I don't think there is a better, smoother and cooler storytelling choreography than that of Blue Magic... Best of all, they all have great lead singing voices of their own, with their lead singer Ted The Wizard being one of thee greatest singers of all time at that.

My old man used to sing this around the house all the time. I remember feeling so melancholy hearing this song. He passed away a few months ago right before his 75th bday. His last few months, we would go for drives listening to all his old school favs. Crazy because today we did Wreaths Accross America and I was able to put a wreath on his grave at the National Cemetary.

Motown came into the seventies full steam with Rick James, Marvin and Stevie but the Philly Sound soon took over with groups like this. Philly presented a more soulful sound with slick orchestration. More than anything the songwriting was just spectacular. The two sounds never really competed since Philly Sound came after than Motown sound. I think that it was more of a matter of making music for the times no doubt. Philly soon found their sound fading coming the mid 1980s.
