chord to accentuate the dominant 5 nature of that chord. Thanks!

Great stuff as always; thanks Dan. Look forward to dusting off my old copy of Kind of Blue and playing around with this.

That strat sounds amazing on this, love when people aren’t afraid to play jazz with it

Excellent explanation of a range of options on how to solo over this song. Seeing and hearing the different choices over the same chords in this classic and sophisticated tune is very helpful for understanding the character and flavor of each.

Thanks, Dan, I need to revisit this tune! With so much great music out there it’s easy to let slip into past annuals. Well presented my friend.

Great stuff Dan. I always learn from and appreciate your videos. I am curious about your guitar tone. Amp and settings? Effects?

Nice lesson Mr Baker. Blue in Green is also my favourite track from the record-not only because of Evans’ harmony, but the general atmosphere of the recording. It really works as a complex slow blues or bluesy ballad, which I hadn’t considered. There’s a very tasteful fingerstyle arrangement by a chap called Eric Roche; it quite nearly captures the quality of the original recording, whilst still feeling different. m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/bHW5gZuklLd6nMU

Quite neatly captures, not “nearly”.
