Today, we are going to show you how to make an easy and great little scrap buster called Chevrons.

Dark
Cut 4 - 3.5 inch squares
Cut 4 - 3.5 x 6.5 inch rectangles
Medium
Cut 4 - 3.5 inch squares
Cut 2 - 3.5 x 6.5 inch rectangles
Low Volume
Cut 8 - 3.5 inch squares
Cut 2 - 3.5 x 6.5 inch rectangles

I have crocheted many ripple patterned afghans in my life. This quilt pattern reminds me of the crocheted ripple pattern. I was thinking of starting a new ripple patterned afghan to use up a lot of yarn I have in the house. Some of this yarn is vintage. However, I would rather make a Chevrons quilt instead (and use up a lot of scraps). I could save that yarn for a take alone project. There is nothing that will get your car out of the repair area quicker than sitting in the waiting area working on a needle work project. Plus, people will come over to see what you are working on and be nice to you. Children love it. Thank you for this free pattern and video. I like quilts better than afghans; however, a crocheted afghan makes a wonderful summer bedspread. Quilts are warmer than afghans.

What stitch length are you using? It seems that your fabric is not advancing in a normal speed.

@@freespirit3891 both of her machines are 301's, but I noticed the take up lever is moving faster and it seems like the fabric is not advancing in comparison; thus my question about length of stitch. I sew on vintage machines ..301, 221, 600E and love the beautiful straight stitch they provide.
