That is unbelievable, is there any theory as to why the color is blue? On an interesting side note , the best frankincense is blue green which comes from oman, of which is retained for the sultan and royalty.

My guess is azulene... that same blue compound is found in some other natural essential oils, and interestingly ANY essential oil with this does share certain common scent notes (blue cypress, blue tansy, blue chamomile, and the list goes on). Pretty neat!

The base notes were dark green, and the final color (all fractions combined) takes the color of the bsae fractions.
